1 [Song of Ascents Of David] I rejoiced that they said to me, 'Let us go to the house of Yahweh.'	1 - Cantico de' gradini. A Te inalzo i miei occhi, che dimori ne' cieli.
2 At last our feet are standing at your gates, Jerusalem!	2 Ecco! Come gli occhi de' servi [son fissi] alle mani de' loro padroni, come gli occhi dell'ancella alla mano della sua signora, così gli occhi nostri al Signore Iddio nostro, finchè abbia pietà di noi.
3 Jerusalem, built as a city, in one united whole,	3 Abbi pietà di noi, o Signore, abbi di noi pietà! Perchè troppo siam pieni di sprezzo,
4 there the tribes go up, the tribes of Yahweh, a sign for Israel to give thanks to the name of Yahweh.	4 perchè troppo n'[è] piena l'anima nostra: [siamo oggetto di] ludibrio per i facoltosi e [di] sprezzo per i superbi!
5 For there are set the thrones of judgement, the thrones of the house of David.
6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, prosperity for your homes!
7 Peace within your wal s, prosperity in your palaces!
8 For love of my brothers and my friends I wil say, 'Peace upon you!'
9 For love of the house of Yahweh our God I wil pray for your wel -being.
