BIBBIA CEI 1974	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Davide disse: "Questa è la casa del Signore Dio e questo è l'altare per gli olocausti di Israele".	1 David then said, 'This is to be the house of Yahweh God and this the altar of burnt offering for Israel.'
2 Davide ordinò di radunare gli stranieri che erano nel paese di Israele. Quindi diede incarico agli scalpellini perché squadrassero pietre per la costruzione del tempio.	2 David then gave orders for al foreigners in Israel to be rounded up, and appointed quarrymen to cutdressed stone for building the house of God.
3 Davide preparò ferro per i chiodi dei battenti delle porte e per le spranghe di ferro e anche molto bronzo in quantità incalcolabile.	3 David also prepared great quantities of iron to make nails for the leaves of the doors and for theclamps, and more bronze than could be weighed,
4 Il legno di cedro non si contava, poiché quelli di Sidòne e di Tiro avevano portato a Davide molto legno di cedro.	4 as wel as innumerable cedar-wood logs, as the Sidonians and Tyrians had brought cedar logs toDavid in great quantities.
5 Davide pensava: "Mio figlio Salomone è ancora giovane e inesperto, mentre la costruzione da erigersi per il Signore deve essere straordinariamente grande, tale da suscitare fama e ammirazione in tutti i paesi; per questo ne farò i preparativi io". Davide, prima di morire, effettuò preparativi imponenti.	5 David then said, 'My son Solomon is young and immature, and the house to be built for Yahweh mustbe superlatively fine, the most famous and splendid in any country. I shal now make the preparations for it.' Andso, before he died, David made ample preparations.
6 Poi chiamò Salomone suo figlio e gli comandò di costruire un tempio al Signore Dio di Israele.	6 He then summoned his son Solomon and commanded him to build a house for Yahweh, God of Israel.
7 Davide disse a Salomone: "Figlio mio, io avevo deciso di costruire un tempio al nome del Signore mio Dio.	7 'My son,' David said to Solomon, 'my heart was set on building a house for the name of Yahweh myGod.
8 Ma mi fu rivolta questa parola del Signore: Tu hai versato troppo sangue e hai fatto grandi guerre; per questo non costruirai il tempio al mio nome, perché hai versato troppo sangue sulla terra davanti a me.	8 But the word of Yahweh came to me, "You have shed much blood and fought great wars; it is not foryou to build a house for my name, since you have shed much blood in my sight on earth.
9 Ecco ti nascerà un figlio, che sarà uomo di pace; io gli concederò la tranquillità da parte di tutti i suoi nemici che lo circondano. Egli si chiamerà Salomone. Nei suoi giorni io concederò pace e tranquillità a Israele.	9 Look, a son will be born to you. He will be a man of peace, and I shal give him peace from hisenemies on all sides; for Solomon is to be his name, and in his days I shal give Israel peace and tranquil ity.
10 Egli costruirà un tempio al mio nome; egli sarà figlio per me e io sarò padre per lui. Stabilirò il trono del suo regno su Israele per sempre.	10 He must build a house for my name; he wil be my son and I shall be his father, and I shall make thethrone of his kingdom secure over Israel for ever."
11 Ora, figlio mio, il Signore sia con te perché tu riesca a costruire un tempio al Signore tuo Dio, come ti ha promesso.	11 Now, my son, may Yahweh be with you and give you success in building a house for Yahweh yourGod, as he has promised about you.
12 Ebbene, il Signore ti conceda senno e intelligenza, ti costituisca re di Israele per osservare la legge del Signore tuo Dio.	12 And especial y, may Yahweh give you discretion and discernment, may he give you his orders forIsrael, so that you may observe the Law of Yahweh your God.
13 Certo riuscirai, se cercherai di praticare gli statuti e i decreti che il Signore ha prescritti a Mosè per Israele. Sii forte, coraggio; non temere e non abbatterti.	13 Success wil be yours, only if you observe the statutes and ordinances which Yahweh gave Mosesas regulations for Israel. Be strong and stand fast, be fearless, be dauntless.
14 Ecco, anche in mezzo alle angosce, ho preparato per il tempio centomila talenti d'oro, un milione di talenti d'argento, bronzo e ferro in quantità incalcolabile. Inoltre ho preparato legname e pietre; tu ve ne aggiungerai ancora.	14 Now, poor as I am, I have set aside for the house of Yahweh a hundred thousand talents of gold, amil ion talents of silver and more bronze and iron than can be weighed, there being so much. I have alsoprovided timber and stone, to which you may add more.
15 Ti assisteranno molti operai, scalpellini e lavoratori della pietra e del legno e tecnici di ogni sorta per qualsiasi lavoro.	15 Furthermore, you have a large number of workmen, quarrymen, masons, carpenters and al sorts ofcraftsmen for every kind of work,
16 L'oro, l'argento, il bronzo e il ferro non si calcolano; su, mettiti al lavoro e il Signore ti assista".	16 while your gold and silver, bronze and iron wil be beyond reckoning. Set to work, then, and mayYahweh be with you!'
17 Davide comandò a tutti i capi di Israele di aiutare Salomone suo figlio.	17 David then commanded al the leaders of Israel to help his son Solomon.
18 Disse: "Il Signore vostro Dio non è forse con voi e non vi ha concesso tranquillità all'intorno? Difatti ha già messo nelle mie mani gli abitanti della regione; il paese si è assoggettato davanti al Signore e davanti al suo popolo.	18 'Has not Yahweh your God been with you and given you peace on al sides, having put theinhabitants of the country into my power and the country now having been subdued for Yahweh and his people?
19 Ora perciò dedicatevi con tutto il cuore e con tutta l'anima alla ricerca del Signore vostro Dio. Su, costruite il santuario del Signore vostro Dio, per introdurre l'arca dell'alleanza del Signore e gli oggetti consacrati a Dio nel tempio che sarà eretto al nome del Signore".	19 So now devote heart and soul to searching for Yahweh your God. Set to and build the sanctuary ofYahweh God, so that you can bring the ark of the covenant of Yahweh and the holy vessels of God into thehouse built for the name of Yahweh.'
