1 'From among the Israelites, summon your brother Aaron and his sons to be priests in my service:Aaron and Aaron's sons Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.	1 ואתה הקרב אליך את אהרן אחיך ואת בניו אתו מתוך בני ישראל לכהנו לי אהרן נדב ואביהוא אלעזר ואיתמר בני אהרן
2 For your brother Aaron you wil make sacred vestments to give dignity and magnificence.	2 ועשית בגדי קדש לאהרן אחיך לכבוד ולתפארת
3 You will instruct al the skilled men, whom I have endowed with skil , to make Aaron's vestments for hisconsecration to my priesthood.	3 ואתה תדבר אל כל חכמי לב אשר מלאתיו רוח חכמה ועשו את בגדי אהרן לקדשו לכהנו לי
4 These are the vestments which they must make: a pectoral, an ephod, a robe, an embroidered tunic, aturban and a belt. They must make sacred vestments for your brother Aaron and his sons, for them to be priestsin my service.	4 ואלה הבגדים אשר יעשו חשן ואפוד ומעיל וכתנת תשבץ מצנפת ואבנט ועשו בגדי קדש לאהרן אחיך ולבניו לכהנו לי
5 They wil use gold and violet material, red-purple and crimson, and finely woven linen.	5 והם יקחו את הזהב ואת התכלת ואת הארגמן ואת תולעת השני ואת השש
6 'They wil make the ephod of finely woven linen embroidered with gold, violet-purple, red-purple andcrimson.	6 ועשו את האפד זהב תכלת וארגמן תולעת שני ושש משזר מעשה חשב
7 It wil have two shoulder-straps joined to it; it will be joined to them by its two edges.	7 שתי כתפת חברת יהיה לו אל שני קצותיו וחבר
8 The waistband on the ephod to hold it in position must be of the same workmanship and be of a piecewith it: of gold, violet-purple, red-purple and crimson materials and finely woven linen.	8 וחשב אפדתו אשר עליו כמעשהו ממנו יהיה זהב תכלת וארגמן ותולעת שני ושש משזר
9 You will then take two cornelians and engrave them with the names of the sons of Israel,	9 ולקחת את שתי אבני שהם ופתחת עליהם שמות בני ישראל
10 six of their names on one stone, the remaining six names on the other, in the order of their birth.	10 ששה משמתם על האבן האחת ואת שמות הששה הנותרים על האבן השנית כתולדתם
11 By the stone-carver's art -- seal engraving -- you wil engrave the two stones with the names of thesons of Israel. You will have them mounted in gold settings	11 מעשה חרש אבן פתוחי חתם תפתח את שתי האבנים על שמת בני ישראל מסבת משבצות זהב תעשה אתם
12 and wil put the two stones on the shoulder-straps of the ephod, to commemorate the sons of Israel.In this way Aaron will bear their names on his two shoulders, before Yahweh, as a reminder.	12 ושמת את שתי האבנים על כתפת האפד אבני זכרן לבני ישראל ונשא אהרן את שמותם לפני יהוה על שתי כתפיו לזכרן
13 You wil also make golden rosettes,	13 ועשית משבצת זהב
14 and two chains of pure gold twisted like cord, and wil attach the cord-like chains to the rosettes.	14 ושתי שרשרת זהב טהור מגבלת תעשה אתם מעשה עבת ונתתה את שרשרת העבתת על המשבצת
15 'You wil make the breastplate of judgement of the same embroidered work as the ephod; you wilmake it of gold, violet-purple, red-purple and crimson materials and finely woven linen.	15 ועשית חשן משפט מעשה חשב כמעשה אפד תעשנו זהב תכלת וארגמן ותולעת שני ושש משזר תעשה אתו
16 It must be square and doubled over, a span in length and a span in width.	16 רבוע יהיה כפול זרת ארכו וזרת רחבו
17 In it you wil set four rows of stones: a sard, topaz and emerald for the first row;	17 ומלאת בו מלאת אבן ארבעה טורים אבן טור אדם פטדה וברקת הטור האחד
18 for the second row, a garnet, sapphire and diamond;	18 והטור השני נפך ספיר ויהלם
19 for the third row, a hyacinth, a ruby and an amethyst;	19 והטור השלישי לשם שבו ואחלמה
20 and for the fourth row, a beryl, a cornelian and a jasper. These must be mounted in gold settings.	20 והטור הרביעי תרשיש ושהם וישפה משבצים זהב יהיו במלואתם
21 The stones wil correspond to the names of the sons of Israel, twelve like their names, engraved likeseals, each with the name of one of the twelve tribes.	21 והאבנים תהיין על שמת בני ישראל שתים עשרה על שמתם פתוחי חותם איש על שמו תהיין לשני עשר שבט
22 For the breastplate you wil make chains of pure gold twisted like cords,	22 ועשית על החשן שרשת גבלת מעשה עבת זהב טהור
23 and on the breastplate you wil make two gold rings, putting the two rings on the two outside edges ofthe breastplate	23 ועשית על החשן שתי טבעות זהב ונתת את שתי הטבעות על שני קצות החשן
24 and fastening the two gold cords to the two rings on the outside edges of the breastplate.	24 ונתתה את שתי עבתת הזהב על שתי הטבעת אל קצות החשן
