Psalms 97

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Yahweh is king! Let earth rejoice, the many isles be glad!	1 Il Signore regna! Esulti la terra, si rallegrino le isole tutte.
2 Cloud, black cloud enfolds him, saving justice and judgement the foundations of his throne.	2 Nubi e tenebre lo avvolgono, giustizia e diritto sono la base del suo trono.
3 Fire goes before him, sets ablaze his enemies al around;	3 Il fuoco va davanti a lui, consuma tutt'intorno i suoi nemici;
4 his lightning-flashes light up the world, the earth sees it and quakes.	4 rischiarano il mondo le sue folgori, sussulta, al vederle, la terra.
5 The mountains melt like wax, before the Lord of all the earth.	5 I monti fondono come cera davanti a lui, davanti al Signore di tutta la terra.
6 The heavens proclaim his saving justice, all nations see his glory.	6 Annunziano la sua giustizia i cieli e contemplano la sua gloria tutti i popoli.
7 Shame on all who serve images, who pride themselves on their idols; bow down to him, al you gods!	7 Resteranno confusi gli adoratori degl'idoli, quanti si gloriano di nullità. Sono prostrati davanti a lui tutti gli dèi.
8 Zion hears and is glad, the daughters of Judah exult, because of your judgements, Yahweh.	8 Ha udito Sion e ne ha gioito, si sono rallegrate le figlie di Giuda, a causa dei tuoi giudizi, o Signore.
9 For you are Yahweh, Most High over al the earth, far transcending al gods.	9 Sì, tu sei l'Altissimo, Signore, su tutta la terra, oltremodo esaltato al di sopra di tutti gli dèi.
10 Yahweh loves those who hate evil, he keeps safe his faithful, rescues them from the clutches of thewicked.	10 Il Signore ama quanti odiano il male, custodisce la vita dei suoi fedeli, li salva dal potere degli empi.
11 Light dawns for the upright, and joy for honest hearts.	11 Una luce è sorta per i giusti, un motivo di gioia per i retti di cuore.
12 Rejoice in Yahweh, you who are upright, praise his unforgettable holiness.	12 Esultate nel Signore, o giusti, celebrate il suo santo nome.
