Leviticus 20

1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 וידבר יהוה אל משה לאמר
2 'Say to the Israelites: "Anyone, be he Israelite or alien resident in Israel, who gives any of his childrento Molech, wil be put to death. The people of the country must stone him,	2 ואל בני ישראל תאמר איש איש מבני ישראל ומן הגר הגר בישראל אשר יתן מזרעו למלך מות יומת עם הארץ ירגמהו באבן
3 and I shall set my face against that man and outlaw him from his people; for by giving a child of his toMolech he has defiled my sanctuary and profaned my holy name.	3 ואני אתן את פני באיש ההוא והכרתי אתו מקרב עמו כי מזרעו נתן למלך למען טמא את מקדשי ולחלל את שם קדשי
4 If the people of the country choose to close their eyes to the man's action when he gives a child of histo Molech, and do not put him to death,	4 ואם העלם יעלימו עם הארץ את עיניהם מן האיש ההוא בתתו מזרעו למלך לבלתי המית אתו
5 I myself shal turn my face against that man and his clan. I shal outlaw them from their people, bothhim and all those after him who prostitute themselves by fol owing Molech.	5 ושמתי אני את פני באיש ההוא ובמשפחתו והכרתי אתו ואת כל הזנים אחריו לזנות אחרי המלך מקרב עמם
6 "If anyone has recourse to the spirits of the dead or to magicians, to prostitute himself by followingthem, I shal set my face against him and outlaw him from his people.	6 והנפש אשר תפנה אל האבת ואל הידענים לזנות אחריהם ונתתי את פני בנפש ההוא והכרתי אתו מקרב עמו
7 "Sanctify yourselves and be holy, for I am Yahweh your God.	7 והתקדשתם והייתם קדשים כי אני יהוה אלהיכם
8 "You wil keep my laws and put them into practice, for it is I, Yahweh, who make you holy.	8 ושמרתם את חקתי ועשיתם אתם אני יהוה מקדשכם
9 Hence: "Anyone who curses father or mother wil be put to death. Having cursed father or mother, theblood wil be on that person's own head.	9 כי איש איש אשר יקלל את אביו ואת אמו מות יומת אביו ואמו קלל דמיו בו
10 "The man who commits adultery with his neighbour's wife wil be put to death, he and the woman.	10 ואיש אשר ינאף את אשת איש אשר ינאף את אשת רעהו מות יומת הנאף והנאפת
11 "The man who has intercourse with his father's wife has infringed his father's sexual prerogative. Bothof them wil be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.	11 ואיש אשר ישכב את אשת אביו ערות אביו גלה מות יומתו שניהם דמיהם בם
12 "The man who has intercourse with his daughter-in-law: both of them wil be put to death; they haveviolated nature, their blood wil be on their own heads.	12 ואיש אשר ישכב את כלתו מות יומתו שניהם תבל עשו דמיהם בם
13 "The man who has intercourse with a man in the same way as with a woman: they have done ahateful thing together; they wil be put to death; their blood wil be on their own heads.	13 ואיש אשר ישכב את זכר משכבי אשה תועבה עשו שניהם מות יומתו דמיהם בם
14 "The man who marries a woman and her mother: this is incest. They wil be burnt alive, he and they;you wil not tolerate incest.	14 ואיש אשר יקח את אשה ואת אמה זמה הוא באש ישרפו אתו ואתהן ולא תהיה זמה בתוככם
15 "The man who has intercourse with an animal will be put to death; you wil kil the animal too.	15 ואיש אשר יתן שכבתו בבהמה מות יומת ואת הבהמה תהרגו
16 "The woman who approaches any animal to have intercourse with it: you will kil the woman and theanimal. They wil be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.	16 ואשה אשר תקרב אל כל בהמה לרבעה אתה והרגת את האשה ואת הבהמה מות יומתו דמיהם בם
17 "The man who marries his father's or his mother's daughter: if they have intercourse together, this isan outrage. They wil be executed in public, for the man has had intercourse with his sister; he wil bear theconsequences of his guilt.	17 ואיש אשר יקח את אחתו בת אביו או בת אמו וראה את ערותה והיא תראה את ערותו חסד הוא ונכרתו לעיני בני עמם ערות אחתו גלה עונו ישא
18 "The man who has intercourse with a woman during her monthly periods and exposes hernakedness: he has laid bare the source of her blood, and she has exposed the source of her blood, and both ofthem wil be outlawed from their people.	18 ואיש אשר ישכב את אשה דוה וגלה את ערותה את מקרה הערה והיא גלתה את מקור דמיה ונכרתו שניהם מקרב עמם
19 "You will not have intercourse with your mother's sister or your father's sister. Whoever does so, hashad intercourse with a close relation; they wil bear the consequences of their guilt.	19 וערות אחות אמך ואחות אביך לא תגלה כי את שארו הערה עונם ישאו
20 "The man who has intercourse with the wife of his paternal uncle has infringed his uncle's sexualprerogative; they wil bear the consequences of their guilt and die childless.	20 ואיש אשר ישכב את דדתו ערות דדו גלה חטאם ישאו ערירים ימתו
21 "The man who marries his brother's wife: this is pol ution; he has infringed his brother's sexualprerogative; they wil die childless.	21 ואיש אשר יקח את אשת אחיו נדה הוא ערות אחיו גלה ערירים יהיו
22 "You will keep al my laws, al my decisions, and put them into practice, so that the country where Iam taking you to live wil not vomit you out.	22 ושמרתם את כל חקתי ואת כל משפטי ועשיתם אתם ולא תקיא אתכם הארץ אשר אני מביא אתכם שמה לשבת בה
23 You wil not fol ow the laws of the nations whom I am driving out before you; they practised al thesethings, which is why I detested them.	23 ולא תלכו בחקת הגוי אשר אני משלח מפניכם כי את כל אלה עשו ואקץ בם
24 As I have already told you, you wil take possession of their soil, I myself shal give you possession ofit, a country flowing with milk and honey. "Since I, Yahweh your God, have set you apart from these peoples,	24 ואמר לכם אתם תירשו את אדמתם ואני אתננה לכם לרשת אתה ארץ זבת חלב ודבש אני יהוה אלהיכם אשר הבדלתי אתכם מן העמים
25 you for your part wil make a distinction between clean animals and unclean ones and betweenunclean birds and clean ones, and wil not make yourselves detestable with any animal or bird or reptile, which Ihave set apart from you as unclean.	25 והבדלתם בין הבהמה הטהרה לטמאה ובין העוף הטמא לטהר ולא תשקצו את נפשתיכם בבהמה ובעוף ובכל אשר תרמש האדמה אשר הבדלתי לכם לטמא
26 "Be consecrated to me, for I, Yahweh, am holy, and I shall set you apart from all these peoples, foryou to be mine.	26 והייתם לי קדשים כי קדוש אני יהוה ואבדל אתכם מן העמים להיות לי
27 "Any man or woman of yours who is a necromancer or magician will be put to death; they wil bestoned to death; their blood wil be on their own heads." '	27 ואיש או אשה כי יהיה בהם אוב או ידעני מות יומתו באבן ירגמו אתם דמיהם בם
