Exodus 28

NEW JERUSALEM	LXX
1 'From among the Israelites, summon your brother Aaron and his sons to be priests in my service:Aaron and Aaron's sons Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.	1 και συ προσαγαγου προς σεαυτον τον τε ααρων τον αδελφον σου και τους υιους αυτου εκ των υιων ισραηλ ιερατευειν μοι ααρων και ναδαβ και αβιουδ και ελεαζαρ και ιθαμαρ υιους ααρων
2 For your brother Aaron you wil make sacred vestments to give dignity and magnificence.	2 και ποιησεις στολην αγιαν ααρων τω αδελφω σου εις τιμην και δοξαν
3 You will instruct al the skilled men, whom I have endowed with skil , to make Aaron's vestments for hisconsecration to my priesthood.	3 και συ λαλησον πασι τοις σοφοις τη διανοια ους ενεπλησα πνευματος αισθησεως και ποιησουσιν την στολην την αγιαν ααρων εις το αγιον εν η ιερατευσει μοι
4 These are the vestments which they must make: a pectoral, an ephod, a robe, an embroidered tunic, aturban and a belt. They must make sacred vestments for your brother Aaron and his sons, for them to be priestsin my service.	4 και αυται αι στολαι ας ποιησουσιν το περιστηθιον και την επωμιδα και τον ποδηρη και χιτωνα κοσυμβωτον και κιδαριν και ζωνην και ποιησουσιν στολας αγιας ααρων και τοις υιοις αυτου εις το ιερατευειν μοι
5 They wil use gold and violet material, red-purple and crimson, and finely woven linen.	5 και αυτοι λημψονται το χρυσιον και την υακινθον και την πορφυραν και το κοκκινον και την βυσσον
6 'They wil make the ephod of finely woven linen embroidered with gold, violet-purple, red-purple andcrimson.	6 και ποιησουσιν την επωμιδα εκ βυσσου κεκλωσμενης εργον υφαντον ποικιλτου
7 It wil have two shoulder-straps joined to it; it will be joined to them by its two edges.	7 δυο επωμιδες συνεχουσαι εσονται αυτω ετερα την ετεραν επι τοις δυσι μερεσιν εξηρτημεναι
8 The waistband on the ephod to hold it in position must be of the same workmanship and be of a piecewith it: of gold, violet-purple, red-purple and crimson materials and finely woven linen.	8 και το υφασμα των επωμιδων ο εστιν επ' αυτω κατα την ποιησιν εξ αυτου εσται εκ χρυσιου και υακινθου και πορφυρας και κοκκινου διανενησμενου και βυσσου κεκλωσμενης
9 You will then take two cornelians and engrave them with the names of the sons of Israel,	9 και λημψη τους δυο λιθους λιθους σμαραγδου και γλυψεις εν αυτοις τα ονοματα των υιων ισραηλ
10 six of their names on one stone, the remaining six names on the other, in the order of their birth.	10 εξ ονοματα επι τον λιθον τον ενα και τα εξ ονοματα τα λοιπα επι τον λιθον τον δευτερον κατα τας γενεσεις αυτων
11 By the stone-carver's art -- seal engraving -- you wil engrave the two stones with the names of thesons of Israel. You will have them mounted in gold settings	11 εργον λιθουργικης τεχνης γλυμμα σφραγιδος διαγλυψεις τους δυο λιθους επι τοις ονομασιν των υιων ισραηλ
12 and wil put the two stones on the shoulder-straps of the ephod, to commemorate the sons of Israel.In this way Aaron will bear their names on his two shoulders, before Yahweh, as a reminder.	12 και θησεις τους δυο λιθους επι των ωμων της επωμιδος λιθοι μνημοσυνου εισιν τοις υιοις ισραηλ και αναλημψεται ααρων τα ονοματα των υιων ισραηλ εναντι κυριου επι των δυο ωμων αυτου μνημοσυνον περι αυτων
13 You wil also make golden rosettes,	13 και ποιησεις ασπιδισκας εκ χρυσιου καθαρου
14 and two chains of pure gold twisted like cord, and wil attach the cord-like chains to the rosettes.	14 και ποιησεις δυο κροσσωτα εκ χρυσιου καθαρου καταμεμιγμενα εν ανθεσιν εργον πλοκης και επιθησεις τα κροσσωτα τα πεπλεγμενα επι τας ασπιδισκας κατα τας παρωμιδας αυτων εκ των εμπροσθιων
