1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 Yahvé dit à Moïse:
2 'Say to the Israelites: "Anyone, be he Israelite or alien resident in Israel, who gives any of his childrento Molech, wil be put to death. The people of the country must stone him,	2 “Voici ce que tu diras aux Israélites: si un Israélite, ou l’un des étrangers qui habitent en Israël, livre à Molok l’un de ses enfants, il sera puni de mort. Le peuple du pays le lapidera.
3 and I shall set my face against that man and outlaw him from his people; for by giving a child of his toMolech he has defiled my sanctuary and profaned my holy name.	3 Je m’en prendrai à cet homme et je le retrancherai du milieu de son peuple, car, en livrant à Molok l’un de ses enfants, il a souillé mon sanctuaire et profané mon saint Nom.
4 If the people of the country choose to close their eyes to the man's action when he gives a child of histo Molech, and do not put him to death,	4 Si le peuple du pays ferme les yeux lorsque cet homme donne ses enfants à Molok et mérite ainsi la mort,
5 I myself shal turn my face against that man and his clan. I shal outlaw them from their people, bothhim and all those after him who prostitute themselves by fol owing Molech.	5 je m’en prendrai, moi, à cet homme et à sa famille. Je le retrancherai du milieu de son peuple avec tous ceux qui comme lui se vendent à Molok.
6 "If anyone has recourse to the spirits of the dead or to magicians, to prostitute himself by followingthem, I shal set my face against him and outlaw him from his people.	6 Si quelqu’un s’adresse à ceux qui évoquent les esprits et aux sorciers pour se prostituer avec eux, je m’en prendrai à cet homme et je le retrancherai du milieu de son peuple.
7 "Sanctify yourselves and be holy, for I am Yahweh your God.	7 Vous vous sanctifierez, vous serez saints, car je suis Yahvé votre Dieu.
8 "You wil keep my laws and put them into practice, for it is I, Yahweh, who make you holy.	8 Vous observerez mes lois et vous les mettrez en pratique. Je suis Yahvé! C’est moi qui vous rends saints!
9 Hence: "Anyone who curses father or mother wil be put to death. Having cursed father or mother, theblood wil be on that person's own head.	9 Celui qui maudira son père ou sa mère sera puni de mort: il a maudit son père ou sa mère, il a voulu sa propre mort.
10 "The man who commits adultery with his neighbour's wife wil be put to death, he and the woman.	10 Si un homme commet l’adultère avec une femme mariée, s’il commet l’adultère avec la femme de son prochain: tous deux seront punis de mort, l’homme, et la femme adultère.
11 "The man who has intercourse with his father's wife has infringed his father's sexual prerogative. Bothof them wil be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.	11 Si un homme couche avec la femme de son père, ils seront tous deux punis de mort: ils ont voulu leur propre mort.
12 "The man who has intercourse with his daughter-in-law: both of them wil be put to death; they haveviolated nature, their blood wil be on their own heads.	12 Si un homme couche avec sa belle-fille: ils seront tous deux punis de mort, ils ont fait un acte honteux, ils ont voulu leur propre mort.
13 "The man who has intercourse with a man in the same way as with a woman: they have done ahateful thing together; they wil be put to death; their blood wil be on their own heads.	13 Si un homme couche avec un autre homme comme on couche avec une femme, c’est un acte abominable; ils seront punis de mort et ils seront responsables de leur mort.
14 "The man who marries a woman and her mother: this is incest. They wil be burnt alive, he and they;you wil not tolerate incest.	14 Si un homme prend pour femmes, et la fille et la mère, c’est un crime! On les livrera au feu, lui et elles, pour que l’on ne voie plus jamais cela chez vous.
15 "The man who has intercourse with an animal will be put to death; you wil kil the animal too.	15 L’homme qui aura eu des rapports avec une bête sera puni de mort, et vous tuerez aussi la bête.
