SAGRADA BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Ao mestre de canto. Cântico. Salmo. Aclamai a Deus, toda a terra,	1 [For the choirmaster Song Psalm] Acclaim God, al the earth,
2 Cantai a glória de seu nome, rendei-lhe glorioso louvor.	2 sing psalms to the glory of his name, glorify him with your praises,
3 Dizei a Deus: Vossas obras são estupendas! Tal é o vosso poder que os próprios inimigos vos glorificam.	3 say to God, 'How awesome you are! 'Your achievements are the measure of your power, yourenemies woo your favour,
4 Diante de vós se prosterne toda a terra, e cante em vossa honra a glória de vosso nome.	4 al the earth bows down before you, sings psalms to you, sings psalms to your name.'Pause
5 Vinde contemplar as obras de Deus: ele fez maravilhas entre os filhos dos homens.	5 Come and see the marvels of God, his awesome deeds for the children of Adam:
6 Mudou o mar em terra firme; atravessaram o rio a pé enxuto; eis o motivo de nossa alegria.	6 he changed the sea into dry land, they crossed the river on foot. So let us rejoice in him,
7 Domina pelo seu poder para sempre, seus olhos observam as nações pagãs; que os rebeldes não levantem a cabeça.	7 who rules for ever by his power; his eyes keep watch on the nations to forestal rebel ion againsthim.Pause
8 Bendizei, ó povos, ao nosso Deus, publicai seus louvores.	8 Nations, bless our God, let the sound of his praise be heard;
9 Foi ele quem conservou a vida de nossa alma, e não permitiu resvalassem nossos pés.	9 he brings us to life and keeps our feet from stumbling.
10 Pois vós nos provastes, ó Deus, acrisolastes-nos como se faz com a prata.	10 God, you have put us to the test, refined us like silver,
11 Deixastes-nos cair no laço, carga pesada pusestes em nossas costas.	11 let us fal into the net; you have put a heavy strain on our backs,
12 Submetestes-nos ao jugo dos homens, passamos pelo fogo e pela água; mas, por fim, nos destes alívio.	12 let men ride over our heads; but now the ordeal by fire and water is over, you have led us out tobreathe again.
13 É, pois, com holocaustos que entrarei em vossa casa, pagarei os votos que fiz para convosco,	13 I bring burnt offerings to your house, I fulfil to you my vows,
14 votos proferidos pelos meus lábios, quando me encontrava na tribulação.	14 the vows that rose to my lips, that I pronounced when I was in trouble.
15 Oferecerei em holocausto as mais belas ovelhas, com os mais gordos carneiros; imolarei touros e cabritos.	15 I wil offer you rich burnt offerings, with the smoke of burning rams. I wil sacrifice to you bul ocks andgoats.Pause
16 Vinde, ouvi vós todos que temeis ao Senhor. Eu vos narrarei quão grandes coisas Deus fez à minha alma.	16 Come and listen, all who fear God, while I tel what he has done for me.
17 Meus lábios o invocaram, com minha língua o louvei.	17 To him I cried aloud, high praise was on my tongue.
18 Se eu intentasse no coração o mal, não me teria ouvido o Senhor.	18 Had I been aware of guilt in my heart, the Lord would not have listened,
19 Mas Deus me ouviu; atendeu a voz da minha súplica.	19 but in fact God did listen, attentive to the sound of my prayer.
20 Bendito seja Deus que não rejeitou a minha oração, nem retirou de mim a sua misericórdia.	20 Blessed be God who has not turned away my prayer, nor his own faithful love from me.
