Leviticus 20

NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 IL Signore parlò, oltre a ciò, a Mosè dicendo: Di’ ancora a’ figliuoli d’Israele:
2 'Say to the Israelites: "Anyone, be he Israelite or alien resident in Israel, who gives any of his childrento Molech, wil be put to death. The people of the country must stone him,	2 Chiunque de’ figliuoli d’Israele, o de’ forestieri che dimorano in Israele, avrà dato della sua progenie a Molec, del tutto sia fatto morire; lapidilo il popolo del paese.
3 and I shall set my face against that man and outlaw him from his people; for by giving a child of his toMolech he has defiled my sanctuary and profaned my holy name.	3 E io ancora metterò la mia faccia contro a quell’uomo, e lo sterminerò d’infra il suo popolo; perciocchè egli avrà dato della sua progenie a Molec, per contaminare il mio Santuario, e per profanare il mio Nome santo.
4 If the people of the country choose to close their eyes to the man's action when he gives a child of histo Molech, and do not put him to death,	4 Che se pure il popolo del paese del tutto chiude gli occhi, per non vedere quell’uomo, quando avrà dato della sua progenie a Molec, per non farlo morire;
5 I myself shal turn my face against that man and his clan. I shal outlaw them from their people, bothhim and all those after him who prostitute themselves by fol owing Molech.	5 io metterò la mia faccia contro a quell’uomo, e contro alla sua famiglia; e sterminerò d’infra il lor popolo lui, e tutti coloro che lo seguiranno, in fornicare dietro a Molec.
6 "If anyone has recourse to the spirits of the dead or to magicians, to prostitute himself by followingthem, I shal set my face against him and outlaw him from his people.	6 E se alcuna persona si rivolge agli spiriti di Pitone, o agl’indovini, per fornicar dietro a loro, io metterò la mia faccia contro a quella persona, e la sterminerò d’infra il suo popolo.
7 "Sanctify yourselves and be holy, for I am Yahweh your God.	7 Voi dunque santificatevi, e siate santi; perciocchè io sono il Signore Iddio vostro.
8 "You wil keep my laws and put them into practice, for it is I, Yahweh, who make you holy.	8 E osservate i miei statuti, e metteteli in opera. Io sono il Signore che vi santifico.
9 Hence: "Anyone who curses father or mother wil be put to death. Having cursed father or mother, theblood wil be on that person's own head.	9 Se alcuno maledice suo padre, o sua madre, del tutto sia fatto morire; egli ha maledetto suo padre, o sua madre; sia il suo sangue sopra lui
10 "The man who commits adultery with his neighbour's wife wil be put to death, he and the woman.	10 E se alcuno commette adulterio con la moglie di un altro, con la moglie del suo prossimo; facciansi morire l’adultero e l’adultera.
11 "The man who has intercourse with his father's wife has infringed his father's sexual prerogative. Bothof them wil be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.	11 E se alcuno giace con la moglie di suo padre, egli ha scoperte le vergogne di suo padre; del tutto facciansi morire amendue; sia il lor sangue sopra loro.
12 "The man who has intercourse with his daughter-in-law: both of them wil be put to death; they haveviolated nature, their blood wil be on their own heads.	12 E se alcuno giace con la sua nuora, del tutto facciansi morire amendue; essi hanno fatta confusione; sia il lor sangue sopra loro.
13 "The man who has intercourse with a man in the same way as with a woman: they have done ahateful thing together; they wil be put to death; their blood wil be on their own heads.	13 E se alcuno giace carnalmente con maschio, amendue hanno fatta una cosa abbominevole; del tutto facciansi morire; sia il lor sangue sopra loro.
14 "The man who marries a woman and her mother: this is incest. They wil be burnt alive, he and they;you wil not tolerate incest.	14 E se alcuno prende una donna, e la madre di essa insieme, ciò è scelleratezza; brucinsi col fuoco, e lui e loro; acciocchè non vi sia alcuna scelleratezza nel mezzo di voi.
15 "The man who has intercourse with an animal will be put to death; you wil kil the animal too.	15 E se alcuno si congiunge carnalmente con una bestia, del tutto sia fatto morire; uccidete ancora la bestia.
