Psalms 2

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA CEI 2008
1 Why this uproar among the nations, this impotent muttering of the peoples?	1 Perché le genti sono in tumultoe i popoli cospirano invano?
2 Kings of the earth take up position, princes plot together against Yahweh and his anointed,	2 Insorgono i re della terrae i prìncipi congiurano insiemecontro il Signore e il suo consacrato:
3 'Now let us break their fetters! Now let us throw off their bonds!'	3 «Spezziamo le loro catene,gettiamo via da noi il loro giogo!».
4 He who is enthroned in the heavens laughs, Yahweh makes a mockery of them,	4 Ride colui che sta nei cieli,il Signore si fa beffe di loro.
5 then in his anger rebukes them, in his rage he strikes them with terror.	5 Egli parla nella sua ira,li spaventa con la sua collera:
6 'I myself have anointed my king on Zion my holy mountain.'	6 «Io stesso ho stabilito il mio sovranosul Sion, mia santa montagna».
7 I wil proclaim the decree of Yahweh: He said to me, 'You are my son, today have I fathered you.	7 Voglio annunciare il decreto del Signore.Egli mi ha detto: «Tu sei mio figlio,io oggi ti ho generato.
8 Ask of me, and I shal give you the nations as your birthright, the whole wide world as your possession.	8 Chiedimi e ti darò in eredità le gentie in tuo dominio le terre più lontane.
9 With an iron sceptre you wil break them, shatter them like so many pots.'	9 Le spezzerai con scettro di ferro,come vaso di argilla le frantumerai».
10 So now, you kings, come to your senses, you earthly rulers, learn your lesson!	10 E ora siate saggi, o sovrani;lasciatevi correggere, o giudici della terra;
11 In fear be submissive to Yahweh;	11 servite il Signore con timoree rallegratevi con tremore.
12 with trembling kiss his feet, lest he be angry and your way come to nothing, for his fury flares up in amoment. How blessed are al who take refuge in him!	12 Imparate la disciplina,perché non si adiri e voi perdiate la via:in un attimo divampa la sua ira.Beato chi in lui si rifugia.
