Luke 22

NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 The feast of Unleavened Bread, cal ed the Passover, was now drawing near,	1 وقرب عيد الفطر الذي يقال له الفصح.
2 and the chief priests and the scribes were looking for some way of doing away with him, because theywere afraid of the people.	2 وكان رؤساء الكهنة والكتبة يطلبون كيف يقتلونه. لانهم خافوا الشعب
3 Then Satan entered into Judas, surnamed Iscariot, who was one of the Twelve.	3 فدخل الشيطان في يهوذا الذي يدعى الاسخريوطي وهو من جملة الاثني عشر.
4 He approached the chief priests and the officers of the guard to discuss some way of handing Jesusover to them.	4 فمضى وتكلم مع رؤساء الكهنة وقواد الجند كيف يسلمه اليهم.
5 They were delighted and agreed to give him money.	5 ففرحوا وعاهدوه ان يعطوه فضة.
6 He accepted and began to look for an opportunity to betray him to them without people knowing aboutit.	6 فواعدهم. وكان يطلب فرصة ليسلمه اليهم خلوا من جمع
7 The day of Unleavened Bread came round, on which the Passover had to be sacrificed,	7 وجاء يوم الفطير الذي كان ينبغي ان يذبح فيه الفصح.
8 and he sent Peter and John, saying, 'Go and make the preparations for us to eat the Passover.'	8 فارسل بطرس ويوحنا قائلا اذهبا واعدّا لنا الفصح لناكل.
9 They asked him, 'Where do you want us to prepare it?'	9 فقالا له اين تريد ان نعدّ.
10 He said to them, 'Look, as you go into the city you wil meet a man carrying a pitcher of water. Fol owhim into the house he enters	10 فقال لهما اذا دخلتما المدينة يستقبلكما انسان حامل جرة ماء. اتبعاه الى البيت حيث يدخل
11 and tel the owner of the house, "The Master says this to you: Where is the room for me to eat thePassover with my disciples?"	11 وقولا لرب البيت يقول لك المعلّم اين المنزل حيث آكل الفصح مع تلاميذي.
12 The man wil show you a large upper room furnished with couches. Make the preparations there.'	12 فذاك يريكما عليّة كبيرة مفروشة. هناك اعدا.
13 They set off and found everything as he had told them and prepared the Passover.	13 فانطلقا ووجدا كما قال لهما. فاعدّا الفصح
14 When the time came he took his place at table, and the apostles with him.	14 ولما كانت الساعة اتكأ والاثنا عشر رسولا معه.
15 And he said to them, 'I have ardently longed to eat this Passover with you before I suffer;	15 وقال لهم شهوة اشتهيت ان آكل هذا الفصح معكم قبل ان اتألم.
16 because, I tel you, I shal not eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.'	16 لاني اقول لكم اني لا آكل منه بعد حتى يكمل في ملكوت الله.
17 Then, taking a cup, he gave thanks and said, 'Take this and share it among you,	17 ثم تناول كاسا وشكر وقال خذوا هذه واقتسموها بينكم.
18 because from now on, I tel you, I shall never again drink wine until the kingdom of God comes.'	18 لاني اقول لكم اني لا اشرب من نتاج الكرمة حتى يأتي ملكوت الله.
19 Then he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, 'This ismy body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.'	19 واخذ خبزا وشكر وكسر واعطاهم قائلا هذا هو جسدي الذي يبذل عنكم. اصنعوا هذا لذكري.
20 He did the same with the cup after supper, and said, 'This cup is the new covenant in my bloodpoured out for you.	20 وكذلك الكاس ايضا بعد العشاء قائلا هذه الكاس هي العهد الجديد بدمي الذي يسفك عنكم.
21 'But look, here with me on the table is the hand of the man who is betraying me.	21 ولكن هوذا يد الذي يسلمني هي معي على المائدة.
22 The Son of man is indeed on the path which was decreed, but alas for that man by whom he isbetrayed!'	22 وابن الانسان ماض كما هو محتوم. ولكن ويل لذلك الانسان الذي يسلمه.
23 And they began to ask one another which of them it could be who was to do this.	23 فابتدأوا يتساءلون فيما بينهم من ترى منهم هو المزمع ان يفعل هذا
24 An argument also began between them about who should be reckoned the greatest;	24 وكانت بينهم ايضا مشاجرة من منهم يظن انه يكون اكبر.
25 but he said to them, 'Among the gentiles it is the kings who lord it over them, and those who haveauthority over them are given the title Benefactor.	25 فقال لهم. ملوك الامم يسودونهم والمتسلطون عليهم يدعون محسنين.
26 With you this must not happen. No; the greatest among you must behave as if he were the youngest,the leader as if he were the one who serves.	26 واما انتم فليس هكذا. بل الكبير فيكم ليكن كالاصغر. والمتقدم كالخادم.
