Job 19

1 Job spoke next. He said:	1 Ma Giobbe rispose, e disse:
2 How much longer are you going to torment me and crush me by your speeches?	2 Sino a quando affliggerete voi l'anima mia, e mi struggerete co' vostri ragionamenti?
3 You have insulted me ten times already: have you no shame at maltreating me?	3 Ecco che per la decima volta voi mi svergognate, e non avete rossore di opprimermi.
4 Even if I had gone astray, my error would still be my own affair.	4 Certamente quando io sia nell'ignoranza, l'ignoranza mia resterà con me.
5 But, whereas you take this superior attitude and claim that my disgrace is my own fault,	5 Ma voi vi alzate contro di me, e mi rimproverate le mie umiliazioni.
6 I tel you that God has wronged me and enveloped me in his net.	6 Almeno adesso intendete, che Dio non per elletto di suo retto giudicio mi ha afflitto, e mi ha investito co' suoi flagelli.
7 If I protest against such violence, I am not heard, if I appeal against it, judgement is never given.	7 Se violentato ad alta voce io mi querelo, nissuno ascolta, e se getto strida nissuno mi fa ragione.
8 He has built an impassable wal across my path and covered my way with darkness.	8 Egli mi ha serrata da tutte parti la strada, onde non ho passaggio, ed ha ingombrato di tenebre il mio cammino.
9 He has deprived me of my glory and taken the crown from my head.	9 Mi ha spogliato della mia gloria, e mi ha levata di capo la mia corona.
10 He assails me from al directions to make me vanish; he uproots my hope as he might a tree.	10 Egli d'ogni parte mi strugge, ed io perisco, ed ogni speranza a me toglie come a pianta che è sradicata.
11 Inflamed with anger against me, he regards me as his foe.	11 Il suo furore arde contro di me, ed ei mi ha trattato come nemico.
12 His troops have come in force, directing their line of advance towards me, they are now encampedround my tent.	12 Son venute tutte insieme le sue milizie, e si sono fatta strada sopra di me, ed hanno assediata la mia casa da ogni lato.
13 He has alienated my brothers from me, my relatives take care to avoid me,	13 Ha tenuti lungi da me i miei fratelli, e i miei familiari si son ritirati da me quasi fossero estranei.
14 my intimate friends have gone away and the guests in my house have forgotten me.	14 I miei parenti mi han lasciato in abbandono, e chiunque mi conosceva si è scordato di me.
15 My slave-girls regard me as an intruder, a stranger as far as they are concerned.	15 Quelli che nella casa mia abitavano, e le mie serve, mi han riguardato, come uomo non più veduto, e agli occhi loro comparisco come straniero.
16 My servant does not answer when I cal him, I am obliged to beg favours from him!	16 Chiamai il mio servo, e non mi rispose, benché di propria bocca il pregassi.
17 My breath is unbearable to my wife, my stench to my own brothers.	17 La mia moglie ha avuto a schifo il mio alito; e a' miei figliuoli lo porgeva preghiere.
18 Even the children look down on me, whenever I stand up, they start jeering at me.	18 Gli stolti ancora mi dispregiavano, e dietro alle mie spalle sparlavan di me.
19 All my dearest friends recoil from me in horror: those I loved best have turned against me.	19 Quelli che erano una volta miei consiglieri mi hanno in abominio, e l'amico più caro mi ha voltato le spalle.
20 My flesh is rotting under my skin, my bones are sticking out like teeth.	20 Le ossa mie, consunte le carni, stanno attaccate alla pelle, e le sole labbra sono rimase attorno a' miei denti.
21 Pity me, pity me, my friends, since I have been struck by the hand of God.	21 Abbiate pietà di me, abbiate di me pietà almen voi, amici miei, perocché la man del Signore mi ha percosso.
22 Must you persecute me just as God does, and give my body no peace?	22 Perché mi perseguitate voi come fa Dio, e vi satollate delle mie carni.
23 Will no one let my words be recorded, inscribed on some monument	23 Chi mi darà, che siano scritte le mie parole? Chi mi darà, che siano impresse in un libro con istile di ferro,
24 with iron chisel and engraving tool, cut into the rock for ever?	24 E scolpite rimangano in tavola di piombo, ovver sulla pietra collo scalpello?
25 I know that I have a living Defender and that he wil rise up last, on the dust of the earth.	25 Imperocché io so, che vive il mio Redentore, e che nell'ultimo giorno io risorgerò della terra:
26 After my awakening, he wil set me close to him, and from my flesh I shall look on God.	26 E di nuovo sarò rivestito di questa mia pelle, e nella mia carne vedrò il mio Dio,
27 He whom I shal see wil take my part: my eyes will be gazing on no stranger. My heart sinks withinme.	27 Cui vedrò io medesimo, e non un altro, e in cui fisserò io stesso i miei occhi: questa è la speranza che nel mio seno io tengo riposta.
28 When you say, 'How can we confound him? What pretext can we discover against him?'	28 Perché adunque dite voi ora: Perseguitiamolo, e attacchiamoci alle sue parole per accusarlo?
29 You yourselves had best beware the sword, since the wrath bursts into flame at wicked deeds andthen you wil learn that there is indeed a judgement!	29 Fuggite adunque il lampeggiar della spada; perocché spada vi è ultrice delle iniquità: sappiate che v'ha un giudizio.
