NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 In the beginning was the Word: the Word was with God and the Word was God.	1 في البدء كان الكلمة والكلمة كان عند الله وكان الكلمة الله.
2 He was with God in the beginning.	2 هذا كان في البدء عند الله.
3 Through him al things came into being, not one thing came into being except through him.	3 كل شيء به كان وبغيره لم يكن شيء مما كان.
4 What has come into being in him was life, life that was the light of men;	4 فيه كانت الحياة والحياة كانت نور الناس.
5 and light shines in darkness, and darkness could not overpower it.	5 والنور يضيء في الظلمة والظلمة لم تدركه
6 A man came, sent by God. His name was John.	6 كان انسان مرسل من الله اسمه يوحنا.
7 He came as a witness, to bear witness to the light, so that everyone might believe through him.	7 هذا جاء للشهادة ليشهد للنور لكي يؤمن الكل بواسطته.
8 He was not the light, he was to bear witness to the light.	8 لم يكن هو النور بل ليشهد للنور.
9 The Word was the real light that gives light to everyone; he was coming into the world.	9 كان النور الحقيقي الذي ينير كل انسان آتيا الى العالم.
10 He was in the world that had come into being through him, and the world did not recognise him.	10 كان في العالم وكوّن العالم به ولم يعرفه العالم.
11 He came to his own and his own people did not accept him.	11 الى خاصته جاء وخاصته لم تقبله.
12 But to those who did accept him he gave power to become children of God, to those who believed inhis name	12 واما كل الذين قبلوه فاعطاهم سلطانا ان يصيروا اولاد الله اي المؤمنون باسمه.
13 who were born not from human stock or human desire or human will but from God himself.	13 الذين ولدوا ليس من دم ولا من مشيئة جسد ولا من مشيئة رجل بل من الله
14 The Word became flesh, he lived among us, and we saw his glory, the glory that he has from theFather as only Son of the Father, ful of grace and truth.	14 والكلمة صار جسدا وحلّ بيننا ورأينا مجده مجدا كما لوحيد من الآب مملوءا نعمة وحقا.
15 John witnesses to him. He proclaims: 'This is the one of whom I said: He who comes after me haspassed ahead of me because he existed before me.'	15 يوحنا شهد له ونادى قائلا هذا هو الذي قلت عنه ان الذي يأتي بعدي صار قدامي لانه كان قبلي.
16 Indeed, from his ful ness we have, al of us, received -- one gift replacing another,	16 ومن ملئه نحن جميعا اخذنا. ونعمة فوق نعمة.
17 for the Law was given through Moses, grace and truth have come through Jesus Christ.	17 لان الناموس بموسى اعطي. اما النعمة والحق فبيسوع المسيح صارا.
18 No one has ever seen God; it is the only Son, who is close to the Father's heart, who has made himknown.	18 الله لم يره احد قط. الابن الوحيد الذي هو في حضن الآب هو خبّر
19 This was the witness of John, when the Jews sent to him priests and Levites from Jerusalem to askhim, 'Who are you?'	19 وهذه هي شهادة يوحنا حين ارسل اليهود من اورشليم كهنة ولاويين ليسألوه من انت.
20 He declared, he did not deny but declared, 'I am not the Christ.'	20 فاعترف ولم ينكر واقرّ اني لست انا المسيح.
21 So they asked, 'Then are you Elijah?' He replied, 'I am not.' 'Are you the Prophet?' He answered, 'No.'	21 فسألوه اذا ماذا. ايليا انت. فقال لست انا. النبي انت. فاجاب لا.
22 So they said to him, 'Who are you? We must take back an answer to those who sent us. What haveyou to say about yourself?'	22 فقالوا له من انت لنعطي جوابا للذين ارسلونا. ماذا تقول عن نفسك.
23 So he said, 'I am, as Isaiah prophesied: A voice of one that cries in the desert: Prepare a way for theLord. Make his paths straight!'	23 قال انا صوت صارخ في البرية قوّموا طريق الرب كما قال اشعياء النبي.
24 Now those who had been sent were Pharisees,	24 وكان المرسلون من الفريسيين.
25 and they put this question to him, 'Why are you baptising if you are not the Christ, and not Elijah, andnot the Prophet?'	25 فسألوه وقالوا له فما بالك تعمّد ان كنت لست المسيح ولا ايليا ولا النبي.
26 John answered them, 'I baptise with water; but standing among you -- unknown to you-	26 اجابهم يوحنا قائلا انا اعمد بماء. ولكن في وسطكم قائم الذي لستم تعرفونه.
27 is the one who is coming after me; and I am not fit to undo the strap of his sandal.'	27 هو الذي يأتي بعدي الذي صار قدامي الذي لست بمستحق ان احل سيور حذائه.
28 This happened at Bethany, on the far side of the Jordan, where John was baptising.	28 هذا كان في بيت عبرة في عبر الاردن حيث كان يوحنا يعمد
29 The next day, he saw Jesus coming towards him and said, 'Look, there is the lamb of God that takesaway the sin of the world.	29 وفي الغد نظر يوحنا يسوع مقبلا اليه فقال هوذا حمل الله الذي يرفع خطية العالم.
