Levítico 18

1 Habló Yahveh a Moisés, diciendo:	1 The LORD said to Moses,
2 Habla a los israelitas, y diles: Yo soy Yahveh vuestro Dios.	2 "Speak to the Israelites and tell them: I, the LORD, am your God.
3 No hagáis como se hace en la tierra de Egipto, donde habéis habitado, ni hagáis como se hace en la tierra de Canaán a donde os llevo; no debéis seguir sus costumbres.	3 You shall not do as they do in the land of Egypt, where you once lived, nor shall you do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you; do not conform to their customs.
4 Cumplid mis normas y guardad mis preceptos, caminando según ellos. Yo soy Yahveh, vuestro Dios.	4 My decrees you shall carry out, and my statutes you shall take care to follow. I, the LORD, am your God.
5 Guardad mis preceptos y mis normas. El hombre que los cumpla, por ellos vivirá. Yo, Yahveh.	5 Keep, then, my statutes and decrees, for the man who carries them out will find life through them. I am the LORD.
6 Ninguno de vosotros se acerque a una consanguínea suya para descubrir su desnudez. Yo, Yahveh.	6 "None of you shall approach a close relative to have sexual intercourse with her. I am the LORD.
7 No descubrirás la desnudez de tu padre ni la desnudez de tu madre. Es tu madre; no descubrirás su desnudez.	7 You shall not disgrace your father by having intercourse with your mother. Besides, since she is your own mother, you shall not have intercourse with her.
8 No descubrirás la desnudez de la mujer de tu padre; es la misma desnudez de tu padre.	8 You shall not have intercourse with your father's wife, for that would be a disgrace to your father.
9 No descubrirás la desnudez de tu hermana, hija de tu padre o hija de tu madre, nacida en casa o fuera de ella.	9 You shall not have intercourse with your sister, your father's daughter or your mother's daughter, whether she was born in your own household or born elsewhere.
10 No descubrirás la desnudez de la hija de tu hijo o de la hija de tu hija, pues es tu propia desnudez.	10 You shall not have intercourse with your son's daughter or with your daughter's daughter, for that would be a disgrace to your own family.
11 No descubrirás la desnudez de la hija de la mujer de tu padre, engendrada de tu padre, que es tu hermana.	11 You shall not have intercourse with the daughter whom your father's wife bore to him, since she, too, is your sister.
12 No descubrirás la desnudez de la hermana de tu padre; es carne de tu padre.	12 You shall not have intercourse with your father's sister, since she is your father's relative.
13 No descubrirás la desnudez de la hermana de tu madre; es carne de tu madre.	13 You shall not have intercourse with your mother's sister, since she is your mother's relative.
14 No descubrirás la desnudez del hermano de tu padre; no te acercarás a su mujer; es la mujer de tu tío.	14 You shall not disgrace your father's brother by being intimate with his wife, since she, too, is your aunt.
15 No descubrirás la desnudez de tu nuera, es la mujer de tu hijo; no descubrirás su desnudez.	15 You shall not have intercourse with your daughter-in-law; she is your son's wife, and therefore you shall not disgrace her.
16 No descubrirás la desnudez de la mujer de tu hermano; es la desnudez de tu hermano.	16 You shall not have intercourse with your brother's wife, for that would be a disgrace to your brother.
17 No descubrirás la desnudez de una mujer y la de su hija, ni tomarás la hija de su hijo ni la hija de su hija para descubrir su desnudez; son tu propia carne; sería un incesto.	17 You shall not have intercourse with a woman and also with her daughter, nor shall you marry and have intercourse with her son's daughter or her daughter's daughter; this would be shameful, because they are related to her.
18 No tomarás a una mujer juntamente con su hermana, haciéndola rival de ella y descubriendo su desnudez mientras viva la primera.	18 While your wife is still living you shall not marry her sister as her rival; for thus you would disgrace your first wife.
19 Tampoco te acercarás a una mujer durante la impureza menstrual, para descubrir su desnudez.	19 "You shall not approach a woman to have intercourse with her while she is unclean from menstruation.
20 No te juntes carnalmente con la mujer de tu prójimo, contaminándote con ella.	20 You shall not have carnal relations with your neighbor's wife, defiling yourself with her.
21 No darás ningún hijo tuyo para hacerlo pasar ante Mólek; no profanarás así el nombre de tu Dios. Yo, Yahveh.	21 You shall not offer any of your offspring to be immolated to Molech, thus profaning the name of your God. I am the LORD.
22 No te acostarás con varón como con mujer; es abominación.	22 You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; such a thing is an abomination.
23 No te unirás con bestia haciéndote impuro por ella. La mujer no se pondrá ante una bestia para unirse con ella; es una infamia.	23 You shall not have carnal relations with an animal, defiling yourself with it; nor shall a woman set herself in front of an animal to mate with it; such things are abhorrent.
24 No os hagáis impuros con ninguna de estas acciones, pues con ellas se han hecho impuras las naciones que yo voy a arrojar ante vosotros.	24 "Do not defile yourselves by any of these things by which the nations whom I am driving out of your way have defiled themselves.
25 Se ha hecho impuro el país; por eso he castigado su iniquidad, y el país ha vomitado a sus habitantes.	25 Because their land has become defiled, I am punishing it for its wickedness, by making it vomit out its inhabitants.
26 Vosotros, pues, guardad mis preceptos y mis normas, y nos cometáis ninguna de estas abominaciones, ni los de vuestro pueblo ni los forasteros que residen entre vosotros.	26 You, however, whether natives or resident aliens, must keep my statutes and decrees forbidding all such abominations
27 Porque todas estas abominaciones han cometido los hombres que habitaron el país antes que vosotros, y por eso el país se ha llenado de impurezas.	27 by which the previous inhabitants defiled the land;
28 Y no os vomitará la tierra por vuestras impurezas, del mismo modo que vomitó a las naciones anteriores a vosotros;	28 otherwise the land will vomit you out also for having defiled it, just as it vomited out the nations before you.
29 sino que todos los que cometan una de estas abominaciones, ésos serán exterminados de en medio de su pueblo.	29 Everyone who does any of these abominations shall be cut off from among his people.
30 Guardad, pues, mis observancias; no practicaréis ninguna de las costumbres abominables que se practicaban antes de vosotros, ni os hagáis impuros con ellas. Yo, Yahveh, vuestro Dios.	30 Heed my charge, then, not to defile yourselves by observing the abominable customs that have been observed before you. I, the LORD, am your God."
