NEW JERUSALEM	MODERN HEBREW BIBLE
1 [Psalm Of Asaph] The God of gods, Yahweh, is speaking, from east to west he summons the earth.	1 מזמור לאסף אל אלהים יהוה דבר ויקרא ארץ ממזרח שמש עד מבאו
2 From Zion, perfection of beauty, he shines forth;	2 מציון מכלל יפי אלהים הופיע
3 he is coming, our God, and wil not be silent. Devouring fire ahead of him, raging tempest around him,	3 יבא אלהינו ואל יחרש אש לפניו תאכל וסביביו נשערה מאד
4 he summons the heavens from on high, and the earth to judge his people.	4 יקרא אל השמים מעל ואל הארץ לדין עמו
5 'Gather to me my faithful, who sealed my covenant by sacrifice.'	5 אספו לי חסידי כרתי בריתי עלי זבח
6 The heavens proclaim his saving justice, 'God himself is judge.'Pause	6 ויגידו שמים צדקו כי אלהים שפט הוא סלה
7 'Listen, my people, I am speaking, Israel, I am giving evidence against you, I, God, your God.	7 שמעה עמי ואדברה ישראל ואעידה בך אלהים אלהיך אנכי
8 'It is not with your sacrifices that I find fault, those burnt offerings constantly before me;	8 לא על זבחיך אוכיחך ועולתיך לנגדי תמיד
9 I will not accept any bul from your homes, nor a single goat from your folds.	9 לא אקח מביתך פר ממכלאתיך עתודים
10 'For all forest creatures are mine already, the animals on the mountains in their thousands.	10 כי לי כל חיתו יער בהמות בהררי אלף
11 I know every bird in the air, whatever moves in the fields is mine.	11 ידעתי כל עוף הרים וזיז שדי עמדי
12 'If I am hungry I shall not tel you, since the world and all it holds is mine.	12 אם ארעב לא אמר לך כי לי תבל ומלאה
13 Am I to eat the flesh of bul s or drink the blood of goats?	13 האוכל בשר אבירים ודם עתודים אשתה
14 'Let thanksgiving be your sacrifice to God, fulfil the vows you make to the Most High;	14 זבח לאלהים תודה ושלם לעליון נדריך
15 then if you call to me in time of trouble I wil rescue you and you wil honour me.'	15 וקראני ביום צרה אחלצך ותכבדני
16 But to the wicked, God says: 'What right have you to recite my statutes, to take my covenant on yourlips,	16 ולרשע אמר אלהים מה לך לספר חקי ותשא בריתי עלי פיך
17 when you detest my teaching, and thrust my words behind you?	17 ואתה שנאת מוסר ותשלך דברי אחריך
18 'You make friends with a thief as soon as you see one, you feel at home with adulterers,	18 אם ראית גנב ותרץ עמו ועם מנאפים חלקך
19 your conversation is devoted to wickedness, and your tongue to inventing lies.	19 פיך שלחת ברעה ולשונך תצמיד מרמה
20 'You sit there, slandering your own brother, you malign your own mother's son.	20 תשב באחיך תדבר בבן אמך תתן דפי
21 You do this, and am I to say nothing? Do you think that I am really like you? I charge you, indict youto your face.	21 אלה עשית והחרשתי דמית היות אהיה כמוך אוכיחך ואערכה לעיניך
22 'Think it out, you who forget God, or I wil tear you apart without hope of a rescuer.	22 בינו נא זאת שכחי אלוה פן אטרף ואין מציל
23 Honour to me is a sacrifice of thanksgiving; to the upright I wil show God's salvation.'	23 זבח תודה יכבדנני ושם דרך אראנו בישע אלהים
