1 Why this uproar among the nations, this impotent muttering of the peoples?	1 - Perché fremon le gentie i popoli macchinano vane [trame]?
2 Kings of the earth take up position, princes plot together against Yahweh and his anointed,	2 Si fanno avanti i re della terrae i principi si collegano insiemecontro il Signore e il suo Messia.
3 'Now let us break their fetters! Now let us throw off their bonds!'	3 «Spezziamo» [gridano] «le loro catene, gettiamo via da noi il loro giogo».
4 He who is enthroned in the heavens laughs, Yahweh makes a mockery of them,	4 Colui che abita ne' cieli, si ride di loroe il Signor ne sghignazza.
5 then in his anger rebukes them, in his rage he strikes them with terror.	5 Poi parla loro nell'ira suae nel suo furor gli sgomenta.
6 'I myself have anointed my king on Zion my holy mountain.'	6 «Da lui sono stato costituito resopra Sion, sul santo suo monte, per promulgare il suo decreto.
7 I wil proclaim the decree of Yahweh: He said to me, 'You are my son, today have I fathered you.	7 Il Signore mi disse: - Mio figliuolo sei tu, oggi io ti ho generato.
8 Ask of me, and I shal give you the nations as your birthright, the whole wide world as your possession.	8 Chiedi a me, e ti darò le genti per tuo retaggio, e per tuo dominio i confini della terra.
9 With an iron sceptre you wil break them, shatter them like so many pots.'	9 Li reggerai con scettro di ferro, e come vaso di vasaio gli stritolerai -».
10 So now, you kings, come to your senses, you earthly rulers, learn your lesson!	10 Pertanto, o re, abbiate giudizio, imparate, o giudici della terra!
11 In fear be submissive to Yahweh;	11 Servite il Signore con timore ed esultate dinanzi a lui con tremore.
12 with trembling kiss his feet, lest he be angry and your way come to nothing, for his fury flares up in amoment. How blessed are al who take refuge in him!	12 Accogliete l'ammonizione e [ravvedetevi], perché non s'adiri il Signore, e periate lontano dalla retta via,
	13 quando divampi a un tratto l'ira sua. Beati tutti coloro che in lui confidano!
