Leviticus 20

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 Y el Señor dijo a Moisés:
2 'Say to the Israelites: "Anyone, be he Israelite or alien resident in Israel, who gives any of his childrento Molech, wil be put to death. The people of the country must stone him,	2 Tú les dirás a los israelitas: Cualquier hombre entre ustedes, o entre los extranjeros residentes en Israel, que entregue a alguno de sus descendientes a Moloc, será castigado con la muerte: el pueblo del país lo hará morir a pedradas.
3 and I shall set my face against that man and outlaw him from his people; for by giving a child of his toMolech he has defiled my sanctuary and profaned my holy name.	3 Yo volveré mi rostro contra ese hombre y lo extirparé de su pueblo, porque él dio un descendiente suyo a Moloc, y así manchó mi Santuario y profanó mi santo Nombre.
4 If the people of the country choose to close their eyes to the man's action when he gives a child of histo Molech, and do not put him to death,	4 Y si el pueblo del país cierra sus ojos ante ese hombre, cuando él entrega un descendiente suyo a Moloc, y no lo mata,
5 I myself shal turn my face against that man and his clan. I shal outlaw them from their people, bothhim and all those after him who prostitute themselves by fol owing Molech.	5 yo mismo volveré mi rostro contra ese hombre y su familia, y lo extirparé de su pueblo, junto con todos aquellos que lo sigan, prostituyéndose detrás de Moloc.
6 "If anyone has recourse to the spirits of the dead or to magicians, to prostitute himself by followingthem, I shal set my face against him and outlaw him from his people.	6 Y si una persona consulta a los espíritus de los muertos o a otros espíritus, y se prostituye detrás de ellos, yo volveré mi rostro contra esa persona y la extirparé de su pueblo.
7 "Sanctify yourselves and be holy, for I am Yahweh your God.	7 Ustedes se santificarán y serán santos, porque yo soy el Señor, su Dios.
8 "You wil keep my laws and put them into practice, for it is I, Yahweh, who make you holy.	8 Observarán fielmente mis preceptos, Yo soy el Señor, que los santifico.
9 Hence: "Anyone who curses father or mother wil be put to death. Having cursed father or mother, theblood wil be on that person's own head.	9 Si alguien insulta a su padre o a su madre, será castigado con la muerte, él ha insultado a su padre y a su madre, y por eso su propia sangre caerá sobre él.
10 "The man who commits adultery with his neighbour's wife wil be put to death, he and the woman.	10 Si un hombre comete adulterio con la mujer de su prójimo, los dos serán castigados con la muerte.
11 "The man who has intercourse with his father's wife has infringed his father's sexual prerogative. Bothof them wil be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.	11 Si un hombre se acuesta con la mujer de su padre, es como si tuviera relaciones con su propio padre; por eso los dos serán castigados con la muerte, y su sangre caerá sobre ellos.
12 "The man who has intercourse with his daughter-in-law: both of them wil be put to death; they haveviolated nature, their blood wil be on their own heads.	12 Si un hombre se acuesta con su nuera, los dos serán castigados con la muerte; ellos han cometido un incesto, y por eso su sangre caerá sobre ellos.
13 "The man who has intercourse with a man in the same way as with a woman: they have done ahateful thing together; they wil be put to death; their blood wil be on their own heads.	13 Si un hombre se acuesta con otro hombre como si fuera una mujer, los dos cometen una cosa abominable; por eso serán castigados con la muerte y su sangre caerá sobre ellos.
14 "The man who marries a woman and her mother: this is incest. They wil be burnt alive, he and they;you wil not tolerate incest.	14 Si un hombre se casa con una mujer y con la madre de esta, lo que hace es una depravación: tanto él como ellas serán quemados, para que no haya tal depravación entre ustedes.
15 "The man who has intercourse with an animal will be put to death; you wil kil the animal too.	15 Si un hombre tiene trato sexual con una bestia, será castigado con la muerte, y también matarán a la bestia.
