Leviticus 20

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 Il Signore parlò a Mose, dicendo:
2 'Say to the Israelites: "Anyone, be he Israelite or alien resident in Israel, who gives any of his childrento Molech, wil be put to death. The people of the country must stone him,	2 Dirai ai figli d'Israele: Chiunque dei figli d'Israele o dei forestieri che abitano in Israele darà dei suoi figlioli a Moloc, sarà messo a morte e il popolo del paese lo lapiderà.
3 and I shall set my face against that man and outlaw him from his people; for by giving a child of his toMolech he has defiled my sanctuary and profaned my holy name.	3 E anch'io metterò la mia faccia contro di lui, e lo schianterò di mezzo al suo popolo, perchè ha dato dei suoi figli a Moloc, ha contaminato il mio Santuario, ha profanato il mio santo nome.
4 If the people of the country choose to close their eyes to the man's action when he gives a child of histo Molech, and do not put him to death,	4 E se il popolo del paese, trascurando e facendo poco conto del mio comando, lascerà libero l'uomo che ha dato dei suoi figli a Moloc, e non lo mette a morte,
5 I myself shal turn my face against that man and his clan. I shal outlaw them from their people, bothhim and all those after him who prostitute themselves by fol owing Molech.	5 io metterò la mia faccia contro quell'uomo, contro la sua parentela, e schianterò di mezzo al popolo lui e tutti quelli che hanno acconsentito a farlo fornicare con Moloc.
6 "If anyone has recourse to the spirits of the dead or to magicians, to prostitute himself by followingthem, I shal set my face against him and outlaw him from his people.	6 Se uno si rivolgerà ai maghi e agli indovini e fornicherà con essi, io rivolterò contro di lui la mia faccia e lo sterminerò di mezzo al suo popolo.
7 "Sanctify yourselves and be holy, for I am Yahweh your God.	7 Santificatevi adunque e siate santi, perchè io sono il Signore Dio vostro.
8 "You wil keep my laws and put them into practice, for it is I, Yahweh, who make you holy.	8 Osservate i miei precetti e metteteli in pratica. Io sono il Signore che vi santifico.
9 Hence: "Anyone who curses father or mother wil be put to death. Having cursed father or mother, theblood wil be on that person's own head.	9 Chi avrà maledetto suo padre o sua madre sia punito di morte: ha maledetto il padre e la madre: il suo sangue sia sopra di lui.
10 "The man who commits adultery with his neighbour's wife wil be put to death, he and the woman.	10 Se uno fornicherà colla donna d'un altro e commetterà adulterio colla moglie del suo prossimo, sian messi a morte adultero e adultera.
11 "The man who has intercourse with his father's wife has infringed his father's sexual prerogative. Bothof them wil be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.	11 Se uno, scoprendo così l'ignominia di suo padre, peccherà colla matrigna, sian messi a morte ambedue, e il loro sangue sia sopra di essi.
12 "The man who has intercourse with his daughter-in-law: both of them wil be put to death; they haveviolated nature, their blood wil be on their own heads.	12 Se uno pecca colla sua nuora, siano messi a morte ambedue, perchè han fatto una cosa scolerata, e il loro sangue sia sopra di essi
13 "The man who has intercourse with a man in the same way as with a woman: they have done ahateful thing together; they wil be put to death; their blood wil be on their own heads.	13 Se uno pecca con un maschio come se questo fosse una donna, avendo tutt'e due fatta una cosa esecranda, sian puniti di morte, e il loro sangue sia sopra di essi.
14 "The man who marries a woman and her mother: this is incest. They wil be burnt alive, he and they;you wil not tolerate incest.	14 Chi fa la sceleraggine di sposare anche la madre, dopo avere sposata la figlia, sarà bruciato vivo con esse, nè si tollererà tra voi tanta sceleratezza.
15 "The man who has intercourse with an animal will be put to death; you wil kil the animal too.	15 Chi pecca con un animale sia messo a morte e sia ucciso anche l'animale.
