1 La parola del Signore fu rivolta a Ieu figlio di Canàni contro Baasa:	1 And the word of the LORD came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,
2 "Io ti ho innalzato dalla polvere e ti ho costituito capo del popolo di Israele, ma tu hai imitato la condotta di Geroboamo e hai fatto peccare Israele mio popolo fino a provocarmi con i loro peccati.	2 "Since I exalted you out of the dust and made you leader over my people Israel, and you have walked in the way of Jeroboam, and have made my people Israel to sin, provoking me to anger with their sins,
3 Ecco, io spazzerò Baasa e la sua casa e renderò la tua casa come la casa di Geroboamo figlio di Nebàt.	3 behold, I will utterly sweep away Baasha and his house, and I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
4 I cani divoreranno quanti della casa di Baasa moriranno in città; quelli morti in campagna li divoreranno gli uccelli dell'aria".	4 Any one belonging to Baasha who dies in the city the dogs shall eat; and any one of his who dies in the field the birds of the air shall eat."
5 Le altre gesta di Baasa, le sue azioni e le sue prodezze, sono descritte nel libro delle Cronache dei re di Israele.	5 Now the rest of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
6 Baasa si addormentò con i suoi padri e fu sepolto in Tirza e al suo posto regnò suo figlio Ela.	6 And Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried at Tirzah; and Elah his son reigned in his stead.
7 Attraverso il profeta Ieu figlio di Canàni la parola del Signore fu rivolta a Baasa e alla sua casa. Dio condannò Baasa per tutto il male che aveva commesso agli occhi del Signore, irritandolo con le sue opere, tanto che la sua casa era diventata come quella di Geroboamo, e perché egli aveva sterminato quella famiglia.	7 Moreover the word of the LORD came by the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha and his house, both because of all the evil that he did in the sight of the LORD, provoking him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam, and also because he destroyed it.
8 Nell'anno ventiseiesimo di Asa re di Giuda, su Israele in Tirza divenne re Ela figlio di Baasa; regnò due anni.	8 In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, Elah the son of Baasha began to reign over Israel in Tirzah, and reigned two years.
9 Contro di lui congiurò un suo ufficiale, Zimri, capo di una metà dei carri. Mentre quegli, in Tirza, beveva e si ubriacava nella casa di Arza, maggiordomo in Tirza,	9 But his servant Zimri, commander of half his chariots, conspired against him. When he was at Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza, who was over the household in Tirzah,
10 arrivò Zimri, lo sconfisse, l'uccise nell'anno ventisettesimo di Asa, re di Giuda, e regnò al suo posto.	10 Zimri came in and struck him down and killed him, in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his stead.
11 Quando divenne re, appena seduto sul suo trono, distrusse tutta la famiglia di Baasa; non lasciò sopravvivere alcun maschio fra i suoi parenti e amici.	11 When he began to reign, as soon as he had seated himself on his throne, he killed all the house of Baasha; he did not leave him a single male of his kinsmen or his friends.
12 Zimri distrusse tutta la famiglia di Baasa secondo la parola che il Signore aveva rivolta contro Baasa per mezzo del profeta Ieu,	12 Thus Zimri destroyed all the house of Baasha, according to the word of the LORD, which he spoke against Baasha by Jehu the prophet,
13 a causa di tutti i peccati di Baasa e dei peccati di Ela suo figlio, di quelli commessi da loro e di quelli fatti commettere a Israele, irritando con le loro vanità il Signore Dio di Israele.	13 for all the sins of Baasha and the sins of Elah his son which they sinned, and which they made Israel to sin, provoking the LORD God of Israel to anger with their idols.
14 Le altre gesta di Ela e tutte le sue azioni sono descritte nel libro delle Cronache dei re di Israele.	14 Now the rest of the acts of Elah, and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
15 Nell'anno ventisettesimo di Asa re di Giuda, Zimri divenne re per sette giorni in Tirza, mentre il popolo era accampato contro Ghibbeton, che apparteneva ai Filistei.	15 In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, Zimri reigned seven days in Tirzah. Now the troops were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines,
16 Quando il popolo accampato colà venne a sapere che Zimri si era ribellato e aveva ucciso il re, tutto Israele in quello stesso giorno, nell'accampamento, proclamò re di Israele Omri, capo dell'esercito.	16 and the troops who were encamped heard it said, "Zimri has conspired, and he has killed the king"; therefore all Israel made Omri, the commander of the army, king over Israel that day in the camp.
