1 [Psalm Of Asaph] The God of gods, Yahweh, is speaking, from east to west he summons the earth.	1 Salmo di Davidde: quando andò a trovarlo il profeta Nathan, allorché egli si accostò a Bethsabea. Abbi misericordia di me, o Dio, secondo la grande tua misericordia.
2 From Zion, perfection of beauty, he shines forth;	2 E secondo le molte operazioni di tua misericordia scancella la mia iniquità.
3 he is coming, our God, and wil not be silent. Devouring fire ahead of him, raging tempest around him,	3 Lavami ancor più dalla mia iniquità, e mondami dal mio peccato;
4 he summons the heavens from on high, and the earth to judge his people.	4 (Perocché io conosco la mia iniquità, e il mio peccato mi sta sempre davanti;
5 'Gather to me my faithful, who sealed my covenant by sacrifice.'	5 Contro di te solo peccai, e il male feci dinanzi a te): affinchè tu si giustificato nelle tue parole, e riporti vittoria quando se' chiamato in giudizio.
6 The heavens proclaim his saving justice, 'God himself is judge.'Pause	6 Imperocché ecco, che io nelle iniquità fui conceputo, e ne' peccati mi concepì la mia madre.
7 'Listen, my people, I am speaking, Israel, I am giving evidence against you, I, God, your God.	7 Ed ecco, che tu hai amato la verità, tu svelasti a me gli ignoti, e occulti misteri di tua sapienza.
8 'It is not with your sacrifices that I find fault, those burnt offerings constantly before me;	8 Tu mi aspergerai coll'issopo, e sarò mondato: mi laverai, e diverrò bianco più, che la neve.
9 I will not accept any bul from your homes, nor a single goat from your folds.	9 Mi farai sentir parola di letizia, di gaudio, e le ossa umiliate tripudieranno.
10 'For all forest creatures are mine already, the animals on the mountains in their thousands.	10 Rivolgi la tua faccia da' miei peccati, e cancella tutte le mie iniquità.
11 I know every bird in the air, whatever moves in the fields is mine.	11 In me crea, o Dio, un cuor mondo, e lo spirito rettò rinnovella nelle mie viscere.
12 'If I am hungry I shall not tel you, since the world and all it holds is mine.	12 Non rigettarmi dalla tua faccia, o non togliere da me il tuo santo Spirito,
13 Am I to eat the flesh of bul s or drink the blood of goats?	13 Rendimi la letizia del tuo Salvatore, e per mezzo del benefico Spirito tu mi conforta.
14 'Let thanksgiving be your sacrifice to God, fulfil the vows you make to the Most High;	14 Insegnerò le tue vie agli iniqui, o gli empj a te si convertiranno.
15 then if you call to me in time of trouble I wil rescue you and you wil honour me.'	15 Liberami dal reato del sangue, o Dio, Dio di mia salute, e la mia lingua, canterà con gaudio la tua giustizia.
16 But to the wicked, God says: 'What right have you to recite my statutes, to take my covenant on yourlips,	16 Signore, tu aprirai le mie labbra, la mia bocca annunzierà le tue lodi.
17 when you detest my teaching, and thrust my words behind you?	17 Imperocché se un sagrifizio tu avessi voluto, lo avrei offerto: tu non ti compiacerai degli olocausti.
18 'You make friends with a thief as soon as you see one, you feel at home with adulterers,	18 Sagrifizio a Dio lo spirito addolorato: il cuore contrito, e umiliato noi disprezzerai tu, o Dio.
19 your conversation is devoted to wickedness, and your tongue to inventing lies.	19 Colla buona volontà tua sii benefico, o Signore, verso Sionne, affinchè stabilite siano le mura di Gerusalemme.
20 'You sit there, slandering your own brother, you malign your own mother's son.	20 Tu accetterai allora il sagrifizio di giustizia, le obblazioni, e gli olocausti: allora porranno de' vitelli sul tuo altare.
21 You do this, and am I to say nothing? Do you think that I am really like you? I charge you, indict youto your face.
22 'Think it out, you who forget God, or I wil tear you apart without hope of a rescuer.
23 Honour to me is a sacrifice of thanksgiving; to the upright I wil show God's salvation.'
