Zechariah 4

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 The angel who was talking to me came back and roused me as though rousing someone who wasasleep.	1 L'ange qui me parlait revint et me réveilla comme un homme qui est tiré de son sommeil.
2 And he asked me, 'What do you see?' I replied, 'As I look, there is a lamp-stand entirely of gold with abowl at the top of it; it holds seven lamps, with seven openings for the lamps on it.	2 Et il me dit: "Que vois-tu?" Je répondis: "Je regarde, et voici: il y a un lampadaire tout en or, avecun réservoir à son sommet; sept lampes sont sur le lampadaire ainsi que sept becs pour les lampes qui sontdessus.
3 By it are two olive trees, one to the right and the other to the left.'	3 Près de lui sont deux oliviers, l'un à sa droite, l'autre à sa gauche."
4 I then said to the angel who was talking to me, 'What are those things, my lord?'	4 Prenant la parole, je dis à l'ange qui me parlait: "Que signifient ces choses, mon Seigneur?"
5 The angel who was talking to me replied, 'Do you not know what they are?' I said, 'No, my lord.'	5 L'ange qui me parlait me répondit: "Ne sais-tu pas ce que signifient ces choses?" Je dis: "Non, monSeigneur."
6 He then gave me this answer,'These seven are the eyes of Yahweh, which range over the whole world.'	6 Alors il me répondit en ces termes: Voici la parole de Yahvé touchant Zorobabel: Ce n'est pas parla puissance, ni par la force, mais par mon Esprit - dit Yahvé Sabaot.
7 'What are you, great mountain? Beside Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! He wil bring out thekeystone while it is cheered with Hurrah! Hurrah!'	7 Qu'es-tu, grande montagne? Devant Zorobabel, deviens une plaine! Il arrachera la pierre de faîte,tandis qu'on criera: "Bravo, bravo pour elle!"
8 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,	8 La parole de Yahvé me fut adressée en ces termes:
9 'The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this Temple; his hands wil finish it. (Then you wilknow that Yahweh Sabaoth has sent me to you.)	9 Les mains de Zorobabel ont fondé ce Temple: ses mains l'achèveront. (Et vous saurez que YahvéSabaot m'a envoyé vers vous.)
10 A day of little things, no doubt, but who would dare despise it? How they wil rejoice when they see thechosen stone in the hands of Zerubbabel!'	10 Car qui donc méprisait ce jour d'événements minimes? On se réjouira en voyant la pierre choisieen la main de Zorobabel. "Ces sept-là sont les yeux de Yahvé, ils vont par toute la terre."
11 Then I went on to ask him, 'What is the meaning of these two olive trees, to right and left of the lamp-stand?'	11 Je pris alors la parole et lui dis: "Que signifient ces deux oliviers, à droite du chandelier et à sagauche?"
12 (And I went on to ask him further, 'What is the meaning of the two olive branches discharging oilthrough the two golden openings?')	12 (Je repris la parole et lui dis: "Que signifient les deux branches d'olivier qui, par les deux tuyauxd'or, dispensent l'huile"?)
13 He replied, 'Do you not know what they are?' I said, 'No, my lord.'	13 Il me répondit: "Ne sais-tu pas ce que signifient ces choses?" Je dis: "Non, mon Seigneur."
14 He said, 'These are the two anointed ones in attendance on the Lord of the whole world. This is theword of Yahweh with regard to Zerubbabel, 'Not by might and not by power, but by my spirit' -- says YahwehSabaoth.	14 Il dit: "Ce sont les deux Oints qui se tiennent devant le Seigneur de toute la terre."