17 Omri e tutto Israele, abbandonata Ghibbeton, andarono a Tirza.	17 So Omri went up from Gibbethon, and all Israel with him, and they besieged Tirzah.
18 Quando vide che era stata presa la città, Zimri entrò nella fortezza della reggia, incendiò il palazzo e così morì bruciato.	18 And when Zimri saw that the city was taken, he went into the citadel of the king's house, and burned the king's house over him with fire, and died,
19 Ciò avvenne a causa del peccato che egli aveva commesso compiendo ciò che è male agli occhi del Signore, imitando la condotta di Geroboamo e il peccato con cui aveva fatto peccare Israele.	19 because of his sins which he committed, doing evil in the sight of the LORD, walking in the way of Jeroboam, and for his sin which he committed, making Israel to sin.
20 Le altre gesta di Zimri e la congiura da lui organizzata sono descritte nel libro delle Cronache dei re di Israele.	20 Now the rest of the acts of Zimri, and the conspiracy which he made, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
21 Allora il popolo di Israele si divise in due parti. Una metà parteggiava per Tibni, figlio di Ghinat, con il proposito di proclamarlo re; l'altra metà parteggiava per Omri.	21 Then the people of Israel were divided into two parts; half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king, and half followed Omri.
22 Il partito di Omri prevalse su quello di Tibni figlio di Ghinat. Tibni morì e Omri divenne re.	22 But the people who followed Omri overcame the people who followed Tibni the son of Ginath; so Tibni died, and Omri became king.
23 Nell'anno trentunesimo di Asa re di Giuda, divenne re di Israele Omri. Regnò dodici anni, di cui sei in Tirza.	23 In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri began to reign over Israel, and reigned for twelve years; six years he reigned in Tirzah.
24 Poi acquistò il monte Someron da Semer per due talenti d'argento. Costruì sul monte e chiamò la città che ivi edificò Samaria dal nome di Semer, proprietario del monte.	24 He bought the hill of Samaria from Shemer for two talents of silver; and he fortified the hill, and called the name of the city which he built, Samaria, after the name of Shemer, the owner of the hill.
25 Omri fece ciò che è male agli occhi del Signore, peggio di tutti i suoi predecessori.	25 Omri did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, and did more evil than all who were before him.
26 Imitò in tutto la condotta di Geroboamo, figlio di Nebàt, e i peccati che quegli aveva fatto commettere a Israele, provocando con le loro vanità a sdegno il Signore, Dio di Israele.	26 For he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in the sins which he made Israel to sin, provoking the LORD, the God of Israel, to anger by their idols.
27 Le altre gesta di Omri, tutte le sue azioni e le sue prodezze, sono descritte nel libro delle Cronache dei re di Israele.	27 Now the rest of the acts of Omri which he did, and the might that he showed, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
28 Omri si addormentò con i suoi padri e fu sepolto in Samaria. Al suo posto divenne re suo figlio Acab.	28 And Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria; and Ahab his son reigned in his stead.
29 Acab figlio di Omri divenne re su Israele nell'anno trentottesimo di Asa re di Giuda. Acab figlio di Omri regnò su Israele in Samaria ventidue anni.	29 In the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, Ahab the son of Omri began to reign over Israel, and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years.
30 Acab figlio di Omri fece ciò che è male agli occhi del Signore, peggio di tutti i suoi predecessori.	30 And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD more than all that were before him.
31 Non gli bastò imitare il peccato di Geroboamo figlio di Nebàt; ma prese anche in moglie Gezabele figlia di Et-Bàal, re di quelli di Sidone, e si mise a servire Baal e a prostrarsi davanti a lui.	31 And as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, he took for wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshiped him.
32 Eresse un altare a Baal nel tempio di Baal, che egli aveva costruito in Samaria.	32 He erected an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he built in Samaria.
33 Acab eresse anche un palo sacro e compì ancora altre cose irritando il Signore Dio di Israele, più di tutti i re di Israele suoi predecessori.	33 And Ahab made an Asherah. Ahab did more to provoke the LORD, the God of Israel, to anger than all the kings of Israel who were before him.
34 Nei suoi giorni Chiel di Betel ricostruì Gèrico; gettò le fondamenta sopra Abiram suo primogenito e ne innalzò le porte sopra Segub suo ultimogenito, secondo la parola pronunziata dal Signore per mezzo di Giosuè, figlio di Nun.	34 In his days Hiel of Bethel built Jericho; he laid its foundation at the cost of Abiram his first-born, and set up its gates at the cost of his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the LORD, which he spoke by Joshua the son of Nun.
