1 [Song of Ascents Of David] I rejoiced that they said to me, 'Let us go to the house of Yahweh.'	1 Canto delle salite. Di Davide.Quale gioia, quando mi dissero:«Andremo alla casa del Signore!».
2 At last our feet are standing at your gates, Jerusalem!	2 Già sono fermi i nostri piedialle tue porte, Gerusalemme!
3 Jerusalem, built as a city, in one united whole,	3 Gerusalemme è costruitacome città unita e compatta.
4 there the tribes go up, the tribes of Yahweh, a sign for Israel to give thanks to the name of Yahweh.	4 È là che salgono le tribù,le tribù del Signore,secondo la legge d’Israele,per lodare il nome del Signore.
5 For there are set the thrones of judgement, the thrones of the house of David.	5 Là sono posti i troni del giudizio,i troni della casa di Davide.
6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, prosperity for your homes!	6 Chiedete pace per Gerusalemme:vivano sicuri quelli che ti amano;
7 Peace within your wal s, prosperity in your palaces!	7 sia pace nelle tue mura,sicurezza nei tuoi palazzi.
8 For love of my brothers and my friends I wil say, 'Peace upon you!'	8 Per i miei fratelli e i miei amiciio dirò: «Su te sia pace!».
9 For love of the house of Yahweh our God I wil pray for your wel -being.	9 Per la casa del Signore nostro Dio,chiederò per te il bene.
