1 [For the choirmaster Tune: 'The decrees are lilies' Of Asaph Psalm] Shepherd of Israel, listen, you wholead Joseph like a flock, enthroned on the winged creatures, shine forth	1 Salmo dello itesso Asaph. Esultate lodando Dio aiuto nostro: alzate voci di giubilo al Dio di Giacobbe.
2 over Ephraim, Benjamin and Manasseh; rouse your valour and come to our help.	2 Intonate salmi, e sonate il timpano, il dolce salterò insieme colla cetra.
3 God, bring us back, let your face shine on us and we shall be safe.	3 Date fiato alla buccina nel novilunio, nel giorno insigne di vostra solennità.
4 Yahweh, God Sabaoth, how long wil you flare up at your people's prayer?	4 Imperocché tal e il comando dato ad Israele, e il rito istituito dal Dio di Giacobbe.
5 You have made tears their food, redoubled tears their drink.	5 Egli lo ha ordinato per memoria a Giuseppe quando usci dalla terra d'Egitto, quando udì una lingua, che a lui era ignota.
6 You let our neighbours quarrel over us, our enemies mock us.	6 Sgravò (Dio) gli omeri di lui da' pesi: le mani di lui avean servito a portare i corbelli.
7 God Sabaoth, bring us back, let your face shine on us and we shall be safe.	7 Mi invocasti nella tribolazione, e io ti liberai: ti esaudii nella cupa tempesta: feci prova di te alle acque di contraddizione.
8 You brought a vine out of Egypt, to plant it you drove out nations;	8 Ascolta, popol mio, ed io ti istruirò: se tu ascolterai me, o Israele, non sarà presso di te dio novello, né adorerai dio straniero.
9 you cleared a space for it, it took root and fil ed the whole country.	9 Imperocché io sono il Signore Dìo tuo, che ti trassi dalla terra d'Egitto: dilata la tua bocca, ed io adempirò i tuoi voti.
10 The mountains were covered with its shade, and the cedars of God with its branches,	10 Ma il popol mio non ascoltò la mia voce, e Israele non mi credette.
11 its boughs stretched as far as the sea, its shoots as far as the River.	11 E io li lasciai andare secondo i desiderj del loro cuore: cammineranno secondo i vani loro consigli.
12 Why have you broken down its fences? Every passer-by plucks its grapes,	12 Se il popol mio mi avesse ascoltato, se nelle mie vie avesse camminato Israele,
13 boars from the forest tear at it, wild beasts feed on it.	13 Con facilità avrei forse umiliati i loro nemici; e sopra color, che gli affliggono avrei stesa la mia mano.
14 God Sabaoth, come back, we pray, look down from heaven and see, visit this vine;	14 I nemici del Signore a lui mancaron di fede, ma verrà il loro tempo, che sarà eterno.
15 protect what your own hand has planted.	15 Ed ei gli ha nudriti di ottimo frumento: e gli ha saziati del miele, che usciva dal masso.
16 They have thrown it on the fire like dung, the frown of your rebuke wil destroy them.
17 May your hand protect those at your side, the child of Adam you have strengthened for yourself!
18 Never again wil we turn away from you, give us life and we will cal upon your name.
19 God Sabaoth, bring us back, let your face shine on us and we shal be safe.
