Job 32

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 These three men stopped arguing with Job, because he was convinced of his uprightness.	1 Estos tres hombres dejaron de responder a Job, porque él estaba convencido de su justicia.
2 But Elihu son of Barachel the Buzite, of the clan of Ram, became very angry. He fumed with rageagainst Job for thinking that he was right and God was wrong;	2 Entonces se encendió la ira de Elihú, hijo de Baraquel, el buzita de la familia de Ram. Su ira se encendió contra Job, porque él pretendía ser más justo que Dios.
3 and he was equal y angry with the three friends for giving up the argument and thus putting God in thewrong.	3 Y su ira se encendió también contra sus tres amigos, porque no habían encontrado una respuesta, con lo cual condenaban a Dios.
4 While they and Job were talking, Elihu had waited, because they were older than he was;	4 Mientras ellos hablaban con Job, Elihú se había mantenido a la expectativa, porque ellos tenían más edad que él.
5 but when he saw that the three men had not another word to say in answer, his anger burst out.	5 Pero al ver que estos tres hombres se habían quedado sin respuesta, se llenó de indignación.
6 And Elihu son of Barachel the Buzite began to speak. He said: I am stil young, and you are old, so Iwas shy and hesitant to tel you what I know.	6 Entonces Elihú, hijo de Baraquel, el buzita, tomó la palabra y dijo: Yo soy muy joven todavía y todos ustedes son ancianos; por eso me sentí intimidado, temeroso de exponerles mi saber.
7 I thought, 'Age ought to speak, advancing years wil convey wisdom.'	7 Yo pensaba: «Que hable la edad, que los muchos años enseñen la sabiduría».
8 There is, you see, a spirit residing in humanity, the breath of God conferring intelligence.	8 Pero es el espíritu que hay en el hombre y el soplo del Todopoderoso, el que lo hace inteligente:
9 Great age does not give wisdom, nor seniority fair judgement.	9 no son los viejos los más sabios, ni los ancianos comprenden lo que es recto.
10 And so I ask you for a hearing; now it is my turn to tel what I know.	10 Por eso les digo: «Escúchenme, también yo expondré mi saber».
11 Up to now, I was hanging on your words, I paid attention to your arguments as each of you chose hiswords.	11 Yo esperaba que ustedes hablaran, prestaba oído a sus razonamientos; mientras trataban de expresarse,
12 I paid very close attention; and I see that none of you has confounded Job, not one of you has refutedwhat he says.	12 fijaba mi atención en ustedes. Pero no hay nadie que haya refutado a Job, ninguno de ustedes respondió a sus palabras.
13 So do not say, 'We have found wisdom; our teaching is divine and not human.'	13 No digan, entonces» «Hemos hallado la sabiduría; es Dios el que nos instruye, no un hombre».
14 I am not going to follow the same line of argument; my reply to Job wil be couched in different terms.	14 No voy a dirigir palabras como esas, no voy a responder como lo hacen ustedes.
15 They are nonplussed for an answer, words have failed them.	15 Han quedado consternados, no han vuelto a responder; se han quedado sin palabras.
16 I have been waiting. Since they do not speak, since they have given up the argument,	16 ¡Y esperé bastante! Si ellos no hablan, si se quedan allí y no responden más,
17 now I shal have my say, my turn has come to say what I know.	17 yo también recitaré mi saber.
18 For I am ful of words and forced to speak by a spirit within me;	18 Porque las palabras bullen dentro de mí, el espíritu me impulsa en mi interior.
19 within me, it feels like new wine seeking a vent, bursting out of new wine-skins.	19 Mi pecho es como un vino que no tiene salida y hace estallar los odres nuevos.
20 To gain relief, I must speak, I must open my lips and reply.	20 Quiero hablar para desahogarme, abriré mis labios y responderé.
21 I shall not take anyone's side, I shall not flatter anyone.	21 No tomaré partido por nadie, no adularé a ningún hombre.
22 I do not know how to flatter -- or my Creator would make short work of me.	22 Porque yo no sé lo que es adular: si lo hiciera, pronto me llevaría mi Creador.