16 "The woman who approaches any animal to have intercourse with it: you will kil the woman and theanimal. They wil be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.	16 Si une femme s’approche d’une bête pour avoir des rapports avec elle, tu feras périr la femme et la bête. Elles seront mises à mort et elles seront responsables de leur mort.
17 "The man who marries his father's or his mother's daughter: if they have intercourse together, this isan outrage. They wil be executed in public, for the man has had intercourse with his sister; he wil bear theconsequences of his guilt.	17 Si un homme prend sa sœur, qu’elle soit la fille de son père ou la fille de sa mère, et ils ont des rapports sexuels, c’est un crime! Il sera retranché sous les yeux des enfants de son peuple. Il a découvert la nudité de sa sœur, il portera le poids de son péché.
18 "The man who has intercourse with a woman during her monthly periods and exposes hernakedness: he has laid bare the source of her blood, and she has exposed the source of her blood, and both ofthem wil be outlawed from their people.	18 Si un homme couche avec une femme durant la période de ses règles et découvre sa nudité, il a profané son propre écoulement et le flux de sang de la femme. Ils seront tous deux retranchés du milieu de leur peuple.
19 "You will not have intercourse with your mother's sister or your father's sister. Whoever does so, hashad intercourse with a close relation; they wil bear the consequences of their guilt.	19 Tu ne découvriras pas la nudité de la sœur de ta mère, ou de la sœur de ton père, car ils sont ta propre chair. Les coupables porteront le poids de leur péché.
20 "The man who has intercourse with the wife of his paternal uncle has infringed his uncle's sexualprerogative; they wil bear the consequences of their guilt and die childless.	20 Si un homme couche avec sa tante, il profane la chair de son oncle. Ils porteront le poids de leur péché et mourront sans enfants.
21 "The man who marries his brother's wife: this is pol ution; he has infringed his brother's sexualprerogative; they wil die childless.	21 Si un homme prend la femme de son frère, c’est une faute. Comme il a profané la chair de son frère, ils seront sans enfants.
22 "You will keep al my laws, al my decisions, and put them into practice, so that the country where Iam taking you to live wil not vomit you out.	22 Vous observerez toutes mes lois et tous mes commandements, et vous les mettrez en pratique. Ainsi le pays dans lequel je vous ai conduits pour y habiter ne vous rejettera pas.
23 You wil not fol ow the laws of the nations whom I am driving out before you; they practised al thesethings, which is why I detested them.	23 Vous ne suivrez pas les pratiques des nations que je vais chasser devant vous, car c’est à cause de ces pratiques que je les ai en horreur.
24 As I have already told you, you wil take possession of their soil, I myself shal give you possession ofit, a country flowing with milk and honey. "Since I, Yahweh your God, have set you apart from these peoples,	24 Je vous l’ai dit: Vous posséderez leur pays, je vous donnerai cette terre où coulent le lait et le miel pour qu’elle soit vôtre: je suis Yahvé votre Dieu qui vous ai mis à part des autres peuples!
25 you for your part wil make a distinction between clean animals and unclean ones and betweenunclean birds and clean ones, and wil not make yourselves detestable with any animal or bird or reptile, which Ihave set apart from you as unclean.	25 Vous ferez la différence entre les animaux purs et impurs; entre les oiseaux purs et impurs. Je vous ai appris à reconnaître les animaux, les oiseaux et tous les êtres vivants impurs; ainsi vous ne vous rendrez pas impurs à cause d’eux.
26 "Be consecrated to me, for I, Yahweh, am holy, and I shall set you apart from all these peoples, foryou to be mine.	26 Vous serez saints pour moi, car je suis saint, moi Yahvé qui vous ai mis à part des autres peuples pour que vous soyez à moi.
27 "Any man or woman of yours who is a necromancer or magician will be put to death; they wil bestoned to death; their blood wil be on their own heads." '	27 Tout homme et toute femme qui évoquent les esprits ou se livrent à la sorcellerie seront mis à mort. On les lapidera, ils seront responsables de leur mort.”
