Job 32

1 These three men stopped arguing with Job, because he was convinced of his uprightness.	1 discorsi di Giobbe sono finiti. Quei tre uomini non risposero più nulla a Giobbe poiché era giusto ai loro occhi.
2 But Elihu son of Barachel the Buzite, of the clan of Ram, became very angry. He fumed with rageagainst Job for thinking that he was right and God was wrong;	2 Ma Elihu, figlio di Baracheel, il Buzita, della famiglia di Ram, si accese di collera: si accese di collera contro Giobbe, perché si era proclamato giusto di fronte a Dio;
3 and he was equal y angry with the three friends for giving up the argument and thus putting God in thewrong.	3 e si accese di collera anche con i tre amici di lui, perché non avevano trovato una risposta, benché avessero condannato Giobbe.
4 While they and Job were talking, Elihu had waited, because they were older than he was;	4 Ora Elihu, perché quelli erano più vecchi di lui, aveva aspettato per parlare a Giobbe.
5 but when he saw that the three men had not another word to say in answer, his anger burst out.	5 Elihu vide che non c’era più risposta sulla bocca dei tre uomini e si accese di collera.
6 And Elihu son of Barachel the Buzite began to speak. He said: I am stil young, and you are old, so Iwas shy and hesitant to tel you what I know.	6 Allora Elihu, figlio di Baracheel, il Buzita, prese la parola e disse: «Io sono giovane d’età e voi già vecchi: perciò ho avuto paura e temo di esporvi il mio parere.
7 I thought, 'Age ought to speak, advancing years wil convey wisdom.'	7 Mi sono detto: “Parlerà l’età e i molti anni faranno conoscere la sapienza”.
8 There is, you see, a spirit residing in humanity, the breath of God conferring intelligence.	8 Ma nell’uomo è un’ispirazione ed è il soffio di Shaddai che dà l’intelligenza.
9 Great age does not give wisdom, nor seniority fair judgement.	9 Non i grandi sono saggi né gli anziani comprendono rettamente.
10 And so I ask you for a hearing; now it is my turn to tel what I know.	10 Perciò io dico: “Ascoltatemi, esporrò anch’io il mio pensiero”.
11 Up to now, I was hanging on your words, I paid attention to your arguments as each of you chose hiswords.	11 Ecco, ho seguito i vostri discorsi, ho teso le orecchie ai vostri ragionamenti, finché cercavate che cosa dire. Su di voi ho fissato la mia attenzione
12 I paid very close attention; and I see that none of you has confounded Job, not one of you has refutedwhat he says.	12 ed ecco nessuno ha confutato Giobbe, nessuno di voi ha risposto alle sue parole.
13 So do not say, 'We have found wisdom; our teaching is divine and not human.'	13 Perciò non dite: “Noi abbiamo trovato la sapienza, ma solo Dio può convincerlo, non un uomo”.
14 I am not going to follow the same line of argument; my reply to Job wil be couched in different terms.	14 Egli non ha indirizzato a me la parola né io gli risponderò con le vostre parole:
15 They are nonplussed for an answer, words have failed them.	15 essì sono sconcertati, non rispondono più, le parole sono venute loro meno.
16 I have been waiting. Since they do not speak, since they have given up the argument,	16 Io ho aspettato, ma poiché non parlano, poiché stanno lì senza rispondere,
17 now I shal have my say, my turn has come to say what I know.	17 risponderò io per la mia parte,
18 For I am ful of words and forced to speak by a spirit within me;	18 esporrò anch’io il mio pensiero: poiché mi sento pieno di parole e lo spirito nel mio interno mi forza.
19 within me, it feels like new wine seeking a vent, bursting out of new wine-skins.	19 Ecco: il mio interno è come un vino senza sfogo, come un vino che fa scoppiare gli otri nuovi;
20 To gain relief, I must speak, I must open my lips and reply.	20 parlerò dunque e mi sarà di sollievo, aprirò le labbra e risponderò.
21 I shall not take anyone's side, I shall not flatter anyone.	21 Ma non prenderò la parte di nessuno, non voglio adulare nessuno,
22 I do not know how to flatter -- or my Creator would make short work of me.	22 perché io non so adulare: il mio creatore mi toglierebbe di mezzo in poco tempo.
