Leviticus 20

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA CEI 2008
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 Il Signore parlò a Mosè e disse:
2 'Say to the Israelites: "Anyone, be he Israelite or alien resident in Israel, who gives any of his childrento Molech, wil be put to death. The people of the country must stone him,	2 «Dirai agli Israeliti: “Chiunque tra gli Israeliti o tra i forestieri che dimorano in Israele darà qualcuno dei suoi figli a Moloc, dovrà essere messo a morte; il popolo della terra lo lapiderà.
3 and I shall set my face against that man and outlaw him from his people; for by giving a child of his toMolech he has defiled my sanctuary and profaned my holy name.	3 Anch’io volgerò il mio volto contro quell’uomo e lo eliminerò dal suo popolo, perché ha dato qualcuno dei suoi figli a Moloc, con l’intenzione di rendere impuro il mio santuario e profanare il mio santo nome.
4 If the people of the country choose to close their eyes to the man's action when he gives a child of histo Molech, and do not put him to death,	4 Se il popolo della terra chiude gli occhi quando quell’uomo dà qualcuno dei suoi figli a Moloc e non lo mette a morte,
5 I myself shal turn my face against that man and his clan. I shal outlaw them from their people, bothhim and all those after him who prostitute themselves by fol owing Molech.	5 io volgerò il mio volto contro quell’uomo e contro la sua famiglia ed eliminerò dal suo popolo lui con quanti si danno all’idolatria come lui, prostituendosi a venerare Moloc.
6 "If anyone has recourse to the spirits of the dead or to magicians, to prostitute himself by followingthem, I shal set my face against him and outlaw him from his people.	6 Se un uomo si rivolge ai negromanti e agli indovini, per darsi alle superstizioni dietro a loro, io volgerò il mio volto contro quella persona e la eliminerò dal suo popolo.
7 "Sanctify yourselves and be holy, for I am Yahweh your God.	7 Santificatevi dunque e siate santi, perché io sono il Signore, vostro Dio.
8 "You wil keep my laws and put them into practice, for it is I, Yahweh, who make you holy.	8 Osservate le mie leggi e mettetele in pratica. Io sono il Signore che vi santifica.
9 Hence: "Anyone who curses father or mother wil be put to death. Having cursed father or mother, theblood wil be on that person's own head.	9 Chiunque maledice suo padre o sua madre dovrà essere messo a morte; ha maledetto suo padre o sua madre: il suo sangue ricadrà su di lui.
10 "The man who commits adultery with his neighbour's wife wil be put to death, he and the woman.	10 Se uno commette adulterio con la moglie del suo prossimo, l’adultero e l’adultera dovranno esser messi a morte.
11 "The man who has intercourse with his father's wife has infringed his father's sexual prerogative. Bothof them wil be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.	11 Se uno ha rapporti con una moglie di suo padre, egli scopre la nudità del padre; tutti e due dovranno essere messi a morte: il loro sangue ricadrà su di loro.
12 "The man who has intercourse with his daughter-in-law: both of them wil be put to death; they haveviolated nature, their blood wil be on their own heads.	12 Se uno ha rapporti con la nuora, tutti e due dovranno essere messi a morte; hanno commesso una perversione: il loro sangue ricadrà su di loro.
13 "The man who has intercourse with a man in the same way as with a woman: they have done ahateful thing together; they wil be put to death; their blood wil be on their own heads.	13 Se uno ha rapporti con un uomo come con una donna, tutti e due hanno commesso un abominio; dovranno essere messi a morte: il loro sangue ricadrà su di loro.
14 "The man who marries a woman and her mother: this is incest. They wil be burnt alive, he and they;you wil not tolerate incest.	14 Se uno prende in moglie la figlia e la madre, è un’infamia; si bruceranno con il fuoco lui e loro, perché non ci sia fra voi tale delitto.
15 "The man who has intercourse with an animal will be put to death; you wil kil the animal too.	15 L’uomo che si accoppia con una bestia dovrà essere messo a morte; dovrete uccidere anche la bestia.
