Ijob 2

EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Nun geschah es eines Tages, da kamen die Gottessöhne, um vor den Herrn hinzutreten; unter ihnen kam auch der Satan, um vor den Herrn hinzutreten.	1 Another day, the sons of God came to attend on Yahweh and Satan came with them too.
2 Da sprach der Herr zum Satan: Woher kommst du? Der Satan antwortete dem Herrn: Die Erde habe ich durchstreift, hin und her.	2 So Yahweh said to Satan, 'Where have you been?' 'Prowling about on earth,' he answered, 'roamingaround there.'
3 Der Herr sprach zum Satan: Hast du auf meinen Knecht Ijob geachtet? Seinesgleichen gibt es nicht auf der Erde, so untadelig und rechtschaffen; er fürchtet Gott und meidet das Böse. Noch immer hält er fest an seiner Frömmigkeit, obwohl du mich gegen ihn aufgereizt hast, ihn ohne Grund zu verderben.	3 So Yahweh asked him, 'Did you pay any attention to my servant Job? There is no one like him on theearth: a sound and honest man who fears God and shuns evil. He persists in his integrity stil ; you achieved nothing by provoking me to ruin him.'
4 Der Satan antwortete dem Herrn und sagte: Haut um Haut! Alles, was der Mensch besitzt, gibt er hin für sein Leben.	4 'Skin after skin!' Satan replied. 'Someone wil give away al he has to save his life.
5 Doch streck deine Hand aus und rühr an sein Gebein und Fleisch; wahrhaftig, er wird dir ins Angesicht fluchen.	5 But stretch out your hand and lay a finger on his bone and flesh; I warrant you, he wil curse you to yourface.'
6 Da sprach der Herr zum Satan: Gut, er ist in deiner Hand. Nur schone sein Leben!	6 'Very wel ,' Yahweh said to Satan, 'he is in your power. But spare his life.'
7 Der Satan ging weg vom Angesicht Gottes und schlug Ijob mit bösartigem Geschwür von der Fußsohle bis zum Scheitel.	7 So Satan left the presence of Yahweh. He struck Job down with malignant ulcers from the sole of hisfoot to the top of his head.
8 Ijob setzte sich mitten in die Asche und nahm eine Scherbe, um sich damit zu schaben.	8 Job took a piece of pot to scrape himself, and went and sat among the ashes.
9 Da sagte seine Frau zu ihm: Hältst du immer noch fest an deiner Frömmigkeit? Lästere Gott und stirb!	9 Then his wife said to him, 'Why persist in this integrity of yours? Curse God and die.'
10 Er aber sprach zu ihr: Wie eine Törin redet, so redest du. Nehmen wir das Gute an von Gott, sollen wir dann nicht auch das Böse annehmen? Bei all dem sündigte Ijob nicht mit seinen Lippen.	10 'That is how a fool of a woman talks,' Job replied. 'If we take happiness from God's hand, must we nottake sorrow too?' And in al this misfortune Job uttered no sinful word.
11 Die drei Freunde Ijobs hörten von all dem Bösen, das über ihn gekommen war. Und sie kamen, jeder aus seiner Heimat: Elifas aus Teman, Bildad aus Schuach und Zofar aus Naama. Sie vereinbarten hinzugehen, um ihm ihre Teilnahme zu bezeigen und um ihn zu trösten.	11 The news of al the disasters that had fal en on Job came to the ears of three of his friends. Each ofthem set out from home -- Eliphaz of Teman, Bildad of Shuah and Zophar of Naamath -- and by commonconsent they decided to go and offer him sympathy and consolation.
12 Als sie von fern aufblickten, erkannten sie ihn nicht; sie schrien auf und weinten. Jeder zerriss sein Gewand; sie streuten Asche über ihr Haupt gegen den Himmel.	12 Looking at him from a distance, they could not recognise him; they wept aloud and tore their robes andthrew dust over their heads.
13 Sie saßen bei ihm auf der Erde sieben Tage und sieben Nächte; keiner sprach ein Wort zu ihm. Denn sie sahen, dass sein Schmerz sehr groß war.	13 They sat there on the ground beside him for seven days and seven nights. To Job they spoke never aword, for they saw how much he was suffering.
