Psalms 97

NEW JERUSALEM	NOVA VULGATA
1 Yahweh is king! Let earth rejoice, the many isles be glad!	1 Dominus regnavit! Exsultet terra, laetentur insulae multae.
2 Cloud, black cloud enfolds him, saving justice and judgement the foundations of his throne.	2 Nubes et caligo in circuitu eius, iustitia et iudicium firmamentum sedis eius.
3 Fire goes before him, sets ablaze his enemies al around;	3 Ignis ante ipsum praecedet et inflammabit in circuitu inimicos eius.
4 his lightning-flashes light up the world, the earth sees it and quakes.	4 Illustrarunt fulgura eius orbem terrae: vidit et contremuit terra.
5 The mountains melt like wax, before the Lord of all the earth.	5 Montes sicut cera fluxerunt a facie Domini, a facie Domini omnis terra.
6 The heavens proclaim his saving justice, all nations see his glory.	6 Annuntiaverunt caeli iustitiam eius, et viderunt omnes populi gloriam eius.
7 Shame on all who serve images, who pride themselves on their idols; bow down to him, al you gods!	7 Confundantur omnes, qui adorant sculptilia, et qui gloriantur in simulacris suis. Adorate eum, omnes angeli eius.
8 Zion hears and is glad, the daughters of Judah exult, because of your judgements, Yahweh.	8 Audivit et laetata est Sion, et exsultaverunt filiae Iudae propter iudicia tua, Domine.
9 For you are Yahweh, Most High over al the earth, far transcending al gods.	9 Quoniam tu Dominus, Altissimus super omnem terram, nimis exaltatus es super omnes deos.
10 Yahweh loves those who hate evil, he keeps safe his faithful, rescues them from the clutches of thewicked.	10 Qui diligitis Dominum, odite malum; custodit ipse animas sanctorum suorum, de manu peccatoris liberabit eos.
11 Light dawns for the upright, and joy for honest hearts.	11 Lux orta est iusto, et rectis corde laetitia.
12 Rejoice in Yahweh, you who are upright, praise his unforgettable holiness.	12 Laetamini, iusti, in Domino et confitemini memoriae sanctitatis eius.
