SAGRADA BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Eis a posteridade dos filhos de Noé: Sem, Cam e Jefet. Estes tiveram filhos depois do dilúvio.	1 These are the descendants of Noah's sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, to whom sons were born afterthe flood:
2 Filhos de Jafet: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javã, Tubal, Mosoc e Tiras.	2 Japheth's sons: Gomer, Magog, the Medes, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, Tiras.
3 Filhos de Gomer: Ascenez, Rifat e Togorma.	3 Gomer's sons: Ashkenaz, Riphath, Togarmah.
4 Filhos de Javã: Elisa e Társis, Cetim e Dodanim.	4 Javan's sons: Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittim, the Dananites.
5 Destes saíram os povos dispersos nas ilhas das nações, em seus diversos países, cada um segundo sua língua e segundo suas famílias e suas nações.	5 From these came the dispersal to the islands of the nations. These were Japheth's sons, in theirrespective countries, each with its own language, by clan and nation.
6 Filhos de Cam: Cus, Mesraim, Fut e Canaã.	6 Ham's sons: Cush, Mizraim, Put, Canaan.
7 Filhos de Cus: Saba, Hevila, Sabata, Regma e Sabataca. Filhos de Regma: Saba e Dadã.	7 Cush's sons: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, Sabteca. Raamah's sons: Sheba, Dedan.
8 Cus gerou Nemrod, que foi o primeiro homem poderoso da terra.	8 Cush fathered Nimrod who was the first potentate on earth.
9 Ele foi um grande caçador diante do Senhor. Donde a expressão: "Como Nemrod, grande caçador diante do Eterno."	9 He was a mighty hunter in the eyes of Yahweh, hence the saying, 'Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter in theeyes of Yahweh'.
10 Ele estabeleceu o seu reino primeiramente em Babilônia, Arac, Acad e em Calane, na terra de Senaar.	10 The mainstays of his empire were Babel, Erech and Accad, all of them in the land of Shinar.
11 Daí foi para Assur e construiu Nínive, Recobot-Ir, Cale	11 From this country came Asshur, and he built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, Calah,
12 e Resem, a grande cidade entre Nínive e Cale.	12 and Resen between Nineveh and Calah (this being the capital).
13 Mesraim gerou os ludim, os anamim, os laabim, os neftuim,	13 Mizraim fathered the people of Lud, of Anam, Lehab, Naphtuh,
14 os fetrusim, os casluim e os caftorim, donde saíram os filisteus.	14 Pathros, Casluh and Caphtor, from which the Philistines came.
15 Canaã gerou Sidon, seu primogênito, e Het,	15 Canaan fathered Sidon, his first-born, then Heth,
16 assim como os jebuseus, os amorreus, os gergeseus,	16 and the Jebusites, the Amorites, Girgashites,
17 os heveus, os araceus, os sineus,	17 Hivites, Arkites, Sinites,
18 os aradeus, os samareus e os hamateus. Em seguida, as famílias dos cananeus se dispersaram,	18 Arvadites, Zemarites and Hamathites. Later, the Canaanite clans spread out.
19 e o território dos cananeus era desde Sidon, na direção de Gerara, até Gaza; e na direção de Sodoma, Gomorra, Adama e Seboim, até Lesa.	19 The Canaanite frontier stretched from Sidon al the way to Gerar near Gaza, and al the way toSodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboi m near Lesha.
20 Estes são os filhos de Cam segundo suas famílias, suas línguas, em seus diversos países e suas nações.	20 These were Ham's sons, by clans and languages, by countries and nations.
21 Nasceram também filhos a Sem, pai de todos os filhos de Heber, e irmão mais velho de Jafet.	21 Shem too fathered sons, being ancestor of all the sons of Eber and Japheth's elder brother.
22 Filhos de Sem: Elão, Assur, Arfaxad, Lud e Arão.	22 Shem's sons: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, Aram.
23 Filhos de Arão: Us, Hul, Geter e Mes.	23 Aram's sons: Uz, Hul, Gether and Mash.
24 Arfaxad gerou Salé, Salé gerou Heber.	24 Arpachshad fathered Shelah, and Shelah fathered Eber.
25 Heber teve dois filhos: um se chamava Faleg, porque no seu tempo a terra foi dividida, e o outro se chamava Jetã.	25 To Eber were born two sons: the first was cal ed Peleg, because it was in his time that the earth wasdivided, and his brother was called Joktan.
26 Jetã gerou Elmodad, Salef, Asarmot, Jaré,	26 Joktan fathered Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,
27 Adurão, Uzal, Decla,	27 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,
28 Ebal, Abimael, Saba,	28 Obal, Abima-El, Sheba,
29 Ofir, Hevila e Jobab. Estes são os filhos de Jetã.	29 Ophir, Havilah, Jobab; al these were sons of Joktan.
30 A terra que eles habitavam se estendia desde Mesa, na direção de Sefar, até a montanha do Oriente.	30 They occupied a stretch of country from Mesha all the way to Sephar, the eastern mountain range.
31 Estes são os filhos de Sem, segundo suas famílias, segundo suas línguas, em seus diversos países e suas nações.	31 These were Shem's sons, by clans and languages, by countries and nations.
32 Tais são as famílias dos filhos de Noé, segundo suas gerações e suas nações. É dele que descendem as nações que se espalharam sobre a terra depois do dilúvio.	32 Such were the clans of Noah's descendants, listed by descent and nation. From them, other nationsbranched out on earth after the flood.
