Mark 15

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 First thing in the morning, the chief priests, together with the elders and scribes and the rest of theSanhedrin, had their plan ready. They had Jesus bound and took him away and handed him over to Pilate.	1 Al mattino i capi dei sacerdoti con gli anziani, gli scribi e tutto il sinedrio tennero consiglio e, fatto legare Gesù, lo condussero e lo consegnarono a Pilato.
2 Pilate put to him this question, 'Are you the king of the Jews?' He replied, 'It is you who say it.'	2 Pilato lo interrogò: "Sei tu il re dei Giudei?". Gli rispose: "Tu lo dici".
3 And the chief priests brought many accusations against him.	3 I capi dei sacerdoti lo accusavano di molte cose.
4 Pilate questioned him again, 'Have you no reply at al ? See how many accusations they are bringingagainst you!'	4 Perciò Pilato lo interrogò di nuovo: "Non rispondi nulla? Vedi di quante cose ti accusano!".
5 But, to Pilate's surprise, Jesus made no further reply.	5 Ma Gesù non rispose più nulla, sicché Pilato ne restò meravigliato.
6 At festival time Pilate used to release a prisoner for them, any one they asked for.	6 Questi soleva, in ogni festività, rilasciare un prigioniero: quello che gli avessero chiesto.
7 Now a man called Barabbas was then in prison with the rebels who had committed murder during theuprising.	7 Intanto ve n'era uno chiamato Barabba, il quale era stato imprigionato insieme ai sediziosi che, durante una sommossa, avevano commesso un omicidio.
8 When the crowd went up and began to ask Pilate the customary favour,	8 Salì, perciò, la folla e incominciò a reclamare ciò che le si soleva concedere.
9 Pilate answered them, 'Do you want me to release for you the king of the Jews?'	9 Pilato, allora, rispose loro: "Volete che vi liberi il re dei Giudei?".
10 For he realised it was out of jealousy that the chief priests had handed Jesus over.	10 Egli, infatti, sapeva che per invidia i capi dei sacerdoti glielo avevano consegnato.
11 The chief priests, however, had incited the crowd to demand that he should release Barabbas forthem instead.	11 Ma i capi dei sacerdoti aizzarono la folla, affinché rilasciasse loro piuttosto Barabba.
12 Then Pilate spoke again, 'But in that case, what am I to do with the man you call king of the Jews?'	12 Pilato, allora, prendendo di nuovo la parola, domandò loro: "Che cosa, dunque, volete che faccia di colui che voi chiamate il re dei Giudei?".
13 They shouted back, 'Crucify him!'	13 Quelli gridarono di nuovo: "Crocifiggilo!".
14 Pilate asked them, 'What harm has he done?' But they shouted al the louder, 'Crucify him!'	14 Ma Pilato disse loro: "Che male ha fatto?". Quelli, allora gridarono più forte: "Crocifiggilo!".
15 So Pilate, anxious to placate the crowd, released Barabbas for them and, after having Jesusscourged, he handed him over to be crucified.	15 Pilato, perciò, volendo dare soddisfazione alla folla, rilasciò loro Barabba e consegnò Gesù perché, dopo averlo flagellato, fosse crocifisso.
16 The soldiers led him away to the inner part of the palace, that is, the Praetorium, and cal ed thewhole cohort together.	16 Allora i soldati lo condussero dentro il cortile, cioè nel pretorio e, convocata l'intera coorte,
17 They dressed him up in purple, twisted some thorns into a crown and put it on him.	17 lo rivestirono di porpora e gli cinsero il capo intrecciandogli una corona di spine.
18 And they began saluting him, 'Hail, king of the Jews!'	18 Quindi incominciarono a salutarlo: "Salve, re dei Giudei!",
19 They struck his head with a reed and spat on him; and they went down on their knees to do himhomage.	19 mentre con una canna gli battevano il capo, gli sputavano addosso e, piegando le ginocchia, gli facevano riverenza.
20 And when they had finished making fun of him, they took off the purple and dressed him in his ownclothes. They led him out to crucify him.	20 Dopo averlo schernito, lo spogliarono della porpora e lo rivestirono delle sue vesti. Mentre lo conducevano fuori per crocifiggerlo,
21 They enlisted a passer-by, Simon of Cyrene, father of Alexander and Rufus, who was coming in fromthe country, to carry his cross.	21 costrinsero un passante che tornava dai campi, Simone di Cirene, padre di Alessandro e Rufo, a portare la croce di lui.
22 They brought Jesus to the place cal ed Golgotha, which means the place of the skul .	22 Lo condussero, così, al luogo detto Gòlgota, che significa luogo del Cranio.
23 They offered him wine mixed with myrrh, but he refused it.	23 Volevano anche dargli del vino aromatizzato con mirra, ma egli non lo prese.
24 Then they crucified him, and shared out his clothing, casting lots to decide what each should get.	24 Perciò lo crocifissero e si divisero le sue vesti, gettando sopra di esse la sorte per quel che ciascuno dovesse prendersi.
