Isaiah 3

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Now the Lord Yahweh Sabaoth is about to deprive Jerusalem and Judah of resources and provisions --al reserves of food, al reserves of water-	1 Sì, ecco il Signore, Dio degli eserciti, rimuove da Gerusalemme e da Giuda sostegno e appoggio, ogni sostegno di pane e ogni appoggio d'acqua:
2 of hero, warrior, judge, prophet, diviner, elder,	2 l'eroe e il guerriero, il giudice ed il profeta, l'indovino e l'anziano,
3 captain, dignitary, counsellor, architect, soothsayer.	3 il comandante di cinquanta, e i notabili e il consigliere, l'abile mago e l'incantatore.
4 'I shal give them boys for princes, raw lads to rule over them.'	4 "Darò loro dei giovani come prìncipi e dei capricciosi li domineranno".
5 People will be il -treated by one another, each by his neighbour; the young wil insult the aged, and thelow, the respected.	5 Nel popolo l'uno opprimerà l'altro, ognuno il suo prossimo, il giovane s'inorgoglirà contro l'anziano e l'abietto contro il nobile.
6 Yes, a man wil catch hold of his brother in their father's house, to say, 'You have a cloak, so you beleader, and rule this heap of ruins.'	6 Uno afferrerà il fratello suo nella casa paterna: "Tu hai un mantello, sii nostro capo e prendi in mano questa rovina".
7 And, that day, the other wil protest, 'I am no healer; in my house there is neither food nor clothing; donot make me leader of the people.'	7 In quel giorno l'altro risponderà: "Io non sono un medico: in casa mia non c'è pane né mantello, non fatemi capo del popolo".
8 For Jerusalem has col apsed and Judah has fallen, because their words and deeds affront Yahweh andinsult his glorious gaze.	8 Gerusalemme è inciampata e Giuda è caduta, poiché le loro parole e le loro azioni sono contro il Signore, irritando lo sguardo della sua maestà.
9 Their complacency bears witness against them, they parade their sin like Sodom; they do not conceal it,al the worse for them, for they have hatched their own downfal .	9 Il loro sguardo testimonia contro di essi; proclamano i loro peccati come Sodoma, non lo nascondono; guai a loro, poiché preparano la loro rovina.
10 Say, 'Blessed the upright, for he will feed on the fruit of his deeds;	10 Dite: "Il giusto, sì, è felice", poiché godrà del frutto delle sue opere.
11 woe to the wicked, it wil go il with him, for he will be treated as his actions deserve.'	11 Guai all'empio! Lo coglierà la sventura, poiché gli capiterà secondo l'opera delle sue mani.
12 O my people, their oppressors pil age them and extortioners rule over them! O my people, your rulersmislead you and efface the paths you ought to fol ow!	12 O mio popolo! un fanciullo l'opprime e donne dominano sopra di lui! Popolo mio, i tuoi condottieri ti traviano, rovinano la strada che tu percorri.
13 Yahweh has risen to accuse, is standing to pass judgement on the people.	13 Il Signore si erge ad accusare, si presenta a giudicare il suo popolo.
14 Yahweh is about to try the elders and the princes of his people, 'You are the ones who have ravagedthe vineyard, the spoils of the poor are in your houses.	14 Il Signore entra in giudizio con gli anziani e con i prìncipi: "Siete voi che avete guastato la vigna, le spoglie del povero si trovano nelle vostre case.
15 By what right do you crush my people and grind the faces of the poor?' says the Lord Yahweh Sabaoth.	15 Perché calpestate il mio popolo e pestate la faccia dei poveri?". Oracolo del Signore, Dio degli eserciti.
16 Yahweh says: Because Zion's daughters are proud and walk with heads held high and enticing eyes --with mincing steps they go, jingling the bangles on their feet-	16 Il Signore dice: "Poiché sono orgogliose le figlie di Sion, camminano con il collo teso e con occhi provocatori, camminano a piccoli passi e ai loro piedi fanno tintinnare gli anelli,
17 the Lord will give Zion's daughters scabby heads, Yahweh will lay their foreheads bare.	17 il Signore renderà tignoso il cranio delle figlie di Sion, il Signore metterà a nudo la loro fronte".
18 That day the Lord wil take away the ornamental chains, medallions, crescents,	18 In quel giorno il Signore toglierà l'ornamento degli anelli alle caviglie, fermagli e lunette,
19 pendants, bracelets, trinkets,	19 orecchini, braccialetti e veli,
20 diadems, ankle-chains, necklaces, scent bottles, amulets,	20 turbanti, catenelle ai piedi, cinture, vasetti di profumo e amuleti,
21 finger-rings, nose-rings,	21 anelli e monili da naso,
22 party dresses, cloaks, scarves, purses,	22 stoffe preziose, mantellette, scialli e borsette,
23 mirrors, linen clothes, turbans and mantillas.	23 specchi, tuniche, tiare e vestaglie.
24 Then, instead of perfume, a stink; instead of belt, a rope, instead of hair elaborately dressed, a shavenscalp, instead of gorgeous clothes, sacking round the waist, and brand marks instead of beauty.	24 Invece di profumo vi sarà marciume, invece della cintura una corda, invece della tunica una cintura di sacco, una bruciatura invece di bellezza.
25 Your men wil fal by the sword, your warriors in battle,	25 I tuoi uomini cadranno di spada e i tuoi prodi in combattimento.
26 and her gates wil moan and mourn; she wil sit on the ground, deserted.	26 Le sue porte gemeranno e saranno in lutto, disabitata, la città giacerà a terra.
