1 'Do not judge, and you will not be judged;	1 «No juzguéis, para que no seáis juzgados.
2 because the judgements you give are the judgements you wil get, and the standard you use wil be thestandard used for you.	2 Porque con el juicio con que juzguéis seréis juzgados, y con la medida con que midáis se os medirá.
3 Why do you observe the splinter in your brother's eye and never notice the great log in your own?	3 ¿Cómo es que miras la brizna que hay en el ojo de tu hermano, y no reparas en la viga que hay en tu ojo?
4 And how dare you say to your brother, "Let me take that splinter out of your eye," when, look, there is agreat log in your own?	4 ¿O cómo vas a decir a tu hermano: “Deja que te saque la brizna del ojo”, teniendo la viga en el tuyo?
5 Hypocrite! Take the log out of your own eye first, and then you wil see clearly enough to take thesplinter out of your brother's eye.	5 Hipócrita, saca primero la viga de tu ojo, y entonces podrás ver para sacar la brizna del ojo de tu hermano.
6 'Do not give dogs what is holy; and do not throw your pearls in front of pigs, or they may trample themand then turn on you and tear you to pieces.	6 «No deis a los perros lo que es santo, ni echéis vuestras perlas delante de los puercos, no sea que las pisoteen con sus patas, y después, volviéndose, os despedacen.
7 'Ask, and it wil be given to you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.	7 «Pedid y se os dará; buscad y hallaréis; llamad y se os abrirá.
8 Everyone who asks receives; everyone who searches finds; everyone who knocks will have the dooropened.	8 Porque todo el que pide recibe; el que busca, halla; y al llama, se le abrirá.
9 Is there anyone among you who would hand his son a stone when he asked for bread?	9 ¿O hay acaso alguno entre vosotros que al hijo que le pide pan le dé una piedra;
10 Or would hand him a snake when he asked for a fish?	10 o si le pide un pez, le dé una culebra?
11 If you, then, evil as you are, know how to give your children what is good, how much more wil yourFather in heaven give good things to those who ask him!	11 Si, pues, vosotros, siendo malos, sabéis dar cosas buenas a vuestros hijos, ¡cuánto más vuestro Padre que está en los cielos dará cosas buenas a los que se las pidan!
12 'So always treat others as you would like them to treat you; that is the Law and the Prophets.	12 «Por tanto, todo cuanto queráis que os hagan los hombres, hacédselo también vosotros a ellos; porque ésta es la Ley y los Profetas.
13 'Enter by the narrow gate, since the road that leads to destruction is wide and spacious, and manytake it;	13 «Entrad por la entrada estrecha; porque ancha es la entrada y espacioso el camino que lleva a la perdición, y son muchos los que entran por ella;
14 but it is a narrow gate and a hard road that leads to life, and only a few find it.	14 mas ¡qué estrecha la entrada y qué angosto el camino que lleva a la Vida!; y poco son los que lo encuentran.
15 'Beware of false prophets who come to you disguised as sheep but underneath are ravenous wolves.	15 «Guardaos de los falsos profetas, que vienen a vosotros con disfraces de ovejas, pero por dentro son lobos rapaces.
16 You wil be able to tel them by their fruits. Can people pick grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?	16 Por sus frutos los conoceréis. ¿Acaso se recogen uvas de los espinos o higos de los abrojos?
17 In the same way, a sound tree produces good fruit but a rotten tree bad fruit.	17 Así, todo árbol bueno da frutos buenos, pero el árbol malo da frutos malos.
18 A sound tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor a rotten tree bear good fruit.	18 Un árbol bueno no puede producir frutos malos, ni un árbol malo producir frutos buenos.
19 Any tree that does not produce good fruit is cut down and thrown on the fire.	19 Todo árbol que no da buen fruto, es cortado y arrojado al fuego.
20 I repeat, you wil be able to tel them by their fruits.	20 Así que por sus frutos los reconoceréis.
21 'It is not anyone who says to me, "Lord, Lord," who wil enter the kingdom of Heaven, but the personwho does the wil of my Father in heaven.	21 «No todo el que me diga: “Señor, Señor, entrará en el Reino de los Cielos, sino el que haga la voluntad de mi Padre celestial.
22 When the day comes many wil say to me, "Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, drive outdemons in your name, work many miracles in your name?"	22 Muchos me dirán aquel Día: “Señor, Señor, ¿no profetizamos en tu nombre, y en tu nombre expulsamos demonios, y en tu nombre hicimos muchos milagros?”
23 Then I shal tel them to their faces: I have never known you; away from me, al evil doers!	23 Y entonces les declararé: “¡Jamás os conocí; apartaos de mí, agentes de iniquidad!”
24 'Therefore, everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a sensible man who built his house on rock.	24 «Así pues, todo el que oiga estas palabras mías y las ponga en práctica, será como el hombre prudente que edificó su casa sobre roca:
25 Rain came down, floods rose, gales blew and hurled themselves against that house, and it did not fal :it was founded on rock.	25 cayó la lluvia, vinieron los torrentes, soplaron los vientos, y embistieron contra aquella casa; pero ella no cayó, porque estaba cimentada sobre roca.
26 But everyone who listens to these words of mine and does not act on them will be like a stupid manwho built his house on sand.	26 Y todo el que oiga estas palabras mías y no las ponga en práctica, será como el hombre insensato que edificó su casa sobre arena:
27 Rain came down, floods rose, gales blew and struck that house, and it fell; and what a fall it had!'	27 cayó la lluvia, vinieron los torrentes, soplaron los vientos, irrumpieron contra aquella casa y cayó, y fue grande su ruina».
28 Jesus had now finished what he wanted to say, and his teaching made a deep impression on thepeople	28 Y sucedió que cuando acabó Jesús estos discursos, la gente quedaba asombrada de su doctrina;
29 because he taught them with authority, unlike their own scribes.	29 porque les enseñaba como quien tiene autoridad, y no como sus escribas.