15 'You wil make the breastplate of judgement of the same embroidered work as the ephod; you wilmake it of gold, violet-purple, red-purple and crimson materials and finely woven linen.	15 και ποιησεις λογειον των κρισεων εργον ποικιλτου κατα τον ρυθμον της επωμιδος ποιησεις αυτο εκ χρυσιου και υακινθου και πορφυρας και κοκκινου κεκλωσμενου και βυσσου κεκλωσμενης ποιησεις αυτο
16 It must be square and doubled over, a span in length and a span in width.	16 τετραγωνον εσται διπλουν σπιθαμης το μηκος και σπιθαμης το ευρος
17 In it you wil set four rows of stones: a sard, topaz and emerald for the first row;	17 και καθυφανεις εν αυτω υφασμα καταλιθον τετραστιχον στιχος λιθων εσται σαρδιον τοπαζιον και σμαραγδος ο στιχος ο εις
18 for the second row, a garnet, sapphire and diamond;	18 και ο στιχος ο δευτερος ανθραξ και σαπφειρος και ιασπις
19 for the third row, a hyacinth, a ruby and an amethyst;	19 και ο στιχος ο τριτος λιγυριον αχατης και αμεθυστος
20 and for the fourth row, a beryl, a cornelian and a jasper. These must be mounted in gold settings.	20 και ο στιχος ο τεταρτος χρυσολιθος και βηρυλλιον και ονυχιον περικεκαλυμμενα χρυσιω συνδεδεμενα εν χρυσιω εστωσαν κατα στιχον αυτων
21 The stones wil correspond to the names of the sons of Israel, twelve like their names, engraved likeseals, each with the name of one of the twelve tribes.	21 και οι λιθοι εστωσαν εκ των ονοματων των υιων ισραηλ δεκα δυο κατα τα ονοματα αυτων γλυφαι σφραγιδων εκαστος κατα το ονομα εστωσαν εις δεκα δυο φυλας
22 For the breastplate you wil make chains of pure gold twisted like cords,	22 και ποιησεις επι το λογειον κροσσους συμπεπλεγμενους εργον αλυσιδωτον εκ χρυσιου καθαρου
23 and on the breastplate you wil make two gold rings, putting the two rings on the two outside edges ofthe breastplate	23 -
24 and fastening the two gold cords to the two rings on the outside edges of the breastplate.	24 -
25 The other two ends of the cords you wil fasten to the two rosettes, putting these on the shoulder-straps of the ephod, on the front.	25 -
26 You wil also make two gold rings and put them on the two edges of the breastplate, on the innerside, against the ephod;	26 -
27 and you wil make two gold rings and put them low down on the front of the two shoulder-pieces ofthe ephod, close to the join, above the waistband of the ephod.	27 -
28 The breastplate wil be secured by a violet-purple cord passed through its rings and those of theephod, so that the breastplate wil sit above the waistband and not come apart from the ephod.	28 -
29 Thus Aaron wil bear the names of the sons of Israel on the breastplate of judgement, on his heart,when he enters the sanctuary, as a reminder, before Yahweh, always.	29 και λημψεται ααρων τα ονοματα των υιων ισραηλ επι του λογειου της κρισεως επι του στηθους εισιοντι εις το αγιον μνημοσυνον εναντι του θεου [29α] και θησεις επι το λογειον της κρισεως τους κροσσους τα αλυσιδωτα επ' αμφοτερων των κλιτων του λογειου επιθησεις και τας δυο ασπιδισκας επιθησεις επ' αμφοτερους τους ωμους της επωμιδος κατα προσωπον
30 To the breastplate of judgement you will add the urim and the thummim, and these wil be on Aaron'sheart when he goes into Yahweh's presence, and Aaron will bear the Israelites' judgement on his heart, inYahweh's presence, always.	30 και επιθησεις επι το λογειον της κρισεως την δηλωσιν και την αληθειαν και εσται επι του στηθους ααρων οταν εισπορευηται εις το αγιον εναντιον κυριου και οισει ααρων τας κρισεις των υιων ισραηλ επι του στηθους εναντιον κυριου δια παντος
31 'You wil make the robe of the ephod entirely of violet-purple.	31 και ποιησεις υποδυτην ποδηρη ολον υακινθινον
