Proverbs 12

NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 Whoever loves discipline, loves knowledge, stupid are those who hate correction.	1 من يحب التأديب يحب المعرفة ومن يبغض التوبيخ فهو بليد.
2 The honest obtains Yahweh's favour, the schemer incurs his condemnation.	2 الصالح ينال رضى من قبل الرب اما رجل المكايد فيحكم عليه.
3 No one is made secure by wickedness, but nothing shakes the roots of the upright.	3 لا يثبت الانسان بالشر. اما اصل الصدّيقين فلا يتقلقل.
4 A capable wife, her husband's crown, a shameless wife, a cancer in his bones.	4 المرأة الفاضلة تاج لبعلها. اما المخزية فكنخر في عظامه.
5 The plans of the upright are honest, the intrigues of the wicked are full of deceit.	5 افكار الصدّيقين عدل. تدابير الاشرار غش.
6 The words of the wicked are snares to shed blood, what the honest say keeps them safe.	6 كلام الاشرار كمون للدم اما فم المستقيمين فينجيهم.
7 Once thrown down, the wicked are no more, but the house of the upright stands firm.	7 تنقلب الاشرار ولا يكونون. اما بيت الصدّيقين فيثبت.
8 Prudence wins praise, but a tortuous heart incurs only contempt.	8 بحسب فطنته يحمد الانسان. اما الملتوي القلب فيكون للهوان.
9 Better a common fel ow who has a slave than someone who gives himself airs and has nothing to eat.	9 الحقير وله عبد خير من المتمجد ويعوزه الخبز.
10 The upright has compassion on his animals, but the heart of the wicked is ruthless.	10 الصدّيق يراعي نفس بهيمته. اما مراحم الاشرار فقاسية.
11 Whoever works his land shall have bread and to spare, but no one who chases fantasies has anysense.	11 من يشتغل بحقله يشبع خبزا. اما تابع البطّالين فهو عديم الفهم.
12 The godless delights in the snare of the wicked, but the root of the upright bears fruit.	12 اشتهى الشرير صيد الاشرار واصل الصدّيقين يجدي.
13 In the sin of the lips lies a disastrous trap, but the upright finds a way out of misfortune.	13 في معصية الشفتين شرك الشرير. اما الصدّيق فيخرج من الضيق.
14 Abundance of good things is the fruit of the lips; labour brings its own return.	14 الانسان يشبع خيرا من ثمر فمه ومكافأة يدي الانسان ترد له.
15 Fools think the way they go is straight, the wise listens to advice.	15 طريق الجاهل مستقيم في عينيه. اما سامع المشورة فهو حكيم.
16 The fool shows anger straightaway, the discreet conceals dislike.	16 غضب الجاهل يعرف في يومه. اما ساتر الهوان فهو ذكي.
17 To tel the truth is to further justice, a false witness is nothing but deceit.	17 من يتفوه بالحق يظهر العدل والشاهد الكاذب يظهر غشا.
18 Thoughtless words can wound like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.	18 يوجد من يهذر مثل طعن السيف. اما لسان الحكماء فشفاء.
19 Sincere lips endure for ever, the lying tongue lasts only a moment.	19 شفة الصدّيق تثبت الى الابد ولسان الكذب انما هو الى طرفة العين.
20 Deceit is in the heart of the schemer, joy with those who give counsels of peace.	20 الغش في قلب الذين يفكرون في الشر اما المشيرون بالسلام فلهم فرح
21 No harm can come to the upright, but the wicked are swamped by misfortunes.	21 لا يصيب الصدّيق شر. اما الاشرار فيمتلئون سوءا.
22 Lying lips are abhorrent to Yahweh; dear to him those who make truth their way of life.	22 كراهة الرب شفتا كذب. اما العاملون بالصدق فرضاه
23 The discreet keeps knowledge hidden, the heart of fools proclaims their folly.	23 الرجل الذكي يستر المعرفة. وقلب الجاهل ينادي بالحمق.
24 For the diligent hand, authority; for the slack hand, forced labour.	24 يد المجتهدين تسود. اما الرخوة فتكون تحت الجزية.
25 Worry makes a heart heavy, a kindly word makes it glad.	25 الغم في قلب الرجل يحنيه والكلمة الطيبة تفرّحه.
26 The upright shows the way to a friend; the way of the wicked leads them astray.	26 الصدّيق يهدي صاحبه. اما طريق الاشرار فتضلهم.
27 The idle has no game to roast; diligence is anyone's most precious possession.	27 الرخاوة لا تمسك صيدا. اما ثروة الانسان الكريمة فهي الاجتهاد.
28 In the way of uprightness is life, the ways of the vengeful lead to death.	28 في سبيل البر حياة وفي طريق مسلكه لا موت.
