Levítico 18

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Habló Yahveh a Moisés, diciendo:	1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:
2 Habla a los israelitas, y diles: Yo soy Yahveh vuestro Dios.	2 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "I am Yahweh your God:
3 No hagáis como se hace en la tierra de Egipto, donde habéis habitado, ni hagáis como se hace en la tierra de Canaán a donde os llevo; no debéis seguir sus costumbres.	3 You must not behave as they do in Egypt where you used to live; you must not behave as they do inCanaan where I am taking you, nor must you fol ow their laws.
4 Cumplid mis normas y guardad mis preceptos, caminando según ellos. Yo soy Yahveh, vuestro Dios.	4 You must observe my customs and keep my laws, fol owing them. "I, Yahweh, am your God:
5 Guardad mis preceptos y mis normas. El hombre que los cumpla, por ellos vivirá. Yo, Yahveh.	5 hence you wil keep my laws and my customs. Whoever complies with them wil find life in them. "I amYahweh.
6 Ninguno de vosotros se acerque a una consanguínea suya para descubrir su desnudez. Yo, Yahveh.	6 "None of you wil approach a woman who is closely related to him, to have intercourse with her. I amYahweh.
7 No descubrirás la desnudez de tu padre ni la desnudez de tu madre. Es tu madre; no descubrirás su desnudez.	7 "You wil not have intercourse with your father or your mother. She is your mother -- you wil not haveintercourse with her.
8 No descubrirás la desnudez de la mujer de tu padre; es la misma desnudez de tu padre.	8 "You wil not have intercourse with your father's wife; it is your father's sexual prerogative.
9 No descubrirás la desnudez de tu hermana, hija de tu padre o hija de tu madre, nacida en casa o fuera de ella.	9 "You wil not have intercourse with your sister, whether she is your father's or your mother's daughter.Whether she was born in the same house or elsewhere, you wil not have intercourse with her.
10 No descubrirás la desnudez de la hija de tu hijo o de la hija de tu hija, pues es tu propia desnudez.	10 "You will not have intercourse with your son's or your daughter's daughter; for their sexual privacy isyour own.
11 No descubrirás la desnudez de la hija de la mujer de tu padre, engendrada de tu padre, que es tu hermana.	11 "You will not have intercourse with the daughter of your father's wife, born to your father. She is yoursister; you wil not have intercourse with her.
12 No descubrirás la desnudez de la hermana de tu padre; es carne de tu padre.	12 "You will not have intercourse with your father's sister; for she is your father's own flesh and blood.
13 No descubrirás la desnudez de la hermana de tu madre; es carne de tu madre.	13 "You will not have intercourse with your mother's sister; for she is your mother's own flesh and blood.
14 No descubrirás la desnudez del hermano de tu padre; no te acercarás a su mujer; es la mujer de tu tío.	14 "You will not have intercourse with your father's brother; you wil not approach his wife. She is youraunt.
15 No descubrirás la desnudez de tu nuera, es la mujer de tu hijo; no descubrirás su desnudez.	15 "You will not have intercourse with your daughter-in-law. She is your son's wife; you wil not haveintercourse with her.
16 No descubrirás la desnudez de la mujer de tu hermano; es la desnudez de tu hermano.	16 "You will not have intercourse with your brother's wife; it is your brother's sexual prerogative.
17 No descubrirás la desnudez de una mujer y la de su hija, ni tomarás la hija de su hijo ni la hija de su hija para descubrir su desnudez; son tu propia carne; sería un incesto.	17 "You will not have intercourse with a woman and her daughter; nor wil you take her son's or herdaughter's daughter, to have intercourse with them. They are your own flesh and blood; it would be incest.
18 No tomarás a una mujer juntamente con su hermana, haciéndola rival de ella y descubriendo su desnudez mientras viva la primera.	18 "You will not take a woman and her sister into your harem at the same time, to have intercourse withthe latter while the former is stil alive.
19 Tampoco te acercarás a una mujer durante la impureza menstrual, para descubrir su desnudez.	19 "You will not approach and have intercourse with a woman who is in a state of menstrual pol ution.
20 No te juntes carnalmente con la mujer de tu prójimo, contaminándote con ella.	20 "Furthermore, you will not have intercourse with your fel ow-citizen's wife; you would become uncleanby doing so.
21 No darás ningún hijo tuyo para hacerlo pasar ante Mólek; no profanarás así el nombre de tu Dios. Yo, Yahveh.	21 "You will not al ow any of your children to be sacrificed to Molech, thus profaning the name of yourGod. I am Yahweh.
22 No te acostarás con varón como con mujer; es abominación.	22 "You will not have intercourse with a man as you would with a woman. This is a hateful thing.
23 No te unirás con bestia haciéndote impuro por ella. La mujer no se pondrá ante una bestia para unirse con ella; es una infamia.	23 "You will not have intercourse with any kind of animal; you would become unclean by doing so. Norwil a woman offer herself to an animal, to have intercourse with it. This would be a violation of nature.
24 No os hagáis impuros con ninguna de estas acciones, pues con ellas se han hecho impuras las naciones que yo voy a arrojar ante vosotros.	24 "Do not make yourselves unclean by any of these practices, for it was by such things that the nationsthat I am driving out before you made themselves unclean.
25 Se ha hecho impuro el país; por eso he castigado su iniquidad, y el país ha vomitado a sus habitantes.	25 The country has become unclean; hence I am about to punish it for its guilt, and the country itself willvomit out its inhabitants.
26 Vosotros, pues, guardad mis preceptos y mis normas, y nos cometáis ninguna de estas abominaciones, ni los de vuestro pueblo ni los forasteros que residen entre vosotros.	26 "You, however, must keep my laws and customs and not do any of these hateful things: none of yourcitizens, none of your resident aliens.
27 Porque todas estas abominaciones han cometido los hombres que habitaron el país antes que vosotros, y por eso el país se ha llenado de impurezas.	27 For al these hateful things were done by the people who lived in the country before you, and thecountry became unclean.
28 Y no os vomitará la tierra por vuestras impurezas, del mismo modo que vomitó a las naciones anteriores a vosotros;	28 If you make it unclean, wil it not vomit you out as it vomited out the nations there before you?
29 sino que todos los que cometan una de estas abominaciones, ésos serán exterminados de en medio de su pueblo.	29 Yes, anyone who does any of these hateful things, whatever it may be, any person doing so, wil beoutlawed from his people;
30 Guardad, pues, mis observancias; no practicaréis ninguna de las costumbres abominables que se practicaban antes de vosotros, ni os hagáis impuros con ellas. Yo, Yahveh, vuestro Dios.	30 so keep my rules and do not observe any of the hateful laws which were in force before you came;then you wil not be made unclean by them. I am Yahweh your God." '
