1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 E il Signore parlò a Mosè, e disse:
2 'Say to the Israelites: "Anyone, be he Israelite or alien resident in Israel, who gives any of his childrento Molech, wil be put to death. The people of the country must stone him,	2 Tu dirai a' figliuoli d'Israele: Chiunque de' figliuoli d'Israele, e de' forestieri, che abitano con Israele, darà dei suoi figliuoli all’idolo Moloch, sarà punito di morte: la plebe lo lapiderà.
3 and I shall set my face against that man and outlaw him from his people; for by giving a child of his toMolech he has defiled my sanctuary and profaned my holy name.	3 E io sarogli nemico, e lo schianterò dalla società del suo popolo per aver dato a Moloch i suoi figliuoli, e per aver profanato il mio santuario, e disonorato il nome mio santo.
4 If the people of the country choose to close their eyes to the man's action when he gives a child of histo Molech, and do not put him to death,	4 Che se il popolo trascurerà, e metterà quasi in non cale i miei comandi, e lascerà impunito colui che ha dato dei suoi figliuoli a Moloch, e non vorrà ucciderlo,
5 I myself shal turn my face against that man and his clan. I shal outlaw them from their people, bothhim and all those after him who prostitute themselves by fol owing Molech.	5 Sarò io il nemico di colui, e della sua stirpe; e schianterò dalla società del suo popolo e lui, e tutti quelli che hanno acconsentito, ch'ei si prostituisse a Moloch.
6 "If anyone has recourse to the spirits of the dead or to magicians, to prostitute himself by followingthem, I shal set my face against him and outlaw him from his people.	6 Chiunque anderà dietro ai maghi, e agl’indovini, e si affezionerà ad essi, io sarogli nemico, e lo sterminerò dalla società del suo popolo.
7 "Sanctify yourselves and be holy, for I am Yahweh your God.	7 Santificatevi, e siate santi; perocché io sono il Signore Dio vostro.
8 "You wil keep my laws and put them into practice, for it is I, Yahweh, who make you holy.	8 Osservate i miei precetti, e mettetegli in pratica. Io il Signore, che vi santifico.
9 Hence: "Anyone who curses father or mother wil be put to death. Having cursed father or mother, theblood wil be on that person's own head.	9 Chi maledirà il padre suo, o la madre sua, sia punito di morte: ha maledetto il padre, o la madre, sia sopra di lui il suo sangue.
10 "The man who commits adultery with his neighbour's wife wil be put to death, he and the woman.	10 Se uno pecca colla donna altrui, e commette adulterio colla moglie del suo prossimo, sien puniti di morte l’adultero, e l'adultera.
11 "The man who has intercourse with his father's wife has infringed his father's sexual prerogative. Bothof them wil be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.	11 Se uno pecca colla sua matrigna, disonorando il proprio padre, saran puniti di morte ambedue: sia sopra di essi il sangue loro.
12 "The man who has intercourse with his daughter-in-law: both of them wil be put to death; they haveviolated nature, their blood wil be on their own heads.	12 Se uno pecca con sua nuora, saran puniti di morte ambedue; perocché hanno fatto una cosa scellerata: sia sopra di essi il loro sangue.
13 "The man who has intercourse with a man in the same way as with a woman: they have done ahateful thing together; they wil be put to death; their blood wil be on their own heads.	13 Se uno pecca con un maschio, come se questo fosse una donna, ambedue han fatto una cosa esecranda; sien puniti di morte: sia sopra di essi il loro sangue.
14 "The man who marries a woman and her mother: this is incest. They wil be burnt alive, he and they;you wil not tolerate incest.	14 Se uno dopo la figliuola sposa anche la madre di lei, fa cosa scellerata: sarà bruciato vivo con esse, e non si tollererà tra voi tanta indegnità.
15 "The man who has intercourse with an animal will be put to death; you wil kil the animal too.	15 Chi pecca con una qualunque bestia, sia punito di morte: uccidete anche la bestia.
