1 Hino de Asaf. Por que, Senhor, persistis em nos rejeitar? Por que se inflama vossa ira contra as ovelhas de vosso rebanho?	1 A Maskil of Asaph. O God, why dost thou cast us off for ever? Why does thy anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?
2 Recordai-vos de vosso povo que elegestes outrora, da tribo que resgatastes para vossa possessão, da montanha de Sião onde fizestes vossa morada.	2 Remember thy congregation, which thou hast gotten of old, which thou hast redeemed to be the tribe of thy heritage! Remember Mount Zion, where thou hast dwelt.
3 Dirigi vossos passos a estes lugares definitivamente devastados; o inimigo tudo destruiu no santuário.	3 Direct thy steps to the perpetual ruins; the enemy has destroyed everything in the sanctuary!
4 Os adversários rugiam no local de vossas assembléias, como troféus hastearam suas bandeiras.	4 Thy foes have roared in the midst of thy holy place; they set up their own signs for signs.
5 Pareciam homens a vibrar o machado na floresta espessa.	5 At the upper entrance they hacked the wooden trellis with axes.
6 Rebentaram os portais do templo com malhos e martelos,	6 And then all its carved wood they broke down with hatchets and hammers.
7 atearam fogo ao vosso santuário, profanaram, arrasaram a morada do vosso nome.	7 They set thy sanctuary on fire; to the ground they desecrated the dwelling place of thy name.
8 Disseram em seus corações: Destruamo-los todos juntos; incendiai todos os lugares santos da terra.	8 They said to themselves, "We will utterly subdue them"; they burned all the meeting places of God in the land.
9 Não vemos mais nossos emblemas, já não há nenhum profeta e ninguém entre nós que saiba até quando...	9 We do not see our signs; there is no longer any prophet, and there is none among us who knows how long.
10 Ó Deus, até quando nos insultará o inimigo? O adversário blasfemará vosso nome para sempre?	10 How long, O God, is the foe to scoff? Is the enemy to revile thy name for ever?
11 Por que retirais a vossa mão? Por que guardais vossa destra em vosso seio?	11 Why dost thou hold back thy hand, why dost thou keep thy right hand in thy bosom?
12 Entretanto, Deus é meu rei desde os tempos antigos, ele que opera a salvação por toda a terra.	12 Yet God my King is from of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.
13 Vosso poder abriu o mar, esmagastes nas águas as cabeças de dragões.	13 Thou didst divide the sea by thy might; thou didst break the heads of the dragons on the waters.
14 Quebrastes as cabeças do Leviatã, e as destes como pasto aos monstros do mar.	14 Thou didst crush the heads of Leviathan, thou didst give him as food for the creatures of the wilderness.
15 Fizestes jorrar fontes e torrentes, secastes rios caudalosos.	15 Thou didst cleave open springs and brooks; thou didst dry up ever-flowing streams.
16 Vosso é o dia, a noite vos pertence: vós criastes a lua e o sol,	16 Thine is the day, thine also the night; thou hast established the luminaries and the sun.
17 Vós marcastes à terra seus confins, estabelecestes o inverno e o verão.	17 Thou hast fixed all the bounds of the earth; thou hast made summer and winter.
18 Lembrai-vos: o inimigo vos insultou, Senhor, e um povo insensato ultrajou o vosso nome.	18 Remember this, O LORD, how the enemy scoffs, and an impious people reviles thy name.
19 Não abandoneis ao abutre a vida de vossa pomba, não esqueçais para sempre a vida de vossos pobres.	19 Do not deliver the soul of thy dove to the wild beasts; do not forget the life of thy poor for ever.
20 Olhai para a vossa aliança, porque todos os recantos da terra são antros de violência.	20 Have regard for thy covenant; for the dark places of the land are full of the habitations of violence.
21 Que os oprimidos não voltem confundidos, que o pobre e o indigente possam louvar o vosso nome.	21 Let not the downtrodden be put to shame; let the poor and needy praise thy name.
22 Levantai-vos, ó Deus, defendei a vossa causa. Lembrai-vos das blasfêmias que continuamente vos dirige o insensato.	22 Arise, O God, plead thy cause; remember how the impious scoff at thee all the day!
23 Não olvideis os insultos de vossos adversários, e o tumulto crescente dos que se insurgem contra vós.	23 Do not forget the clamor of thy foes, the uproar of thy adversaries which goes up continually!
