LXXKING JAMES BIBLE
-1 The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.
παντα τα εργα του ταπεινου φανερα παρα τω θεω οι δε ασεβεις εν ημερα κακη ολουνται2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.
-3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.
-4 The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
ακαθαρτος παρα θεω πας υψηλοκαρδιος χειρι δε χειρας εμβαλων αδικως ουκ αθωωθησεται5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.
-6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.
αρχη οδου αγαθης το ποιειν τα δικαια δεκτα δε παρα θεω μαλλον η θυειν θυσιας7 When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.
ο ζητων τον κυριον ευρησει γνωσιν μετα δικαιοσυνης οι δε ορθως ζητουντες αυτον ευρησουσιν ειρηνην8 Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.
παντα τα εργα του κυριου μετα δικαιοσυνης φυλασσεται δε ο ασεβης εις ημεραν κακην9 A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.
μαντειον επι χειλεσιν βασιλεως εν δε κρισει ου μη πλανηθη το στομα αυτου10 A divine sentence is in the lips of the king: his mouth transgresseth not in judgment.
ροπη ζυγου δικαιοσυνη παρα κυριω τα δε εργα αυτου σταθμια δικαια11 A just weight and balance are the LORD's: all the weights of the bag are his work.
βδελυγμα βασιλει ο ποιων κακα μετα γαρ δικαιοσυνης ετοιμαζεται θρονος αρχης12 It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness.
δεκτα βασιλει χειλη δικαια λογους δε ορθους αγαπα13 Righteous lips are the delight of kings; and they love him that speaketh right.
θυμος βασιλεως αγγελος θανατου ανηρ δε σοφος εξιλασεται αυτον14 The wrath of a king is as messengers of death: but a wise man will pacify it.
εν φωτι ζωης υιος βασιλεως οι δε προσδεκτοι αυτω ωσπερ νεφος οψιμον15 In the light of the king's countenance is life; and his favour is as a cloud of the latter rain.
νοσσιαι σοφιας αιρετωτεραι χρυσιου νοσσιαι δε φρονησεως αιρετωτεραι υπερ αργυριον16 How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!
τριβοι ζωης εκκλινουσιν απο κακων μηκος δε βιου οδοι δικαιοσυνης ο δεχομενος παιδειαν εν αγαθοις εσται ο δε φυλασσων ελεγχους σοφισθησεται ος φυλασσει τας εαυτου οδους τηρει την εαυτου ψυχην αγαπων δε ζωην αυτου φεισεται στοματος αυτου17 The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.
προ συντριβης ηγειται υβρις προ δε πτωματος κακοφροσυνη18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
κρεισσων πραυθυμος μετα ταπεινωσεως η ος διαιρειται σκυλα μετα υβριστων19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.
συνετος εν πραγμασιν ευρετης αγαθων πεποιθως δε επι θεω μακαριστος20 He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he.
τους σοφους και συνετους φαυλους καλουσιν οι δε γλυκεις εν λογω πλειονα ακουσονται21 The wise in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning.
πηγη ζωης εννοια τοις κεκτημενοις παιδεια δε αφρονων κακη22 Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly.
καρδια σοφου νοησει τα απο του ιδιου στοματος επι δε χειλεσιν φορεσει επιγνωμοσυνην23 The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips.
κηρια μελιτος λογοι καλοι γλυκασμα δε αυτων ιασις ψυχης24 Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
εισιν οδοι δοκουσαι ειναι ορθαι ανδρι τα μεντοι τελευταια αυτων βλεπει εις πυθμενα αδου25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
ανηρ εν πονοις πονει εαυτω και εκβιαζεται εαυτου την απωλειαν ο μεντοι σκολιος επι τω εαυτου στοματι φορει την απωλειαν26 He that laboureth laboureth for himself; for his mouth craveth it of him.
ανηρ αφρων ορυσσει εαυτω κακα επι δε των εαυτου χειλεων θησαυριζει πυρ27 An ungodly man diggeth up evil: and in his lips there is as a burning fire.
ανηρ σκολιος διαπεμπεται κακα και λαμπτηρα δολου πυρσευει κακοις και διαχωριζει φιλους28 A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.
ανηρ παρανομος αποπειραται φιλων και απαγει αυτους οδους ουκ αγαθας29 A violent man enticeth his neighbour, and leadeth him into the way that is not good.
στηριζων οφθαλμους αυτου λογιζεται διεστραμμενα οριζει δε τοις χειλεσιν αυτου παντα τα κακα ουτος καμινος εστιν κακιας30 He shutteth his eyes to devise froward things: moving his lips he bringeth evil to pass.
στεφανος καυχησεως γηρας εν δε οδοις δικαιοσυνης ευρισκεται31 The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.
κρεισσων ανηρ μακροθυμος ισχυρου ο δε κρατων οργης κρεισσων καταλαμβανομενου πολιν32 He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.
εις κολπους επερχεται παντα τοις αδικοις παρα δε κυριου παντα τα δικαια33 The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the LORD.