30 It was of him that I said, "Behind me comes one who has passed ahead of me because he existedbefore me."	30 هذا هو الذي قلت عنه يأتي بعدي رجل صار قدامي لانه كان قبلي.
31 I did not know him myself, and yet my purpose in coming to baptise with water was so that he might berevealed to Israel.'	31 وانا لم اكن اعرفه. لكن ليظهر لاسرائيل لذلك جئت اعمد بالماء.
32 And John declared, 'I saw the Spirit come down on him like a dove from heaven and rest on him.	32 وشهد يوحنا قائلا اني قد رأيت الروح نازلا مثل حمامة من السماء فاستقر عليه.
33 I did not know him myself, but he who sent me to baptise with water had said to me, "The man onwhom you see the Spirit come down and rest is the one who is to baptise with the Holy Spirit."	33 وانا لم اكن اعرفه. لكن الذي ارسلني لاعمد بالماء ذاك قال لي الذي ترى الروح نازلا ومستقرا عليه فهذا هو الذي يعمد بالروح القدس.
34 I have seen and I testify that he is the Chosen One of God.'	34 وانا قد رأيت وشهدت ان هذا هو ابن الله
35 The next day as John stood there again with two of his disciples, Jesus went past,	35 وفي الغد ايضا كان يوحنا واقفا هو واثنان من تلاميذه.
36 and John looked towards him and said, 'Look, there is the lamb of God.'	36 فنظر الى يسوع ماشيا فقال هوذا حمل الله.
37 And the two disciples heard what he said and followed Jesus.	37 فسمعه التلميذان يتكلم فتبعا يسوع.
38 Jesus turned round, saw them following and said, 'What do you want?' They answered, 'Rabbi' --which means Teacher-'where do you live?'	38 فالتفت يسوع ونظرهما يتبعان فقال لهما ماذا تطلبان. فقالا ربي الذي تفسيره يا معلّم اين تمكث.
39 He replied, 'Come and see'; so they went and saw where he lived, and stayed with him that day. It wasabout the tenth hour.	39 فقال لهما تعاليا وانظرا. فأتيا ونظرا اين كان يمكث ومكثا عنده ذلك اليوم. وكان نحو الساعة العاشرة.
40 One of these two who became followers of Jesus after hearing what John had said was Andrew, thebrother of Simon Peter.	40 كان اندراوس اخو سمعان بطرس واحدا من الاثنين اللذين سمعا يوحنا وتبعاه.
41 The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother and say to him, 'We have found the Messiah' -- whichmeans the Christ-	41 هذا وجد اولا اخاه سمعان فقال له قد وجدنا مسيا. الذي تفسيره المسيح.
42 and he took Simon to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, 'You are Simon son of John; you are to becal ed Cephas' -- which means Rock.	42 فجاء به الى يسوع. فنظر اليه يسوع وقال انت سمعان بن يونا. انت تدعى صفا الذي تفسيره بطرس
43 The next day, after Jesus had decided to leave for Galilee, he met Philip and said, 'Follow me.'	43 في الغد اراد يسوع ان يخرج الى الجليل. فوجد فيلبس فقال له اتبعني.
44 Philip came from the same town, Bethsaida, as Andrew and Peter.	44 وكان فيلبس من بيت صيدا من مدينة اندراوس وبطرس.
45 Philip found Nathanael and said to him, 'We have found him of whom Moses in the Law and theprophets wrote, Jesus son of Joseph, from Nazareth.'	45 فيلبس وجد نثنائيل وقال له وجدنا الذي كتب عنه موسى في الناموس والانبياء يسوع ابن يوسف الذي من الناصرة.
46 Nathanael said to him, 'From Nazareth? Can anything good come from that place?' Philip replied,'Come and see.'	46 فقال له نثنائيل أمن الناصرة يمكن ان يكون شيء صالح. قال له فيلبس تعال وانظر
47 When Jesus saw Nathanael coming he said of him, 'There, truly, is an Israelite in whom there is nodeception.'	47 ورأى يسوع نثنائيل مقبلا اليه فقال عنه هوذا اسرائيلي حقا لا غش فيه.
48 Nathanael asked, 'How do you know me?' Jesus replied, 'Before Philip came to call you, I saw youunder the fig tree.'	48 قال له نثنائيل من اين تعرفني. اجاب يسوع وقال له. قبل ان دعاك فيلبس وانت تحت التينة رأيتك.
49 Nathanael answered, 'Rabbi, you are the Son of God, you are the king of Israel.'	49 اجاب نثنائيل وقال له يا معلّم انت ابن الله. انت ملك اسرائيل.
50 Jesus replied, 'You believe that just because I said: I saw you under the fig tree. You are going to seegreater things than that.'	50 اجاب يسوع وقال له هل آمنت لاني قلت لك اني رأيتك تحت التينة. سوف ترى اعظم من هذا.
51 And then he added, 'In al truth I tel you, you will see heaven open and the angels of God ascendingand descending over the Son of man.'	51 وقال له الحق الحق اقول لكم من الآن ترون السماء مفتوحة وملائكة الله يصعدون وينزلون على ابن الانسان
