[Psalm Of Asaph] The God of gods, Yahweh, is speaking, from east to west he summons the earth. | 1 (Per la fine. Salmo di David) |
From Zion, perfection of beauty, he shines forth; | 2 Quando andò a trovarlo il profeta Natan, dopo che egli era stato con Betsabea). |
he is coming, our God, and wil not be silent. Devouring fire ahead of him, raging tempest around him, | 3 Abbi pietà di me, o Dio, secondo la tua grande misericordia, e per l'immensa tua bontà cancella il mio peccato. |
he summons the heavens from on high, and the earth to judge his people.
'Gather to me my faithful, who sealed my covenant by sacrifice.' | 5 Perchè io riconosco il mio delitto e il mio peccato mi sta sempre davanti. |
The heavens proclaim his saving justice, 'God himself is judge.'Pause | 6 Contro di te in particolare ho peccato, il male l'ho fatto dinanzi a te: cosi sei giustificato nelle tue parole e trionfi nel tuo giudizio. |
'Listen, my people, I am speaking, Israel, I am giving evidence against you, I, God, your God. | 7 Ah! |
'It is not with your sacrifices that I find fault, those burnt offerings constantly before me; | 8 E tu, che ami la verità, mi hai svelati gli occulti misteri della tua sapienza! |
I will not accept any bul from your homes, nor a single goat from your folds. |
'For all forest creatures are mine already, the animals on the mountains in their thousands. |
I know every bird in the air, whatever moves in the fields is mine. |
'If I am hungry I shall not tel you, since the world and all it holds is mine. |
Am I to eat the flesh of bul s or drink the blood of goats? 1 |
'Let thanksgiving be your sacrifice to God, fulfil the vows you make to the Most High; | 14 Ridonami la gioia della tua salute e confortami con Io spirito sovrano. |
then if you call to me in time of trouble I wil rescue you and you wil honour me.' |
But to the wicked, God says: 'What right have you to recite my statutes, to take my covenant on yourlips, | 16 Liberami dal sangue, o Dio, o Dio della mia salvezza, e la mia lingua canterà con gioia la tua giustizia. |
when you detest my teaching, and thrust my words behind you? |
'You make friends with a thief as soon as you see one, you feel at home with adulterers, | 18 Se tu avessi desiderato un sacrifizio, l'avrei offerto, ma a te non piacciono gli olocausti. |
your conversation is devoted to wickedness, and your tongue to inventing lies. |
'You sit there, slandering your own brother, you malign your own mother's son. |
You do this, and am I to say nothing? Do you think that I am really like you? I charge you, indict youto your face. |
'Think it out, you who forget God, or I wil tear you apart without hope of a rescuer. | |
Honour to me is a sacrifice of thanksgiving; to the upright I wil show God's salvation.' |