25 The other two ends of the cords you wil fasten to the two rosettes, putting these on the shoulder-straps of the ephod, on the front.	25 ואת שתי קצות שתי העבתת תתן על שתי המשבצות ונתתה על כתפות האפד אל מול פניו
26 You wil also make two gold rings and put them on the two edges of the breastplate, on the innerside, against the ephod;	26 ועשית שתי טבעות זהב ושמת אתם על שני קצות החשן על שפתו אשר אל עבר האפד ביתה
27 and you wil make two gold rings and put them low down on the front of the two shoulder-pieces ofthe ephod, close to the join, above the waistband of the ephod.	27 ועשית שתי טבעות זהב ונתתה אתם על שתי כתפות האפוד מלמטה ממול פניו לעמת מחברתו ממעל לחשב האפוד
28 The breastplate wil be secured by a violet-purple cord passed through its rings and those of theephod, so that the breastplate wil sit above the waistband and not come apart from the ephod.	28 וירכסו את החשן מטבעתו אל טבעת האפד בפתיל תכלת להיות על חשב האפוד ולא יזח החשן מעל האפוד
29 Thus Aaron wil bear the names of the sons of Israel on the breastplate of judgement, on his heart,when he enters the sanctuary, as a reminder, before Yahweh, always.	29 ונשא אהרן את שמות בני ישראל בחשן המשפט על לבו בבאו אל הקדש לזכרן לפני יהוה תמיד
30 To the breastplate of judgement you will add the urim and the thummim, and these wil be on Aaron'sheart when he goes into Yahweh's presence, and Aaron will bear the Israelites' judgement on his heart, inYahweh's presence, always.	30 ונתת אל חשן המשפט את האורים ואת התמים והיו על לב אהרן בבאו לפני יהוה ונשא אהרן את משפט בני ישראל על לבו לפני יהוה תמיד
31 'You wil make the robe of the ephod entirely of violet-purple.	31 ועשית את מעיל האפוד כליל תכלת
32 In the centre it will have an opening for the head, the opening to have round it a border woven likethe neck of a coat of mail, so that it wil not get torn.	32 והיה פי ראשו בתוכו שפה יהיה לפיו סביב מעשה ארג כפי תחרא יהיה לו לא יקרע
33 On its lower hem, you wil make pomegranates of violet-purple, red-purple and crimson, and finelywoven linen al round the hem, with golden bel s between them al round:	33 ועשית על שוליו רמני תכלת וארגמן ותולעת שני על שוליו סביב ופעמני זהב בתוכם סביב
34 a golden bell and then a pomegranate, alternately, al round the lower hem of the robe.	34 פעמן זהב ורמון פעמן זהב ורמון על שולי המעיל סביב
35 Aaron must wear it when he officiates, and the tinkling will be heard when he goes into the sanctuaryinto Yahweh's presence, or leaves it, and so he wil not incur death.	35 והיה על אהרן לשרת ונשמע קולו בבאו אל הקדש לפני יהוה ובצאתו ולא ימות
36 'You wil make a flower of pure gold and on it, as you would engrave a seal, you wil engrave,"Consecrated to Yahweh".	36 ועשית ציץ זהב טהור ופתחת עליו פתוחי חתם קדש ליהוה
37 You wil put it on a violet-purple cord; it wil go on the turban; the front of the turban is the place whereit must go.	37 ושמת אתו על פתיל תכלת והיה על המצנפת אל מול פני המצנפת יהיה
38 This wil go on Aaron's brow, and Aaron will thus take on himself the short-comings in the holy thingsconsecrated by the Israelites, in all their holy offerings. It wil be on his brow permanently, to make themacceptable to Yahweh.	38 והיה על מצח אהרן ונשא אהרן את עון הקדשים אשר יקדישו בני ישראל לכל מתנת קדשיהם והיה על מצחו תמיד לרצון להם לפני יהוה
39 The tunic you wil weave of fine linen, and make a turban of fine linen, and an embroideredwaistband.	39 ושבצת הכתנת שש ועשית מצנפת שש ואבנט תעשה מעשה רקם
40 'For the sons of Aaron you will make tunics and waistbands. You wil also make them head-dressesto give dignity and magnificence.	40 ולבני אהרן תעשה כתנת ועשית להם אבנטים ומגבעות תעשה להם לכבוד ולתפארת
41 You wil dress your brother Aaron and his sons in these; you wil then anoint them, invest them andconsecrate them to serve me in the priesthood.	41 והלבשת אתם את אהרן אחיך ואת בניו אתו ומשחת אתם ומלאת את ידם וקדשת אתם וכהנו לי
42 You wil also make them linen breeches reaching from waist to thigh, to cover their bare flesh.	42 ועשה להם מכנסי בד לכסות בשר ערוה ממתנים ועד ירכים יהיו
43 Aaron and his sons wil wear these when they go into the Tent of Meeting and when they approachthe altar to serve in the sanctuary, as a precaution against incurring mortal guilt. This is a perpetual decree forAaron and for his descendants after him.'	43 והיו על אהרן ועל בניו בבאם אל אהל מועד או בגשתם אל המזבח לשרת בקדש ולא ישאו עון ומתו חקת עולם לו ולזרעו אחריו
