Psalms 2

NEW JERUSALEM	NOVA VULGATA
1 Why this uproar among the nations, this impotent muttering of the peoples?	1 Quare fremuerunt gentes, et populi meditati sunt inania?
2 Kings of the earth take up position, princes plot together against Yahweh and his anointed,	2 Astiterunt reges terrae, et principes convenerunt in unum adversus Dominum et adversus christum eius:
3 'Now let us break their fetters! Now let us throw off their bonds!'	3 “ Dirumpamus vincula eorum et proiciamus a nobis iugum ipsorum! ”.
4 He who is enthroned in the heavens laughs, Yahweh makes a mockery of them,	4 Qui habitat in caelis, irridebit eos, Dominus subsannabit eos.
5 then in his anger rebukes them, in his rage he strikes them with terror.	5 Tunc loquetur ad eos in ira sua et in furore suo conturbabit eos:
6 'I myself have anointed my king on Zion my holy mountain.'	6 “ Ego autem constitui regem meum super Sion, montem sanctum meum! ”.
7 I wil proclaim the decree of Yahweh: He said to me, 'You are my son, today have I fathered you.	7 Praedicabo decretum eius. Dominus dixit ad me: “ Filius meus es tu; ego hodie genui te.
8 Ask of me, and I shal give you the nations as your birthright, the whole wide world as your possession.	8 Postula a me, et dabo tibi gentes hereditatem tuam et possessionem tuam terminos terrae.
9 With an iron sceptre you wil break them, shatter them like so many pots.'	9 Reges eos in virga ferrea et tamquam vas figuli confringes eos ”.
10 So now, you kings, come to your senses, you earthly rulers, learn your lesson!	10 Et nunc, reges, intellegite; erudimini, qui iudicatis terram.
11 In fear be submissive to Yahweh;	11 Servite Domino in timore et exsultate ei cum tremore.
12 with trembling kiss his feet, lest he be angry and your way come to nothing, for his fury flares up in amoment. How blessed are al who take refuge in him!	12 Apprehendite disciplinam, ne quando irascatur, et pereatis de via, cum exarserit in brevi ira eius. Beati omnes, qui confidunt in eo.