16 "The woman who approaches any animal to have intercourse with it: you will kil the woman and theanimal. They wil be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.	16 La donna che peccherà con un animale, sarà messa a morte con esso, e il loro; sangue sia sopra di essi.
17 "The man who marries his father's or his mother's daughter: if they have intercourse together, this isan outrage. They wil be executed in public, for the man has had intercourse with his sister; he wil bear theconsequences of his guilt.	17 Se uno prende la sua sorella, figlia di suo padre o di sua madre, e ne vede la nudità ed essa guarda la nudità del suo fratello, han fatto una cosa esecranda: saranno uccisi alla presenza del loro popolo, perchè hanno scambievolmente scoperta la loro nudità, e porteranno la loro iniquità.
18 "The man who has intercourse with a woman during her monthly periods and exposes hernakedness: he has laid bare the source of her blood, and she has exposed the source of her blood, and both ofthem wil be outlawed from their people.	18 Chi s'accosta ad una donna che ha i suoi corsi e scopre la nudità di lei, ed essa fa vedere il flusso del sangue, ambedue saranno sterminati di mezzo al loro popolo.
19 "You will not have intercourse with your mother's sister or your father's sister. Whoever does so, hashad intercourse with a close relation; they wil bear the consequences of their guilt.	19 Non scoprirai la nudità della tua zia materna o paterna: chi fa questo scopre l'ignominia della sua carne; e tutt'e due porteranno la loro iniquità.
20 "The man who has intercourse with the wife of his paternal uncle has infringed his uncle's sexualprerogative; they wil bear the consequences of their guilt and die childless.	20 Se uno pecca colla moglie del suo zio paterno o materno e scopre così l'ignominia della sua parentela, ambedue porteranno il loro peccato: morranno senza figli.
21 "The man who marries his brother's wife: this is pol ution; he has infringed his brother's sexualprerogative; they wil die childless.	21 Chi sposa la moglie, di suo fratello fa cosa illecita: ha rivelato l'ignominia di suo fratello: non avranno figli.
22 "You will keep al my laws, al my decisions, and put them into practice, so that the country where Iam taking you to live wil not vomit you out.	22 Osservate le mie leggi, i miei comandamenti e metteteli in pratica, affinché la terra ove entrerete per abitarvi, non vomiti anche voi.
23 You wil not fol ow the laws of the nations whom I am driving out before you; they practised al thesethings, which is why I detested them.	23 Non fate secondo i costumi delle nazioni che sto per cacciare dal vostro cospetto. Siccome han commesso tutte queste cose, io le ho avute in abbominio,
24 As I have already told you, you wil take possession of their soil, I myself shal give you possession ofit, a country flowing with milk and honey. "Since I, Yahweh your God, have set you apart from these peoples,	24 e dico a voi: Possedete la loro terra che io vi darò in eredità, terra che stilla latte e miele. Io sono il Signore vostro Dio che vi ho separati da tutti gli altri popoli.
25 you for your part wil make a distinction between clean animals and unclean ones and betweenunclean birds and clean ones, and wil not make yourselves detestable with any animal or bird or reptile, which Ihave set apart from you as unclean.	25 Così voi separerete la bestia monda dall'immonda, l'uccello puro dall'impuro: non contaminate le vostre anime mangiando animali, uccelli, o esseri striscianti sopra la, terra, e che io vi ho dichiarato immondi.
26 "Be consecrated to me, for I, Yahweh, am holy, and I shall set you apart from all these peoples, foryou to be mine.	26 Voi mi sarete santi, perchè io, il Signore, sono santo, e vi ho separati da tutti gli altri popoli, perchè foste miei.
27 "Any man or woman of yours who is a necromancer or magician will be put to death; they wil bestoned to death; their blood wil be on their own heads." '	27 L'uomo o la donna che ha lo spirito pitonico o di divinazione, sian messi a morte, sian lapidati; e il loro sangue sia sopra di essi ».
