[Psalm Song For the Sabbath] It is good to give thanks to Yahweh, to make music for your name, MostHigh,1 A psalm. A sabbath song.
to proclaim your faithful love at daybreak, and your constancy al through the night,2 It is good to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praise to your name, Most High,
on the lyre, the ten-stringed lyre, to the murmur of the harp.3 To proclaim your love in the morning, your faithfulness in the night,
You have brought me joy, Yahweh, by your deeds, at the work of your hands I cry out,4 With the ten-stringed harp, with melody upon the lyre.
'How great are your works, Yahweh, immensely deep your thoughts!'5 For you make me jubilant, LORD, by your deeds; at the works of your hands I shout for joy.
Stupid people cannot realise this, fools do not grasp it.6 How great are your works, LORD! How profound your purpose!
The wicked may sprout like weeds, and every evil-doer flourish, but only to be eternally destroyed;7 A senseless person cannot know this; a fool cannot comprehend.
whereas you are supreme for ever, Yahweh.8 Though the wicked flourish like grass and all sinners thrive, They are destined for eternal destruction;
Look how your enemies perish, how all evil-doers are scattered!9 for you, LORD, are forever on high.
You give me the strength of the wild ox, you anoint me with fresh oil;10 Indeed your enemies, LORD, indeed your enemies shall perish; all sinners shall be scattered.
I caught sight of the ambush against me, overheard the plans of the wicked.11 You have given me the strength of a wild bull; you have poured rich oil upon me.
The upright wil flourish like the palm tree, will grow like a cedar of Lebanon.12 My eyes look with glee on my wicked enemies; my ears delight in the fall of my foes.
Planted in the house of Yahweh, they wil flourish in the courts of our God.13 The just shall flourish like the palm tree, shall grow like a cedar of Lebanon.
In old age they wil stil bear fruit, wil remain fresh and green,14 Planted in the house of the LORD, they shall flourish in the courts of our God.
to proclaim Yahweh's integrity; my rock, in whom no fault can be found.15 They shall bear fruit even in old age, always vigorous and sturdy,
As they proclaim: "The LORD is just; our rock, in whom there is no wrong."
