3 A furnace for silver, a foundry for gold, but Yahweh for the testing of hearts!	3 La coppella è per l’argento, e il fornello per l’oro; Ma il Signore prova i cuori
4 An evil-doer pays heed to malicious talk, a liar listens to a slanderous tongue.	4 L’uomo maligno presta gli orecchi alle labbra inique; E l’ingannatore ascolta la lingua maliziosa
5 To mock the poor is to insult the Creator, no one who laughs at distress wil go unpunished.	5 Chi beffa il povero fa onta a colui che l’ha fatto; Chi si rallegra della calamità altrui non resterà impunito
6 The crown of the aged is their children's children; the children's glory is their father.	6 I figliuoli de’ figliuoli son la corona de’ vecchi; E i padri son la gloria de’ figliuoli
7 Fine words do not become the foolish, false words become a prince stil less.	7 Il parlar magnifico non è decevole all’uomo da nulla; Quanto meno al principe il labbro falso!
8 A gift works like a talisman for one who holds it: it brings prosperity at every turn.	8 Il presente è, appo chi è dato a ricever presenti, una gioia graziosa; Dovunque si volge produce effetto
9 Whoever covers an offence promotes love, whoever again raises the matter divides friends.	9 Chi copre il fallo procaccia amicizia; Ma chi lo ridice disunisce gli amici
10 A reproof makes more impression on a person of understanding than a hundred strokes on a fool.	10 La riprensione scende più addentro nell’uomo intendente, Che cento percosse date allo stolto
11 The wicked person thinks of nothing but rebellion, but a cruel messenger wil be sent to such a one.	11 Il malvagio non cerca altro che ribellione; Ma l’angelo crudele sarà mandato contro a lui
12 Rather come on a bear robbed of her cubs than on a fool in his fol y.	12 Scontrisi pure in un uomo un’orsa, a cui sieno stati tolti i suoi figli, Anzi che un pazzo nella sua pazzia
13 Disaster wil never be far from the house of one who returns evil for good.	13 Il male non si dipartirà giammai dalla casa Di chi rende il mal per lo bene
14 As well unleash a flood as start a dispute; desist before the quarrel breaks out.	14 Chi comincia la contesa è come chi dà apritura alle acque; Però avanti che si venga alle contumelie, lascia la questione
15 To absolve the guilty and condemn the upright, both alike are abhorrent to Yahweh.	15 Chi assolve il reo, e chi condanna il giusto, Sono amendue ugualmente abbominevoli al Signore
16 What good is money in the hand of a fool? To buy wisdom with it? The desire is not there.	16 A che serve il prezzo in mano allo stolto, Da comperar sapienza, poichè egli non ha alcun senno?
17 A friend is a friend at all times, it is for adversity that a brother is born.	17 L’amico ama in ogni tempo, E il fratello nasce per l’afflizione
18 Whoever offers guarantees lacks sense and goes surety for a neighbour.	18 L’uomo scemo di senno tocca la mano, E fa sicurtà al suo prossimo
19 The double-dealer loves sin, the proud courts ruin.	19 Chi ama contesa ama misfatto; Chi alza la sua porta cerca ruina
20 The tortuous of heart finds no happiness, the perverse of speech fal s into misery.	20 L’uomo perverso di cuore non troverà il bene; E l’uomo stravolto nel suo parlare caderà nel male
21 He who fathers a stupid child does so to his sorrow, the father of a fool knows no joy.	21 Chi genera un pazzo lo genera a suo cordoglio; E il padre dello stolto non si rallegrerà
22 A glad heart is excel ent medicine, a depressed spirit wastes the bones away.	22 Il cuore allegro giova, come una medicina; Ma lo spirito afflitto secca le ossa
23 Under cover of his cloak a bad man takes a gift to pervert the course of justice.	23 L’empio prende il presente dal seno, Per pervertir le vie del giudicio
24 The intelligent has wisdom there before him, but the eyes of a fool range to the ends of the earth.	24 La sapienza è nel cospetto dell’intendente; Ma gli occhi dello stolto riguardano alle estremità della terra
25 A foolish child is a father's sorrow, and the grief of her who gave the child birth.	25 Il figliuolo stolto è sdegno a suo padre, Ed amaritudine a colei che l’ha partorito
26 To fine the upright is indeed a crime, to strike the noble is an injustice.	26 Egli non è bene di condannare il giusto, non pure ad ammenda, Nè che i principi battano alcuno per dirittura
27 Whoever can control the tongue knows what knowledge is, someone of understanding keeps a cooltemper.	27 Chi rattiene i suoi detti è dotato di conoscimento; E chi è di spirito riservato è uomo intendente.
