Job 32

1 These three men stopped arguing with Job, because he was convinced of his uprightness.	1 Or que' tre uomini lasciarono ili rispondere a Giobbe, perché egli si teneva per giusto.
2 But Elihu son of Barachel the Buzite, of the clan of Ram, became very angry. He fumed with rageagainst Job for thinking that he was right and God was wrong;	2 Ma Eliu figliuolo di Barachel, Buzite, della stirpe di Ram diede in escandescenza, e si sdegnò contro Giobbe, perché questi diceva se esser giusto dinanzi a Dio.
3 and he was equal y angry with the three friends for giving up the argument and thus putting God in thewrong.	3 E si adirò eziandio cogli amici di lui, perché non avean saputo trovare risposta conveniente, ma solo avean condannato Giobbe.
4 While they and Job were talking, Elihu had waited, because they were older than he was;	4 Eliu adunque aspettò, che Giobbe avesse parlato, perché quelli che avean parlato innanzi eran di età maggiori;
5 but when he saw that the three men had not another word to say in answer, his anger burst out.	5 Ma quando egli vide, che i tre non potevan rispondere, ne concepì un fiero sdegno.
6 And Elihu son of Barachel the Buzite began to speak. He said: I am stil young, and you are old, so Iwas shy and hesitant to tel you what I know.	6 E presa la parola Eliu figliuolo di Barachel di Buzi disse: Io sono il più giovane di età, e voi più vecchi; per questo abbassando il capo non ho ardito di esporvi il mio sentimento.
7 I thought, 'Age ought to speak, advancing years wil convey wisdom.'	7 Perocché io sperava, che l'età più matura avrebbe parlato, e che i molti anni sarebber maestri di sapienza.
8 There is, you see, a spirit residing in humanity, the breath of God conferring intelligence.	8 Ma per guanto io veggo lo spirito è negli uomini, ma dall'ispirazione dell'Onnipotente viene l'intelligenza.
9 Great age does not give wisdom, nor seniority fair judgement.	9 Non quelli di lunga età sono sapienti, né i vecchj son quelli, che sono capaci di ben giudicare.
10 And so I ask you for a hearing; now it is my turn to tel what I know.	10 Per questo io parlerò: ascoltatemi, mostrerò io pure a voi quel, ch'io mi sappia.
11 Up to now, I was hanging on your words, I paid attention to your arguments as each of you chose hiswords.	11 Perocché io diedi luogo a' vostri ragionamenti, stetti attento alle vostre ragioni, fino a tanto che son durate le vostre dispute.
12 I paid very close attention; and I see that none of you has confounded Job, not one of you has refutedwhat he says.	12 E fintantoché io credetti, che voi foste per dir qualche cosa, stetti sullo mie; ma per quanto veggo nissun di voi può riconvenir Giobbe, né rispondere alle sue parole.
13 So do not say, 'We have found wisdom; our teaching is divine and not human.'	13 Né mi state a dire: Noi abbiam trovato il gran punto: egli è Dio, e non un uomo colui che l'ha riprovato.
14 I am not going to follow the same line of argument; my reply to Job wil be couched in different terms.	14 Egli non ha detta parola a me, ed io non risponderò a lui a tenore de' vostri ragionamenti.
15 They are nonplussed for an answer, words have failed them.	15 Costoro si sono intimiditi, non han più data risposta, si sono ammutoliti.
16 I have been waiting. Since they do not speak, since they have given up the argument,	16 Dacché io pertanto ho aspettato, ed eglino non hanno parlato, han fatta pausa, e non han più risposto:
17 now I shal have my say, my turn has come to say what I know.	17 Parlerò anch'io per la parte mia, e mostrerò il mio sapere.
18 For I am ful of words and forced to speak by a spirit within me;	18 Perocché son pieno di cose da dire, e mi soffoga lo spirito, ch'io porto in seno.
19 within me, it feels like new wine seeking a vent, bursting out of new wine-skins.	19 Come un vino nuovo, che non ha esalazione spezza i nuovi vasi, così nel mio petto succede.
20 To gain relief, I must speak, I must open my lips and reply.	20 Parlerò affine di respirare alena poco: aprirò le labbra, e risponderò.
21 I shall not take anyone's side, I shall not flatter anyone.	21 Non sarò accettator di persone e non agguaglierò l'uomo a Dio.
22 I do not know how to flatter -- or my Creator would make short work of me.	22 Perocché non so io quanto tempo ancor durerò, e se dopo breve spazio verrà a prendermi il mio Creatore.