16 "The woman who approaches any animal to have intercourse with it: you will kil the woman and theanimal. They wil be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.	16 Si una mujer se acerca a una bestia para unirse con ella, matarán a la mujer y a la bestia: ambas serán castigadas con la muerte y su sangre caerá sobre ellas.
17 "The man who marries his father's or his mother's daughter: if they have intercourse together, this isan outrage. They wil be executed in public, for the man has had intercourse with his sister; he wil bear theconsequences of his guilt.	17 Si alguien se casa con su hermana –sea hija de su padre o de su madre– de manera que él ve la desnudez de ella, y ella la de él, cometen una ignominia: ambos serán extirpados a la vista de sus compatriotas. Por haber tenido relaciones con su hermana, él deberá cargar con su culpa.
18 "The man who has intercourse with a woman during her monthly periods and exposes hernakedness: he has laid bare the source of her blood, and she has exposed the source of her blood, and both ofthem wil be outlawed from their people.	18 Si un hombre se acuesta con una mujer en su período menstrual y tiene relaciones con ella, los dos serán extirpados de su pueblo, por él ha puesto al desnudo la fuente del flujo de la mujer y ella la ha descubierto.
19 "You will not have intercourse with your mother's sister or your father's sister. Whoever does so, hashad intercourse with a close relation; they wil bear the consequences of their guilt.	19 No tendrás relaciones con la hermana de tu madre ni con la hermana de tu padre, porque eso sería como tener relaciones con uno mismo: los que lo hagan cargarán con su culpa.
20 "The man who has intercourse with the wife of his paternal uncle has infringed his uncle's sexualprerogative; they wil bear the consequences of their guilt and die childless.	20 Si un hombre se acuesta con la mujer de su tío paterno, es como si tuviera relaciones con este último: los que lo hagan cargarán con su culpa y morirán sin tener hijos.
21 "The man who marries his brother's wife: this is pol ution; he has infringed his brother's sexualprerogative; they wil die childless.	21 Si un hombre se casa con la mujer de su hermano, lo que hace es una indecencia, porque es como si tuviera relaciones con su hermano: los que lo hagan no tendrán hijos.
22 "You will keep al my laws, al my decisions, and put them into practice, so that the country where Iam taking you to live wil not vomit you out.	22 Observen todos mis preceptos y mis leyes, y pónganlos en práctica: entonces no los vomitaré de la tierra adonde yo los haré entrar para que vivan en ella.
23 You wil not fol ow the laws of the nations whom I am driving out before you; they practised al thesethings, which is why I detested them.	23 No sigan los preceptos de la nación que yo expulsaré delante de ustedes. Precisamente porque ellos hicieron todas estas cosas, yo les tomé repulsión
24 As I have already told you, you wil take possession of their soil, I myself shal give you possession ofit, a country flowing with milk and honey. "Since I, Yahweh your God, have set you apart from these peoples,	24 y les aseguré a ustedes que poseerían su suelo, esa tierra que mana leche y miel, la tierra que yo les daré en posesión.
25 you for your part wil make a distinction between clean animals and unclean ones and betweenunclean birds and clean ones, and wil not make yourselves detestable with any animal or bird or reptile, which Ihave set apart from you as unclean.	25 Por eso ustedes deberán separar los animales puros de los impuros, y los pájaros impuros de los puros. No se hagan abominables a causa de un animal, de un pájaro o de cualquier alimaña que se arrastra por el suelo, porque yo los separé para que a ustedes los consideren impuros.
26 "Be consecrated to me, for I, Yahweh, am holy, and I shall set you apart from all these peoples, foryou to be mine.	26 Ustedes serán santos, porque yo, el Señor, soy santo, y los separé de los otros pueblos, para que me pertenezcan.
27 "Any man or woman of yours who is a necromancer or magician will be put to death; they wil bestoned to death; their blood wil be on their own heads." '	27 El hombre o la mujer que consulten a los muertos o a otros espíritus, serán castigados con la muerte: los matarán a pedradas, y su sangre caerá sobre ellos.