27 For who is the greater: the one at table or the one who serves? The one at table, surely? Yet here amI among you as one who serves!	27 لان من هو اكبر. الذي يتكئ ام الذي يخدم. أليس الذي يتكئ. ولكني انا بينكم كالذي يخدم.
28 'You are the men who have stood by me faithful y in my trials;	28 انتم الذين ثبتوا معي في تجاربي.
29 and now I confer a kingdom on you, just as my Father conferred one on me:	29 وانا اجعل لكم كما جعل لي ابي ملكوتا.
30 you wil eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and you wil sit on thrones to judge the twelve tribesof Israel.	30 لتأكلوا وتشربوا على مائدتي في ملكوتي وتجلسوا على كراسي تدينون اسباط اسرائيل الاثني عشر
31 'Simon, Simon! Look, Satan has got his wish to sift you al like wheat;	31 وقال الرب سمعان سمعان هوذا الشيطان طلبكم لكي يغربلكم كالحنطة.
32 but I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail, and once you have recovered, you inyour turn must strengthen your brothers.'	32 ولكني طلبت من اجلك لكي لا يفنى ايمانك. وانت متى رجعت ثبت اخوتك.
33 'Lord,' he answered, 'I would be ready to go to prison with you, and to death.'	33 فقال له يا رب اني مستعد ان امضي معك حتى الى السجن والى الموت.
34 Jesus replied, 'I tell you, Peter, by the time the cock crows today you wil have denied three times thatyou know me.'	34 فقال اقول لك يا بطرس لا يصيح الديك اليوم قبل ان تنكر ثلاث مرات انك تعرفني
35 He said to them, 'When I sent you out without purse or haversack or sandals, were you short ofanything?'	35 ثم قال لهم حين ارسلتكم بلا كيس ولا مزود ولا احذية هل اعوزكم شيء. فقالوا لا.
36 'No, nothing,' they said. He said to them, 'But now if you have a purse, take it, and the same with ahaversack; if you have no sword, sell your cloak and buy one,	36 فقال لهم لكن الآن من له كيس فليأخذه ومزود كذلك. ومن ليس له فليبع ثوبه ويشتر سيفا.
37 because I tell you these words of scripture are destined to be fulfil ed in me: He was counted as oneof the rebel ious. Yes, what it says about me is even now reaching its fulfilment.'	37 لاني اقول لكم انه ينبغي ان يتم فيّ ايضا هذا المكتوب وأحصي مع اثمة. لان ما هو من جهتي له انقضاء.
38 They said, 'Lord, here are two swords.' He said to them, 'That is enough!'	38 فقالوا يا رب هوذا هنا سيفان. فقال لهم يكفي
39 He then left to make his way as usual to the Mount of Olives, with the disciples fol owing.	39 وخرج ومضى كالعادة الى جبل الزيتون. وتبعه ايضا تلاميذه.
40 When he reached the place he said to them, 'Pray not to be put to the test.'	40 ولما صار الى المكان قال لهم صلّوا لكي لا تدخلوا في تجربة.
41 Then he withdrew from them, about a stone's throw away, and knelt down and prayed.	41 وانفصل عنهم نحو رمية حجر وجثا على ركبتيه وصلّى
42 'Father,' he said, 'if you are wil ing, take this cup away from me. Nevertheless, let your will be done,not mine.'	42 قائلا يا ابتاه ان شئت ان تجيز عني هذه الكاس. ولكن لتكن لا ارادتي بل ارادتك.
43 Then an angel appeared to him, coming from heaven to give him strength.	43 وظهر له ملاك من السماء يقويه.
44 In his anguish he prayed even more earnestly, and his sweat fell to the ground like great drops ofblood.	44 واذ كان في جهاد كان يصلّي باشد لجاجة وصار عرقه كقطرات دم نازلة على الارض.
45 When he rose from prayer he went to the disciples and found them sleeping for sheer grief.	45 ثم قام من الصلاة وجاء الى تلاميذه فوجدهم نياما من الحزن.
46 And he said to them, 'Why are you asleep? Get up and pray not to be put to the test.'	46 فقال لهم لماذا انتم نيام. قوموا وصلّوا لئلا تدخلوا في تجربة
47 Suddenly, while he was still speaking, a number of men appeared, and at the head of them the mancal ed Judas, one of the Twelve, who went up to Jesus to kiss him.	47 وبينما هو يتكلم اذا جمع والذي يدعى يهوذا احد الاثني عشر يتقدمهم فدنا من يسوع ليقبله.