16 "The woman who approaches any animal to have intercourse with it: you will kil the woman and theanimal. They wil be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.	16 Parimente, se alcuna donna si accosta ad alcuna bestia, per farsi coprire, uccidi la donna, e la bestia; del tutto facciansi morire; sia il lor sangue sopra loro.
17 "The man who marries his father's or his mother's daughter: if they have intercourse together, this isan outrage. They wil be executed in public, for the man has had intercourse with his sister; he wil bear theconsequences of his guilt.	17 E se alcuno prende la sua sorella, figliuola di suo padre, o figliuola di sua madre, e vede le sue vergogne, ed essa vede le vergogne di lui, ciò è cosa vituperosa; sieno adunque amendue sterminati alla vista de’ figliuoli del lor popolo; colui ha scoperte le vergogne della sua sorella; porti la sua iniquità.
18 "The man who has intercourse with a woman during her monthly periods and exposes hernakedness: he has laid bare the source of her blood, and she has exposed the source of her blood, and both ofthem wil be outlawed from their people.	18 E se alcuno giace con donna che è nella sua immondizia, e scopre le sue vergogne, egli ha scoperto il flusso di quella donna, ed essa ha scoperto il flusso del suo sangue; perciò sieno amendue sterminati del mezzo del lor popolo.
19 "You will not have intercourse with your mother's sister or your father's sister. Whoever does so, hashad intercourse with a close relation; they wil bear the consequences of their guilt.	19 E non iscoprir le vergogne della sorella di tua madre, o della sorella di tuo padre; perciocchè se alcuno scopre la carne loro, amendue porteranno la loro iniquità.
20 "The man who has intercourse with the wife of his paternal uncle has infringed his uncle's sexualprerogative; they wil bear the consequences of their guilt and die childless.	20 E se alcuno giace con la sua zia, egli ha scoperte le vergogne del suo zio; amendue porteranno il lor peccato; sieno fatti morire, e non abbiano figliuoli.
21 "The man who marries his brother's wife: this is pol ution; he has infringed his brother's sexualprerogative; they wil die childless.	21 Parimente, se alcuno prende la moglie del suo fratello, ciò è cosa brutta; colui ha scoperte le vergogne del suo fratello; sieno senza figliuoli
22 "You will keep al my laws, al my decisions, and put them into practice, so that the country where Iam taking you to live wil not vomit you out.	22 Osservate tutti i miei statuti, e tutte le mie leggi, e metteteli in opera; acciocchè il paese, dove io vi conduco per abitarvi, non vi vomiti fuori.
23 You wil not fol ow the laws of the nations whom I am driving out before you; they practised al thesethings, which is why I detested them.	23 E non procedete secondo i costumi della nazione che io scaccio dal vostro cospetto; perciocchè essi hanno fatte tutte queste cose; onde io li ho avuti in abbominio.
24 As I have already told you, you wil take possession of their soil, I myself shal give you possession ofit, a country flowing with milk and honey. "Since I, Yahweh your God, have set you apart from these peoples,	24 E io vi ho detto: Voi possederete la terra loro, e io ve la darò per possederla; terra stillante latte e miele. Io sono il Signore Iddio vostro, che vi ho separati dagli altri popoli.
25 you for your part wil make a distinction between clean animals and unclean ones and betweenunclean birds and clean ones, and wil not make yourselves detestable with any animal or bird or reptile, which Ihave set apart from you as unclean.	25 E però mettete differenza fra la bestia monda e l’immonda, e fra l’uccello mondo e l’immondo; e non rendete le vostre persone abbominevoli per quelle bestie, o per quegli uccelli, o per alcun rettile che serpe sopra la terra, i quali io vi ho separati per averli per immondi.
26 "Be consecrated to me, for I, Yahweh, am holy, and I shall set you apart from all these peoples, foryou to be mine.	26 E siatemi santi; perciocchè io, il Signore, son santo; e vi ho separati dagli altri popoli, acciocchè siate miei.
27 "Any man or woman of yours who is a necromancer or magician will be put to death; they wil bestoned to death; their blood wil be on their own heads." '	27 Se alcuno, uomo o donna, ha lo spirito di Pitone, o è indovino, del tutto sia fatto morire; sia lapidato; sia il sangue di tali persone sopra loro