16 "The woman who approaches any animal to have intercourse with it: you will kil the woman and theanimal. They wil be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.	16 Se una donna si accosta a una bestia per accoppiarsi con essa, ucciderai la donna e la bestia; tutte e due dovranno essere messe a morte: il loro sangue ricadrà su di loro.
17 "The man who marries his father's or his mother's daughter: if they have intercourse together, this isan outrage. They wil be executed in public, for the man has had intercourse with his sister; he wil bear theconsequences of his guilt.	17 Se uno prende la propria sorella, figlia di suo padre o figlia di sua madre, e vede la nudità di lei e lei vede la nudità di lui, è un disonore; tutti e due saranno eliminati alla presenza dei figli del loro popolo. Quel tale ha scoperto la nudità della propria sorella: dovrà portare la pena della sua colpa.
18 "The man who has intercourse with a woman during her monthly periods and exposes hernakedness: he has laid bare the source of her blood, and she has exposed the source of her blood, and both ofthem wil be outlawed from their people.	18 Se uno ha un rapporto con una donna durante le sue mestruazioni e ne scopre la nudità, quel tale ha scoperto il flusso di lei e lei ha scoperto il flusso del proprio sangue; perciò tutti e due saranno eliminati dal loro popolo.
19 "You will not have intercourse with your mother's sister or your father's sister. Whoever does so, hashad intercourse with a close relation; they wil bear the consequences of their guilt.	19 Non scoprirai la nudità della sorella di tua madre o della sorella di tuo padre; chi lo fa scopre la sua stessa carne: tutti e due porteranno la pena della loro colpa.
20 "The man who has intercourse with the wife of his paternal uncle has infringed his uncle's sexualprerogative; they wil bear the consequences of their guilt and die childless.	20 Se uno ha rapporti con la moglie di suo zio, scopre la nudità di suo zio; tutti e due porteranno la pena del loro peccato: dovranno morire senza figli.
21 "The man who marries his brother's wife: this is pol ution; he has infringed his brother's sexualprerogative; they wil die childless.	21 Se uno prende la moglie del fratello, è un’impurità; egli ha scoperto la nudità del fratello: non avranno figli.
22 "You will keep al my laws, al my decisions, and put them into practice, so that the country where Iam taking you to live wil not vomit you out.	22 Osserverete dunque tutte le mie leggi e tutte le mie prescrizioni e le metterete in pratica, perché la terra dove io vi conduco per abitarla non vi vomiti.
23 You wil not fol ow the laws of the nations whom I am driving out before you; they practised al thesethings, which is why I detested them.	23 Non seguirete le usanze delle nazioni che io sto per scacciare dinanzi a voi; esse hanno fatto tutte quelle cose, perciò ho disgusto di esse
24 As I have already told you, you wil take possession of their soil, I myself shal give you possession ofit, a country flowing with milk and honey. "Since I, Yahweh your God, have set you apart from these peoples,	24 e vi ho detto: Voi possederete il loro suolo; ve lo darò in proprietà. È una terra dove scorrono latte e miele. Io il Signore, vostro Dio, vi ho separato dagli altri popoli.
25 you for your part wil make a distinction between clean animals and unclean ones and betweenunclean birds and clean ones, and wil not make yourselves detestable with any animal or bird or reptile, which Ihave set apart from you as unclean.	25 Farete dunque distinzione tra animali puri e impuri, fra uccelli impuri e puri e non vi contaminerete, mangiando animali, uccelli o esseri che strisciano sulla terra e che io vi ho fatto separare come impuri.
26 "Be consecrated to me, for I, Yahweh, am holy, and I shall set you apart from all these peoples, foryou to be mine.	26 Sarete santi per me, poiché io, il Signore, sono santo e vi ho separato dagli altri popoli, perché siate miei.
27 "Any man or woman of yours who is a necromancer or magician will be put to death; they wil bestoned to death; their blood wil be on their own heads." '	27 Se uomo o donna, in mezzo a voi, eserciteranno la negromanzia o la divinazione, dovranno essere messi a morte: saranno lapidati e il loro sangue ricadrà su di loro”».
