Leviticus 20

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 Habló Yahveh a Moisés y dijo:
2 'Say to the Israelites: "Anyone, be he Israelite or alien resident in Israel, who gives any of his childrento Molech, wil be put to death. The people of the country must stone him,	2 Dirás a los israelitas: Si un hombre cualquiera de entre los israelitas o de los forasteros que residen en Israel entrega uno de sus hijos a Mólek, morirá sin remedio; el pueblo de la tierra lo lapidara.
3 and I shall set my face against that man and outlaw him from his people; for by giving a child of his toMolech he has defiled my sanctuary and profaned my holy name.	3 Yo mismo volveré mi rostro contra ese hombre y los exterminaré de en medio de su pueblo, por haber entregado un hijo suyo a Mólek, haciendo impuro mi santuario y profanando mi nombre santo.
4 If the people of the country choose to close their eyes to the man's action when he gives a child of histo Molech, and do not put him to death,	4 Si el pueblo de la tierra cierra los ojos ante ese hombre que entregó uno de sus hijos a Mólek, y no le da muerte,
5 I myself shal turn my face against that man and his clan. I shal outlaw them from their people, bothhim and all those after him who prostitute themselves by fol owing Molech.	5 yo mismo volveré mi rostro contra ese hombre y contra su familia, y lo exterminaré de entre su pueblo, a él y a todos los que como él se prostituyan tras Mólek.
6 "If anyone has recourse to the spirits of the dead or to magicians, to prostitute himself by followingthem, I shal set my face against him and outlaw him from his people.	6 Si alguien consulta a los nigromantes, y a los adivinos, prostituyéndose en pos de ellos, yo volveré mi rostro contra él y lo exterminaré de en medio de su pueblo.
7 "Sanctify yourselves and be holy, for I am Yahweh your God.	7 Santificaos y sed santos; porque yo soy Yahveh, vuestro Dios.
8 "You wil keep my laws and put them into practice, for it is I, Yahweh, who make you holy.	8 Guardad mis preceptos y cumplidlos. Yo soy Yahveh, el que os santifico.
9 Hence: "Anyone who curses father or mother wil be put to death. Having cursed father or mother, theblood wil be on that person's own head.	9 Quien maldiga a su padre o a su madre, será muerto sin remedio, pues ha maldecido a su padre o a su madre; su sangre caerá sobre él.
10 "The man who commits adultery with his neighbour's wife wil be put to death, he and the woman.	10 Si un hombre comete adulterio con la mujer de su prójimo, será muerto tanto el adúltero como la adúltera.
11 "The man who has intercourse with his father's wife has infringed his father's sexual prerogative. Bothof them wil be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.	11 El que se acueste con la mujer de su padre, ha descubierto la desnudez de su padre; ambos morirán: caerá sobre ellos su sangre.
12 "The man who has intercourse with his daughter-in-law: both of them wil be put to death; they haveviolated nature, their blood wil be on their own heads.	12 Si un hombre se acuesta con su nuera, ambos morirán; han hecho una infamia: su sangre caerá sobre ellos.
13 "The man who has intercourse with a man in the same way as with a woman: they have done ahateful thing together; they wil be put to death; their blood wil be on their own heads.	13 Si alguien se acuesta con varón, como se hace con mujer, ambos han cometido abominación: morirán sin remedio; su sangre caerá sobre ellos.
14 "The man who marries a woman and her mother: this is incest. They wil be burnt alive, he and they;you wil not tolerate incest.	14 Si uno toma por esposas a una mujer y a su madre, es un incesto. Serán quemados tanto él como ellas para que no haya tal incesto en medio de vosotros.
15 "The man who has intercourse with an animal will be put to death; you wil kil the animal too.	15 El que se una con bestia, morirá sin remedio. Mataréis también la bestia.
16 "The woman who approaches any animal to have intercourse with it: you will kil the woman and theanimal. They wil be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.	16 Si una mujer se acerca a una bestia para unirse a ella, matarás a la mujer y a las bestia. Morirán; caerá sobre ellos su sangre.
17 "The man who marries his father's or his mother's daughter: if they have intercourse together, this isan outrage. They wil be executed in public, for the man has had intercourse with his sister; he wil bear theconsequences of his guilt.	17 Si alguien toma por esposa a su hermana, hija de su padre o hija de su madre, viendo así la desnudez de ella y ella la desnudez de él, es una ignominia. Serán exterminados en presencia de los hijos de su pueblo. Ha descubierto la desnudez de su hermana: cargará con su iniquidad.
18 "The man who has intercourse with a woman during her monthly periods and exposes hernakedness: he has laid bare the source of her blood, and she has exposed the source of her blood, and both ofthem wil be outlawed from their people.	18 El que se acueste con mujer durante el tiempo de la reglas descubriendo la desnudez de ella, ha puesto al desnudo la fuente de su flujo y ella también ha descubierto la fuente de su sangre. Ambos serán exterminados de entre su pueblo.
19 "You will not have intercourse with your mother's sister or your father's sister. Whoever does so, hashad intercourse with a close relation; they wil bear the consequences of their guilt.	19 No descubras la desnudez de la hermana de tu madre ni de la hermana de tu padre, porque desnudas su propia carne; por eso cargarán con su iniquidad.
20 "The man who has intercourse with the wife of his paternal uncle has infringed his uncle's sexualprerogative; they wil bear the consequences of their guilt and die childless.	20 El que se acueste con la mujer de su tío paterno, descubre la desnudez de éste. Cargarán con su pecado; morirán sin hijos.
21 "The man who marries his brother's wife: this is pol ution; he has infringed his brother's sexualprerogative; they wil die childless.	21 Si uno toma por esposa a la mujer de su hermano, es cosa impura, pues descubre la desnudez de su hermano; quedarán sin hijos.
22 "You will keep al my laws, al my decisions, and put them into practice, so that the country where Iam taking you to live wil not vomit you out.	22 Guardad, pues, todos mis preceptos y todas mis normas, y cumplidlos; así no os vomitará la tierra adonde os llevo para que habitéis en ella.
23 You wil not fol ow the laws of the nations whom I am driving out before you; they practised al thesethings, which is why I detested them.	23 No caminéis según las costumbres de las naciones que yo voy a expulsar ante vosotros; pues, porque han obrado así, yo estoy asqueado de ellas.
24 As I have already told you, you wil take possession of their soil, I myself shal give you possession ofit, a country flowing with milk and honey. "Since I, Yahweh your God, have set you apart from these peoples,	24 Pero a vosotros os he dicho: «Poseeréis su suelo, el que yo os daré en herencia, tierra que mana leche y miel.» Yo soy Yahveh, vuestro Dios, que os ha separado de estos pueblos.
25 you for your part wil make a distinction between clean animals and unclean ones and betweenunclean birds and clean ones, and wil not make yourselves detestable with any animal or bird or reptile, which Ihave set apart from you as unclean.	25 Habéis de hacer separación entre animales puros e impuros, y entre aves impuras y puras; para que no os hagáis abominables, ni con animales ni con aves, ni con lo que se arrastra por el suelo; porque os he separado todo eso como impuro.
26 "Be consecrated to me, for I, Yahweh, am holy, and I shall set you apart from all these peoples, foryou to be mine.	26 Sed, pues, santos para mí, porque yo, Yahveh, soy santo, y os he separado de entre los pueblos, para que seáis míos.
27 "Any man or woman of yours who is a necromancer or magician will be put to death; they wil bestoned to death; their blood wil be on their own heads." '	27 El hombre o la mujer en que haya espíritu de nigromante o adivino, morirá sin remedio: los lapidarán. Caerá su sangre sobre ellos.
