Isaiah 3

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA MARTINI
1 Now the Lord Yahweh Sabaoth is about to deprive Jerusalem and Judah of resources and provisions --al reserves of food, al reserves of water-	1 Imperocché ecco, che il dominatore Signore degli eserciti torrà a Gerusalemme, ed a Giuda i robusti, e i forti, tutto il sostentamento del pane, tutto il sostentamento dell'acqua.
2 of hero, warrior, judge, prophet, diviner, elder,	2 I forti, e gli uomini battaglieri, il giudice, e il profeta, e l'indovino, e il seniore.
3 captain, dignitary, counsellor, architect, soothsayer.	3 Il capo di cinquant'uomini, e l'uomo di orrevol faccia, e il consigliere, e l'artefice sapiente, e l'uomo prudente nel mistico parlare.
4 'I shal give them boys for princes, raw lads to rule over them.'	4 E darò loro per principi dei ragazzi, e saran dominati da uomini effemminati.
5 People will be il -treated by one another, each by his neighbour; the young wil insult the aged, and thelow, the respected.	5 Il popolo si leverà a furore, uomo contra uomo, e ciascuno contro il suo prossimo. Insolentirà il ragazzo contro il seniore, e il plebeo contro il nobile.
6 Yes, a man wil catch hold of his brother in their father's house, to say, 'You have a cloak, so you beleader, and rule this heap of ruins.'	6 Perocché uno piglierà per mano il suo fratello della famiglia di suo padre (dicendo): Tu se' ben vestito, sii tu nostro principe: porgi la mano tua a questa rovina.
7 And, that day, the other wil protest, 'I am no healer; in my house there is neither food nor clothing; donot make me leader of the people.'	7 Risponderà egli allora: Io non son medico, e in casa mia non è pane, né vestimento, non mi fate principe del popolo.
8 For Jerusalem has col apsed and Judah has fallen, because their words and deeds affront Yahweh andinsult his glorious gaze.	8 Imperocché Gerusalemme va in rovina, e Giuda si perde: perchè la loro lingua, e i loro disegni sono contro il Signore, fino ad irritare gli occhi della sua maestà.
9 Their complacency bears witness against them, they parade their sin like Sodom; they do not conceal it,al the worse for them, for they have hatched their own downfal .	9 La vista della propria lor faccia darà ad essi risposta: perocché come Sodoma si vantavano del lor peccato: guai all'anima loro; perocché son dati loro i mali in ricompensa.
10 Say, 'Blessed the upright, for he will feed on the fruit of his deeds;	10 Dite al giusto, bene sta; perchè egli si goderà i frutti de' suoi consigli.
11 woe to the wicked, it wil go il with him, for he will be treated as his actions deserve.'	11 Guai all'empio malfacente; perocché saragli renduto quel, che han fatto le mani di lui.
12 O my people, their oppressors pil age them and extortioners rule over them! O my people, your rulersmislead you and efface the paths you ought to fol ow!	12 Il popolo mio è spogliato da' suoi esattori, ed è signoreggiato da donne. Popolo mio, quei, che te dicon beato, t'ingannano, e guastano la strada, che tu dei battere.
13 Yahweh has risen to accuse, is standing to pass judgement on the people.	13 Si presenta il Signore per far giudicio, e siede per far giudicio dei popoli.
14 Yahweh is about to try the elders and the princes of his people, 'You are the ones who have ravagedthe vineyard, the spoils of the poor are in your houses.	14 Verrà il Signore a far giudicio dei seniori del popol suo, e de' suoi principi; imperocché voi avete divorata la mia vigna, e in casa vostra son le rapine fatte al povero.
15 By what right do you crush my people and grind the faces of the poor?' says the Lord Yahweh Sabaoth.	15 E perchè stritolate voi il mio popolo, e pestate le facce de' poveri, dice il Signore Dio degli eserciti?
16 Yahweh says: Because Zion's daughters are proud and walk with heads held high and enticing eyes --with mincing steps they go, jingling the bangles on their feet-	16 E il Signore ha detto: Dappoiché le figliuole di Sion si sono inalberate, e passeggiano col collo interato, e sen vanno ammiccando co' loro occhi, e si pavoneggiano, e tripudiano andando coi loro piedi, e a passi studiati camminano;
17 the Lord will give Zion's daughters scabby heads, Yahweh will lay their foreheads bare.	17 Toserà il Signore la testa delle figliuole di Sion, e il Signore le spoglierà di capelli.
18 That day the Lord wil take away the ornamental chains, medallions, crescents,	18 In quel dì il Signore farà sparire l'ornato de' calzari, e le lunette,
19 pendants, bracelets, trinkets,	19 E i vezzi di perle, e i monili, e i braccialetti, e le scuffie,
20 diadems, ankle-chains, necklaces, scent bottles, amulets,	20 E le corone, e le gambiere, e le catenelle, e i vasetti a odori, e gli orecchini,
21 finger-rings, nose-rings,	21 E gli anelli, e le gemme pendenti sulla fronte,
22 party dresses, cloaks, scarves, purses,	22 E le mute degli abiti, e le mantellette, e i candidi veli, e gli spilloni,
23 mirrors, linen clothes, turbans and mantillas.	23 E gli specchi, e i lini finissimi, e le bende, e le vesti da estate;
24 Then, instead of perfume, a stink; instead of belt, a rope, instead of hair elaborately dressed, a shavenscalp, instead of gorgeous clothes, sacking round the waist, and brand marks instead of beauty.	24 E invece di odori soavi avranno fetore, e per cintura una corda, e in cambio de' capelli arricciati avran la calvizie, e per fascia pettorale il cilizio.
25 Your men wil fal by the sword, your warriors in battle,	25 I più avvenenti ancora de' tuoi uomini periranno di spada, e i tuoi campioni in battaglia.
26 and her gates wil moan and mourn; she wil sit on the ground, deserted.	26 E le porte di lei saranno in tristezza, ed in lutto, ed ella desolata sarà assisa per terra.
