4 Yahweh, God Sabaoth, how long wil you flare up at your people's prayer?	4 Fate squillar la tromba del novilunio, nel dì solenne della nostra festa;

7 God Sabaoth, bring us back, let your face shine on us and we shall be safe.	7 Sgravò le sue spalle dai pesi e le sue mani dal portare le ceste.
8 You brought a vine out of Egypt, to plant it you drove out nations;	8 Nella tribolazione tu m'invocasti, ed io ti liberai, ti risposi tra la caligine della tempesta, ti provai all'acqua di contraddizione.
9 you cleared a space for it, it took root and fil ed the whole country.	9 Ascolta. o popolo mio, che ti voglio ammonire: oh, se tu m dessi ascolto, o Israele!
10 The mountains were covered with its shade, and the cedars of God with its branches,	10 Non vi dovrà essere in te nuovo dio, non devi adorare un dio straniero.
11 its boughs stretched as far as the sea, its shoots as far as the River.	11 Io sono il Signore Dio tuo che ti trassi fuori dalla terra d'Egitto: allarga la tua bocca, ed io la riempirò.
12 Why have you broken down its fences? Every passer-by plucks its grapes,	12 Ma il mio popolo non ascoltò la mia voce, Israele non volle sapere di me;
13 boars from the forest tear at it, wild beasts feed on it.	13 Ed io li abbandonai ai desideri del loro cuore: andranno secondo i loro capricci.
14 God Sabaoth, come back, we pray, look down from heaven and see, visit this vine;	14 Se il mio popolo m'avesse dato retta, se Israele avesse camminato nelle mie vie,
15 protect what your own hand has planted.	15 In un momento avrei umiliati i suoi nemici ed avrei messa la mia mano sopra chi l'affligge ».
16 They have thrown it on the fire like dung, the frown of your rebuke wil destroy them.	16 Ai nemici del Signore gli mancaron di fede, ma i1 loro tempo sarà in eterno.
17 May your hand protect those at your side, the child of Adam you have strengthened for yourself!	17 Egli li ha nutriti col fiore dei frumento, li ha saziati col miele stillante dalla roccia.
18 Never again wil we turn away from you, give us life and we will cal upon your name.
