Job 37

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 At this, my very heart quakes and leaps out of its place.	1 Mi corazón también por eso tiembla, y salta fuera de su sitio.
2 Listen, oh listen, to the blast of his voice and the sound that issues from his mouth.	2 ¡Escuchad, escuchad el fragor de su voz, el bramido que sale de su boca!
3 His lightning is hurled across the heaven, it strikes to the extremities of earth.	3 Hace relampaguear por todo el cielo, su fulgor llega a los extremos de la tierra.
4 After it comes a roaring sound, God thunders with majestic voice. He does not check his thunderboltsuntil his voice resounds no more.	4 Detrás de él una voz ruge: truena él con su soberbia voz, y sus rayos no retiene, mientras su voz retumba.
5 Yes, certainly God shows us marvels and does great deeds that we cannot understand.	5 Dios nos da a ver maravillas, grandes cosas hace que no comprendemos.
6 When he says to the snow, 'Fal on the earth!' to the showers, 'Now rain hard!'	6 Cuando dice a la nieve: «¡Cae sobre la tierra!», y a los aguaceros: «¡Lloved fuerte!»,
7 he brings al human activity to a standstil , for everyone to acknowledge his work.	7 la mano de todo hombre retiene bajo sello, para que todos conozcan su obra.
8 The animals go back to their dens and take shelter in their lairs.	8 Las fieras a sus guaridas huyen y en sus cubiles se cobijan.
9 The storm wind comes from the Mansion of the South, and the north winds usher in the cold.	9 Del sur llega el huracán, el frío, de los vientos del norte.
10 At the breath of God, ice comes next, the surface of the waters hardens over.	10 Al soplo de Dios se forma el hielo, se congela la extensión de las aguas.
11 He weighs the clouds down with moisture, and the storm clouds radiate his lightning.	11 El carga a la nube de un rayo, el nublado esparce su fulgor,
12 He himself guides their wheeling motion presiding over their seasonal changes. They carry out hisorders to the letter al over this earthly world.	12 y éste, gira girando, circula conforme a sus designios. Así ejecutan sus órdenes en todo sobre la haz de su orbe terráqueo.
13 Whether to punish earth's peoples or as a work of faithful love, he despatches them.	13 Ya como castigo para los pueblos de la tierra, ya como gracia, él los envía.
14 Listen to this, Job, without flinching and reflect on the marvel ous works of God.	14 Presta, Job, oído a esto, tente y observa los prodigios de Dios.
15 Do you know how God controls them or how his clouds make the lightning flash?	15 ¿Sabes acaso cómo Dios los rige, y cómo su nube hace brillar el rayo?
16 Do you know how he balances the clouds -- a miracle of consummate skil ?	16 ¿Sabes tú cómo las nubes cuelgan en equilibrio, 7 maravilla de una ciencia consumada?
17 When your clothes are hot to your body and the earth lies stil under the south wind,	17 Tú, cuyos vestidos queman cuando está quieta la tierra bajo el viento del sur,
18 can you, like him, stretch out the sky, tempered like a mirror of cast metal?	18 ¿puedes extender con él la bóveda del cielo, sólida como espejo de metal fundido?
19 Teach me what we should say to him: but better discuss no further, since we are in the dark.	19 Enséñanos qué le hemos de decir: no discutiremos más, debido a las tinieblas.
20 Does he take note when I speak? When human beings give orders, does he take it in?	20 Si hablo yo, ¿alguien se lo cuenta? ¿es informado de lo que un hombre ha dicho?
21 There are times when the light vanishes, behind darkening clouds; then comes the wind, sweepingthem away.	21 Ahora ya no se ve la luz, que queda oscurecida por las nubes; pero pasa el viento y las despeja,
22 and brightness spreads from the north. God is clothed in fearful splendour:	22 y una claridad llega del norte: gloria terrible alrededor de Dios,
23 he, Shaddai, is far beyond our reach. Supreme in power, in equity, excel ing in saving justice, yet nooppressor-	23 ¡es Sadday!, no podemos alcanzarle. Grande en fuerza y equidad, maestro de justicia, sin oprimir a nadie.
24 no wonder then that people fear him: everyone thoughtful holds him in awe!	24 Por eso le temen los hombres: ¡a él la veneración de todos los sabios de corazón!