25 It was the third hour when they crucified him.	25 Era l'ora terza quando lo crocifissero,
26 The inscription giving the charge against him read, 'The King of the Jews'.	26 e l'iscrizione con la causa della condanna recava scritto: "Il re dei Giudei".
27 And they crucified two bandits with him, one on his right and one on his left.	27 Insieme a lui crocifissero pure due ladroni, uno alla sua destra e l'altro alla sua sinistra (
28	28 e si adempì la Scrittura che dice: "Fu computato con gli iniqui").
29 The passers-by jeered at him; they shook their heads and said, 'Aha! So you would destroy theTemple and rebuild it in three days!	29 Quelli che passavano lo insultavano, scuotendo il capo e dicendo: "Eh! tu che distruggi il tempio e in tre giorni lo riedifichi,
30 Then save yourself; come down from the cross!'	30 salva te stesso, scendendo dalla croce".
31 The chief priests and the scribes mocked him among themselves in the same way with the words,'He saved others, he cannot save himself.	31 Similmente anche i capi dei sacerdoti con gli scribi si facevano beffe di lui dicendo tra loro: "Ha salvato gli altri, non può salvare se stesso.
32 Let the Christ, the king of Israel, come down from the cross now, for us to see it and believe.' Eventhose who were crucified with him taunted him.	32 Il Cristo, il re d'Israele, scenda ora dalla croce, affinché vediamo e crediamo". Perfino quelli che erano stati crocifissi con lui lo insultavano.
33 When the sixth hour came there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.	33 Giunta l'ora sesta, si fece buio su tutta la terra fino all'ora nona.
34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, 'Eloi, eloi, lama sabachthani?' which means, 'MyGod, my God, why have you forsaken me?'	34 All'ora nona, Gesù esclamò a gran voce: "Eloì, Eloì, lamà sabactanì", che si traduce: "Dio mio, Dio mio, perché mi hai abbandonato?".
35 When some of those who stood by heard this, they said, 'Listen, he is cal ing on Elijah.'	35 Allora alcuni dei presenti, uditolo, dicevano: "Ecco, invoca Elia".
36 Someone ran and soaked a sponge in vinegar and, putting it on a reed, gave it to him to drink saying,'Wait! And see if Elijah wil come to take him down.'	36 Un tale corse ad inzuppare una spugna di aceto, la pose su una canna e gli dava da bere, dicendo: "Lasciate, vediamo se viene Elia a tirarlo giù".
37 But Jesus gave a loud cry and breathed his last.	37 Ma Gesù, emesso un grande grido, spirò.
38 And the veil of the Sanctuary was torn in two from top to bottom.	38 Allora il velo del tempio si squarciò in due, dall'alto fino al basso.
39 The centurion, who was standing in front of him, had seen how he had died, and he said, 'In truth thisman was Son of God.'	39 E il centurione che gli stava di fronte, vistolo spirare gridando a quel modo, esclamò: "Davvero quest'uomo era Figlio di Dio!".
40 There were some women watching from a distance. Among them were Mary of Magdala, Mary whowas the mother of James the younger and Joset, and Salome.	40 Vi erano pure alcune donne che stavano osservando da lontano. Tra esse: Maria Maddalena, Maria madre di Giacomo il Minore e di Giuseppe, e Salome,
41 These used to follow him and look after him when he was in Galilee. And many other women werethere who had come up to Jerusalem with him.	41 le quali lo avevano seguito e servito quando era in Galilea, e molte altre che erano salite con lui a Gerusalemme.
42 It was now evening, and since it was Preparation Day -- that is, the day before the Sabbath-	42 Fattasi ormai sera, poiché era la Parasceve, vale a dire il giorno prima del sabato,
43 there came Joseph of Arimathaea, a prominent member of the Council, who himself lived in the hopeof seeing the kingdom of God, and he boldly went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus.	43 Giuseppe d'Arimatea, distinto membro del consiglio, il quale aspettava anch'egli il regno di Dio, venne, si fece coraggio, entrò da Pilato e gli chiese il corpo di Gesù.
44 Pilate, astonished that he should have died so soon, summoned the centurion and enquired if he hadbeen dead for some time.	44 Pilato si meravigliò che fosse già morto. Perciò, chiamato il centurione, gli domandò se fosse morto da tempo.
45 Having been assured of this by the centurion, he granted the corpse to Joseph	45 Informato dal centurione, concesse il cadavere a Giuseppe,
46 who bought a shroud, took Jesus down from the cross, wrapped him in the shroud and laid him in atomb which had been hewn out of the rock. He then rol ed a stone against the entrance to the tomb.	46 il quale, comprato un panno di lino, fece deporre Gesù, lo avvolse col panno di lino e lo pose in un sepolcro che era stato tagliato nella roccia. 47 Mary of Magdala and Mary the mother of Joset took note of where he was laid.	47 mentre Maria Maddalena e Maria di Giuseppe stavano ad osservare dove veniva deposto.
