Leviticus 20

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 O Senhor disse a Moisés: "Dirás aos israelitas:
2 'Say to the Israelites: "Anyone, be he Israelite or alien resident in Israel, who gives any of his childrento Molech, wil be put to death. The people of the country must stone him,	2 todo israelita ou estrangeiro que habita em Israel e que sacrificar um de seus filhos a Moloc, será punido de morte. O povo da terra o apedrejará.
3 and I shall set my face against that man and outlaw him from his people; for by giving a child of his toMolech he has defiled my sanctuary and profaned my holy name.	3 Eu voltarei o meu rosto contra ele e o cortarei do meio de seu povo, porque manchou o meu santuário e profanou o meu santo nome, dando um de seus filhos a Moloc.
4 If the people of the country choose to close their eyes to the man's action when he gives a child of histo Molech, and do not put him to death,	4 Se o povo da terra não se importar por esse homem ter dado um de seus filhos a Moloc, e se não o matar,
5 I myself shal turn my face against that man and his clan. I shal outlaw them from their people, bothhim and all those after him who prostitute themselves by fol owing Molech.	5 eu voltarei meu rosto contra ele e contra a sua família, e o cortarei do meio de seu povo com todos aqueles que se prostituem como ele, prestando culto a Moloc.
6 "If anyone has recourse to the spirits of the dead or to magicians, to prostitute himself by followingthem, I shal set my face against him and outlaw him from his people.	6 Se alguém se dirigir aos espíritas ou aos adivinhos para fornicar com eles, voltarei meu rosto contra esse homem e o cortarei do meio de seu povo.
7 "Sanctify yourselves and be holy, for I am Yahweh your God.	7 Santificai-vos, e sede santos, porque eu sou o Senhor, vosso Deus.
8 "You wil keep my laws and put them into practice, for it is I, Yahweh, who make you holy.	8 Observai minhas leis e praticai-as. Eu sou o Senhor que vos santifico.
9 Hence: "Anyone who curses father or mother wil be put to death. Having cursed father or mother, theblood wil be on that person's own head.	9 Quem amaldiçoar o pai ou a mãe será punido de morte. Amaldiçoou o seu pai ou a sua mãe: levará a sua culpa.
10 "The man who commits adultery with his neighbour's wife wil be put to death, he and the woman.	10 Se um homem cometer adultério com uma mulher casada, com a mulher de seu próximo, o homem e a mulher adúltera serão punidos de morte.
11 "The man who has intercourse with his father's wife has infringed his father's sexual prerogative. Bothof them wil be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.	11 Se um homem dormir com a mulher de seu pai, descobrindo assim a nudez de seu pai, serão ambos punidos de morte; levarão a sua culpa.
12 "The man who has intercourse with his daughter-in-law: both of them wil be put to death; they haveviolated nature, their blood wil be on their own heads.	12 Se um homem dormir com a sua nora, serão ambos punidos de morte; isso é uma ignomínia, e eles levarão a sua culpa.
13 "The man who has intercourse with a man in the same way as with a woman: they have done ahateful thing together; they wil be put to death; their blood wil be on their own heads.	13 Se um homem dormir com outro homem, como se fosse mulher, ambos cometerão uma coisa abominável. Serão punidos de morte e levarão a sua culpa.
14 "The man who marries a woman and her mother: this is incest. They wil be burnt alive, he and they;you wil not tolerate incest.	14 Se um homem tomar por mulheres a filha e a mãe, cometerá um crime. Serão queimados no fogo, ele e elas, para que não haja tal crime no meio de vós.
15 "The man who has intercourse with an animal will be put to death; you wil kil the animal too.	15 Se um homem tiver comércio com um animal, será punido de morte, e matareis também o animal.
16 "The woman who approaches any animal to have intercourse with it: you will kil the woman and theanimal. They wil be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.	16 Se uma mulher se aproximar de um animal para se prostituir com ele, será morta juntamente com o animal. Serão mortos, e levarão a sua iniqüidade.
17 "The man who marries his father's or his mother's daughter: if they have intercourse together, this isan outrage. They wil be executed in public, for the man has had intercourse with his sister; he wil bear theconsequences of his guilt.	17 Se um homem tomar a sua irmã, filha de seu pai ou de sua mãe, e vir a sua nudez, e ela vir a sua, isso é uma coisa infame. Serão exterminados sob os olhos de seus compatriotas: descobriu a nudez de sua irmã; levará a sua iniqüidade.
18 "The man who has intercourse with a woman during her monthly periods and exposes hernakedness: he has laid bare the source of her blood, and she has exposed the source of her blood, and both ofthem wil be outlawed from their people.	18 Se um homem dormir com uma mulher durante o tempo de sua menstruação e vir a sua nudez, descobrindo o seu fluxo e descobrindo-o ela mesma, serão ambos cortados do meio de seu povo.
19 "You will not have intercourse with your mother's sister or your father's sister. Whoever does so, hashad intercourse with a close relation; they wil bear the consequences of their guilt.	19 Não descobrirás a nudez da irmã de tua mãe, nem da irmã de teu pai, porque descobrirás a sua carne; levarão sua iniqüidade.
20 "The man who has intercourse with the wife of his paternal uncle has infringed his uncle's sexualprerogative; they wil bear the consequences of their guilt and die childless.	20 Se um homem se deitar com sua tia, ele descobrirá a nudez de seu tio; levarão a sua iniqüidade, e morrerão sem filhos.
21 "The man who marries his brother's wife: this is pol ution; he has infringed his brother's sexualprerogative; they wil die childless.	21 Se um homem tomar a mulher de seu irmão, será uma impureza; ofenderá a honra de seu irmão: não terão filhos.
22 "You will keep al my laws, al my decisions, and put them into practice, so that the country where Iam taking you to live wil not vomit you out.	22 Observareis todas as minhas leis e meus mandamentos e os praticareis, a fim de que não vos vomite a terra aonde vos conduzo para aí habitar.
23 You wil not fol ow the laws of the nations whom I am driving out before you; they practised al thesethings, which is why I detested them.	23 Não seguireis os costumes da nação que eu expulsar de diante de vós, porque fizeram todas essas coisas e eu as abominei.
24 As I have already told you, you wil take possession of their soil, I myself shal give you possession ofit, a country flowing with milk and honey. "Since I, Yahweh your God, have set you apart from these peoples,	24 Eu vos disse: possuireis essa terra, a qual vos darei em possessão, terra que mana leite e mel. Eu sou o Senhor, vosso Deus, que vos separei dos outros povos.
25 you for your part wil make a distinction between clean animals and unclean ones and betweenunclean birds and clean ones, and wil not make yourselves detestable with any animal or bird or reptile, which Ihave set apart from you as unclean.	25 Fareis a distinção entre animais puros e impuros, entre as aves puras e impuras, e não vos torneis abomináveis por causa de animais, de aves ou de animais que se arrastam sobre a terra, como vos ensinei a distinguir como impuros.
26 "Be consecrated to me, for I, Yahweh, am holy, and I shall set you apart from all these peoples, foryou to be mine.	26 Sereis para mim santos, porque eu, o Senhor, sou santo; e vos separei dos outros povos para que sejais meus.
27 "Any man or woman of yours who is a necromancer or magician will be put to death; they wil bestoned to death; their blood wil be on their own heads." '	27 Qualquer homem ou mulher que evocar os espíritos ou fizer adivinhações, será morto. Serão apedrejados, e levarão sua culpa".