32 In the centre it will have an opening for the head, the opening to have round it a border woven likethe neck of a coat of mail, so that it wil not get torn.	32 και εσται το περιστομιον εξ αυτου μεσον ωαν εχον κυκλω του περιστομιου εργον υφαντου την συμβολην συνυφασμενην εξ αυτου ινα μη ραγη
33 On its lower hem, you wil make pomegranates of violet-purple, red-purple and crimson, and finelywoven linen al round the hem, with golden bel s between them al round:	33 και ποιησεις επι το λωμα του υποδυτου κατωθεν ωσει εξανθουσης ροας ροισκους εξ υακινθου και πορφυρας και κοκκινου διανενησμενου και βυσσου κεκλωσμενης επι του λωματος του υποδυτου κυκλω το αυτο δε ειδος ροισκους χρυσους και κωδωνας ανα μεσον τουτων περικυκλω
34 a golden bell and then a pomegranate, alternately, al round the lower hem of the robe.	34 παρα ροισκον χρυσουν κωδωνα και ανθινον επι του λωματος του υποδυτου κυκλω
35 Aaron must wear it when he officiates, and the tinkling will be heard when he goes into the sanctuaryinto Yahweh's presence, or leaves it, and so he wil not incur death.	35 και εσται ααρων εν τω λειτουργειν ακουστη η φωνη αυτου εισιοντι εις το αγιον εναντιον κυριου και εξιοντι ινα μη αποθανη
36 'You wil make a flower of pure gold and on it, as you would engrave a seal, you wil engrave,"Consecrated to Yahweh".	36 και ποιησεις πεταλον χρυσουν καθαρον και εκτυπωσεις εν αυτω εκτυπωμα σφραγιδος αγιασμα κυριου
37 You wil put it on a violet-purple cord; it wil go on the turban; the front of the turban is the place whereit must go.	37 και επιθησεις αυτο επι υακινθου κεκλωσμενης και εσται επι της μιτρας κατα προσωπον της μιτρας εσται
38 This wil go on Aaron's brow, and Aaron will thus take on himself the short-comings in the holy thingsconsecrated by the Israelites, in all their holy offerings. It wil be on his brow permanently, to make themacceptable to Yahweh.	38 και εσται επι του μετωπου ααρων και εξαρει ααρων τα αμαρτηματα των αγιων οσα αν αγιασωσιν οι υιοι ισραηλ παντος δοματος των αγιων αυτων και εσται επι του μετωπου ααρων δια παντος δεκτον αυτοις εναντι κυριου
39 The tunic you wil weave of fine linen, and make a turban of fine linen, and an embroideredwaistband.	39 και οι κοσυμβοι των χιτωνων εκ βυσσου και ποιησεις κιδαριν βυσσινην και ζωνην ποιησεις εργον ποικιλτου
40 'For the sons of Aaron you will make tunics and waistbands. You wil also make them head-dressesto give dignity and magnificence.	40 και τοις υιοις ααρων ποιησεις χιτωνας και ζωνας και κιδαρεις ποιησεις αυτοις εις τιμην και δοξαν
41 You wil dress your brother Aaron and his sons in these; you wil then anoint them, invest them andconsecrate them to serve me in the priesthood.	41 και ενδυσεις αυτα ααρων τον αδελφον σου και τους υιους αυτου μετ' αυτου και χρισεις αυτους και εμπλησεις αυτων τας χειρας και αγιασεις αυτους ινα ιερατευωσιν μοι
42 You wil also make them linen breeches reaching from waist to thigh, to cover their bare flesh.	42 και ποιησεις αυτοις περισκελη λινα καλυψαι ασχημοσυνην χρωτος αυτων απο οσφυος εως μηρων εσται
43 Aaron and his sons wil wear these when they go into the Tent of Meeting and when they approachthe altar to serve in the sanctuary, as a precaution against incurring mortal guilt. This is a perpetual decree forAaron and for his descendants after him.'	43 και εξει ααρων αυτα και οι υιοι αυτου ως αν εισπορευωνται εις την σκηνην του μαρτυριου η οταν προσπορευωνται λειτουργειν προς το θυσιαστηριον του αγιου και ουκ επαξονται προς εαυτους αμαρτιαν ινα μη αποθανωσιν νομιμον αιωνιον αυτω και τω σπερματι αυτου μετ' αυτον
