1 [Song of Ascents Of David] I rejoiced that they said to me, 'Let us go to the house of Yahweh.'	1 Cantico dei gradi. Alzai gli occhi miei a te, che fai tuo soggiorno ne' cieli.
2 At last our feet are standing at your gates, Jerusalem!	2 Ecco che come gli occhi de' servi son fissamente rivolti alle mani de' padroni;
3 Jerusalem, built as a city, in one united whole,	3 Come gli occhi dell'ancella son fissamente rivolti alle mani della padrona; così gli occhi nostri al Signore Dio nostro in aspettando, ch'egli abbia di noi pietà.
4 there the tribes go up, the tribes of Yahweh, a sign for Israel to give thanks to the name of Yahweh.	4 Abbi pietà di noi, o Signore, abbi di noi pietà; perocché siam satolli di disprezzo oìtre modo:
5 For there are set the thrones of judgement, the thrones of the house of David.	5 Perché molto ne è satolla l'anima nostra: ella oggetto di obbrobrio ai facoltosi, e di scherno ai superbi.
6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, prosperity for your homes!
7 Peace within your wal s, prosperity in your palaces!
8 For love of my brothers and my friends I wil say, 'Peace upon you!'
9 For love of the house of Yahweh our God I wil pray for your wel -being.
