BIBBIA CEI 1974	NEW JERUSALEM
1 L'angelo che mi parlava venne a destarmi, come si desta uno dal sonno,	1 The angel who was talking to me came back and roused me as though rousing someone who wasasleep.
2 e mi disse: "Che cosa vedi?". Risposi: "Vedo un candelabro tutto d'oro; in cima ha un recipiente con sette lucerne e sette beccucci per le lucerne.	2 And he asked me, 'What do you see?' I replied, 'As I look, there is a lamp-stand entirely of gold with abowl at the top of it; it holds seven lamps, with seven openings for the lamps on it.
3 Due olivi gli stanno vicino, uno a destra e uno a sinistra".	3 By it are two olive trees, one to the right and the other to the left.'
4 Allora domandai all'angelo che mi parlava: "Che cosa significano, signor mio, queste cose?".	4 I then said to the angel who was talking to me, 'What are those things, my lord?'
5 Egli mi rispose: "Non comprendi dunque il loro significato?". E io: "No, signor mio".	5 The angel who was talking to me replied, 'Do you not know what they are?' I said, 'No, my lord.'
6 Egli mi rispose: "Questa è la parola del Signore a Zorobabele: Non con la potenza né con la forza, ma con il mio spirito, dice il Signore degli eserciti!	6 He then gave me this answer,'These seven are the eyes of Yahweh, which range over the whole world.'
7 Chi sei tu, o grande monte? Davanti a Zorobabele diventa pianura! Egli estrarrà la pietra, quella del vertice, fra le acclamazioni: Quanto è bella!".	7 'What are you, great mountain? Beside Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! He wil bring out thekeystone while it is cheered with Hurrah! Hurrah!'
8 Mi fu rivolta questa parola del Signore:	8 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,
9 "Le mani di Zorobabele hanno fondato questa casa: le sue mani la compiranno e voi saprete che il Signore degli eserciti mi ha inviato a voi.	9 'The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this Temple; his hands wil finish it. (Then you wilknow that Yahweh Sabaoth has sent me to you.)
10 Chi oserà disprezzare il giorno di così modesti inizi? Si gioirà vedendo il filo a piombo in mano a Zorobabele. Le sette lucerne rappresentano gli occhi del Signore che scrutano tutta la terra".	10 A day of little things, no doubt, but who would dare despise it? How they wil rejoice when they see thechosen stone in the hands of Zerubbabel!'
11 Quindi gli domandai: "Che significano quei due olivi a destra e a sinistra del candelabro?	11 Then I went on to ask him, 'What is the meaning of these two olive trees, to right and left of the lamp-stand?'
12 E quelle due ciocche d'olivo che stillano oro dentro i due canaletti d'oro?".	12 (And I went on to ask him further, 'What is the meaning of the two olive branches discharging oilthrough the two golden openings?')
13 Mi rispose: "Non comprendi dunque il significato di queste cose?". E io: "No, signor mio".	13 He replied, 'Do you not know what they are?' I said, 'No, my lord.'
14 "Questi, soggiunse, sono i due consacrati che assistono il dominatore di tutta la terra".	14 He said, 'These are the two anointed ones in attendance on the Lord of the whole world. This is theword of Yahweh with regard to Zerubbabel, 'Not by might and not by power, but by my spirit' -- says YahwehSabaoth.