48 Jesus said, 'Judas, are you betraying the Son of man with a kiss?'	48 فقال له يسوع يا يهوذا أبقبلة تسلم ابن الانسان.
49 His followers, seeing what was about to happen, said, 'Lord, shal we use our swords?'	49 فلما رأى الذين حوله ما يكون قالوا يا رب انضرب بالسيف.
50 And one of them struck the high priest's servant and cut off his right ear.	50 وضرب واحد منهم عبد رئيس الكهنة فقطع اذنه اليمنى.
51 But at this Jesus said, 'That is enough.' And touching the man's ear he healed him.	51 فاجاب يسوع وقال دعوا الى هذا. ولمس اذنه وابرأها
52 Then Jesus said to the chief priests and captains of the Temple guard and elders who had come forhim, 'Am I a bandit, that you had to set out with swords and clubs?	52 ثم قال يسوع لرؤساء الكهنة وقواد جند الهيكل والشيوخ المقبلين عليه. كانه على لص خرجتم بسيوف وعصي.
53 When I was among you in the Temple day after day you never made a move to lay hands on me. Butthis is your hour; this is the reign of darkness.'	53 اذ كنت معكم كل يوم في الهيكل لم تمدوا عليّ الايادي. ولكن هذه ساعتكم وسلطان الظلمة
54 They seized him then and led him away, and they took him to the high priest's house. Peter fol owedat a distance.	54 فأخذوه وساقوه وادخلوه الى بيت رئيس الكهنة واما بطرس فتبعه من بعيد.
55 They had lit a fire in the middle of the courtyard and Peter sat down among them,	55 ولما اضرموا نارا في وسط الدار وجلسوا معا جلس بطرس بينهم.
56 and as he was sitting there by the blaze a servant-girl saw him, peered at him, and said, 'This manwas with him too.'	56 فرأته جارية جالسا عند النار فتفرست فيه وقالت وهذا كان معه.
57 But he denied it. 'Woman, I do not know him,' he said.	57 فانكره قائلا لست اعرفه يا امرأة.
58 Shortly afterwards someone else saw him and said, 'You are one of them too.' But Peter replied, 'I amnot, my friend.'	58 وبعد قليل رآه آخر وقال وانت منهم. فقال بطرس يا انسان لست انا.
59 About an hour later another man insisted, saying, 'This fel ow was certainly with him. Why, he is aGalilean.'	59 ولما مضى نحو ساعة واحدة اكّد آخر قائلا بالحق ان هذا ايضا كان معه لانه جليلي ايضا.
60 Peter said, 'My friend, I do not know what you are talking about.' At that instant, while he was stilspeaking, the cock crowed,	60 فقال بطرس يا انسان لست اعرف ما تقول. وفي الحال بينما هو يتكلم صاح الديك.
61 and the Lord turned and looked straight at Peter, and Peter remembered the Lord's words when hehad said to him, 'Before the cock crows today, you will have disowned me three times.'	61 فالتفت الرب ونظر الى بطرس. فتذكر بطرس كلام الرب كيف قال له انك قبل ان يصيح الديك تنكرني ثلاث مرات.
62 And he went outside and wept bitterly.	62 فخرج بطرس الى خارج وبكى بكاء مرا
63 Meanwhile the men who guarded Jesus were mocking and beating him.	63 والرجال الذين كانوا ضابطين يسوع كانوا يستهزئون به وهم يجلدونه.
64 They blindfolded him and questioned him, saying, 'Prophesy! Who hit you then?'	64 وغطوه وكانوا يضربون وجهه ويسألونه قائلين تنبأ. من هو الذي ضربك.
65 And they heaped many other insults on him.	65 واشياء أخر كثيرة كانوا يقولون عليه مجدفين
66 When day broke there was a meeting of the elders of the people, the chief priests and scribes. Hewas brought before their council,	66 ولما كان النهار اجتمعت مشيخة الشعب رؤساء الكهنة والكتبة واصعدوه الى مجمعهم
67 and they said to him, 'If you are the Christ, tel us.' He replied, 'If I tel you, you wil not believe,	67 قائلين ان كنت انت المسيح فقل لنا. فقال لهم ان قلت لكم لا تصدقون.
68 and if I question you, you will not answer.	68 وان سألت لا تجيبونني ولا تطلقونني.
69 But from now on, the Son of man wil be seated at the right hand of the Power of God.'	69 منذ الآن يكون ابن الانسان جالسا عن يمين قوّة الله.
70 They all said, 'So you are the Son of God then?' He answered, 'It is you who say I am.'	70 فقال الجميع أفانت ابن الله. فقال لهم انتم تقولون اني انا هو.
71 Then they said, 'Why do we need any evidence? We have heard it for ourselves from his own lips.'	71 فقالوا ما حاجتنا بعد الى شهادة لاننا نحن سمعنا من فمه