16 "The woman who approaches any animal to have intercourse with it: you will kil the woman and theanimal. They wil be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.	16 La donna, che peccherà con un animale qualunque, sarà messa a morte con esso: sia sopra di essi il loro sangue.
17 "The man who marries his father's or his mother's daughter: if they have intercourse together, this isan outrage. They wil be executed in public, for the man has had intercourse with his sister; he wil bear theconsequences of his guilt.	17 Se uno peccherà colla sua sorella figliuola di suo padre, ovver di sua madre, ed ei la disonora, ed ella disonora il fratello, hanno fatto una cosa esecranda: saranno uccisi ambedue al cospetto del popol loro; perché si sono scambievolmente disonorati, e porteranno la loro iniquità.
18 "The man who has intercourse with a woman during her monthly periods and exposes hernakedness: he has laid bare the source of her blood, and she has exposed the source of her blood, and both ofthem wil be outlawed from their people.	18 Chi ha che fare con la donna nel tempo de' suoi mesi, e la disonora, ed ella scuopre la sua immondezza, saranno ambedue sterminati dalla società del loro popolo.
19 "You will not have intercourse with your mother's sister or your father's sister. Whoever does so, hashad intercourse with a close relation; they wil bear the consequences of their guilt.	19 Non avrai che fare colla zia da canto di madre, o da canto di padre: chi fa tal cosa, fa ignominia alla propria carne: porteranno l’uno e l’altra la loro iniquità.
20 "The man who has intercourse with the wife of his paternal uncle has infringed his uncle's sexualprerogative; they wil bear the consequences of their guilt and die childless.	20 Se uno pecca colla moglie di suo zio paterno, o materno, e disonora la propria parentela, ambedue porteranno il loro peccato: morranno senza figliuoli.
21 "The man who marries his brother's wife: this is pol ution; he has infringed his brother's sexualprerogative; they wil die childless.	21 Chi sposa la moglie di suo fratello, fa cosa illecita, disonorando il proprio fratello: non avranno figliuoli.
22 "You will keep al my laws, al my decisions, and put them into practice, so that the country where Iam taking you to live wil not vomit you out.	22 Osservate le mie leggi, e i miei comandamenti, e mettetegli in pratica, affinché la terra, in cui siete per entrare, e per abitare, non vomiti anche voi.
23 You wil not fol ow the laws of the nations whom I am driving out before you; they practised al thesethings, which is why I detested them.	23 Non vi governate secondo le leggi di quelle nazioni, le quali io sterminerò dal cospetto vostro: perocché elle han fatto tutte queste cose, e le ho avute in abbominio.
24 As I have already told you, you wil take possession of their soil, I myself shal give you possession ofit, a country flowing with milk and honey. "Since I, Yahweh your God, have set you apart from these peoples,	24 Ma a voi io dico: Entrate in possesso della loro terra, la quale io darò a voi in retaggio; terra, che scorre latte, e miele. Io il Signore Dio vostro, che vi ho separati da tutti gli altri popoli.
25 you for your part wil make a distinction between clean animals and unclean ones and betweenunclean birds and clean ones, and wil not make yourselves detestable with any animal or bird or reptile, which Ihave set apart from you as unclean.	25 Separate dunque anche voi la bestia monda dall'immonda, i volatili puri dagli impuri: non contaminate le anime vostre, facendo uso degli animali, e degli uccelli, e di tutto quel che muovesi sopra la terra, che io vi ho mostrato esser immondi.
26 "Be consecrated to me, for I, Yahweh, am holy, and I shall set you apart from all these peoples, foryou to be mine.	26 Voi sarete il mio popolo santo; perché santo son io il Signore, e vi ho separati da tutti gli altri popoli, perché foste miei.
27 "Any man or woman of yours who is a necromancer or magician will be put to death; they wil bestoned to death; their blood wil be on their own heads." '	27 L'uomo, o la donna, che ha lo spirito di pitone, o d'indozzamento, saran messi a morte: li lapideranno: sia sopra di essi il lor sangue.
