1 'From among the Israelites, summon your brother Aaron and his sons to be priests in my service:Aaron and Aaron's sons Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.	1 Tu vas choisir parmi tous les Israélites ton frère Aaron et ses frères, tu vas les faire approcher pour qu’Aaron soit mon prêtre, avec ses fils Nadab et Abihou, Éléazar et Itamar.
2 For your brother Aaron you wil make sacred vestments to give dignity and magnificence.	2 Tu feras des habits sacrés pour Aaron, ton frère, pour qu’il soit vêtu de gloire et de majesté.
3 You will instruct al the skilled men, whom I have endowed with skil , to make Aaron's vestments for hisconsecration to my priesthood.	3 Tu t’adresseras à tous les hommes habiles, en qui j’ai mis un esprit d’intelligence. Ils feront les habits d’Aaron pour qu’il soit consacré comme prêtre à mon service.
4 These are the vestments which they must make: a pectoral, an ephod, a robe, an embroidered tunic, aturban and a belt. They must make sacred vestments for your brother Aaron and his sons, for them to be priestsin my service.	4 Voici les habits qu’ils feront: le pectoral et l’éphod, le manteau, la tunique, le turban et la ceinture. Ils feront des habits sacrés pour Aaron, ton frère, et pour ses fils, pour qu’ils soient mes prêtres.
5 They wil use gold and violet material, red-purple and crimson, and finely woven linen.	5 Ils se procureront de l’or, de la pourpre violette et de la pourpre rouge, du tissu teint en rouge foncé et du lin fin.
6 'They wil make the ephod of finely woven linen embroidered with gold, violet-purple, red-purple andcrimson.	6 L’éphod sera en or, avec de la pourpre violette et de la pourpre rouge, du tissu teint en rouge foncé et du lin fin. Il sera fait par un artiste.
7 It wil have two shoulder-straps joined to it; it will be joined to them by its two edges.	7 Il sera attaché par les deux épaulettes fixées à ses deux extrémités.
8 The waistband on the ephod to hold it in position must be of the same workmanship and be of a piecewith it: of gold, violet-purple, red-purple and crimson materials and finely woven linen.	8 La bande qui entoure l’éphod sera travaillée de la même façon et ne fera qu’un avec lui. Elle sera faite de fil d’or, de pourpre violette et de pourpre rouge, de tissu teint en rouge foncé et de lin fin.
9 You will then take two cornelians and engrave them with the names of the sons of Israel,	9 Tu prendras deux pierres d’onyx et tu graveras sur elles les noms des fils d’Israël.
10 six of their names on one stone, the remaining six names on the other, in the order of their birth.	10 Six noms sur la première pierre, et six noms sur la seconde, selon l’ordre de naissance.
11 By the stone-carver's art -- seal engraving -- you wil engrave the two stones with the names of thesons of Israel. You will have them mounted in gold settings	11 Tu graveras les noms des fils d’Israël sur les deux pierres, comme font les tailleurs de pierres lorsqu’ils gravent des sceaux. Tu fixeras ces deux pierres avec des griffes d’or.
12 and wil put the two stones on the shoulder-straps of the ephod, to commemorate the sons of Israel.In this way Aaron will bear their names on his two shoulders, before Yahweh, as a reminder.	12 Tu placeras ensuite les deux pierres sur les épaulettes de l’éphod en représentation des fils d’Israël. Aaron portera ces pierres sur ses deux épaules pour rappeler les fils d’Israël au souvenir de Yahvé.
13 You wil also make golden rosettes,	13 Tu feras aussi les griffes en or,
14 and two chains of pure gold twisted like cord, and wil attach the cord-like chains to the rosettes.	14 ainsi que deux chaînes travaillées comme des cordons tressés. Tu fixeras les chaînes et les tresses sur les griffes d’or.
15 'You wil make the breastplate of judgement of the same embroidered work as the ephod; you wilmake it of gold, violet-purple, red-purple and crimson materials and finely woven linen.	15 C’est un artiste qui réalisera, selon tes directives, le pectoral du jugement. Tu le feras de la même façon que l’Éphod, en or, en pourpre violette et en pourpre rouge, en tissu teint en rouge foncé et en lin fin.
16 It must be square and doubled over, a span in length and a span in width.	16 Il sera carré et doublé. Sa longueur comme sa largeur seront d’une demi-coudée.
17 In it you wil set four rows of stones: a sard, topaz and emerald for the first row;	17 Il sera garni de pierres précieuses disposées en quatre rangées: la première avec un rubis, une topaze et une émeraude;
18 for the second row, a garnet, sapphire and diamond;	18 la deuxième, une malachite, un saphir et un diamant;
19 for the third row, a hyacinth, a ruby and an amethyst;	19 la troisième, une opale, une agate et une améthyste;
20 and for the fourth row, a beryl, a cornelian and a jasper. These must be mounted in gold settings.	20 la quatrième, une chrysolithe, un onyx et un jaspe. Elles seront fixées par des griffes d’or.
21 The stones wil correspond to the names of the sons of Israel, twelve like their names, engraved likeseals, each with the name of one of the twelve tribes.	21 Les pierres porteront les noms des fils d’Israël. Chacune des douze sera gravée comme un sceau et portera le nom de l’une des douze tribus.
22 For the breastplate you wil make chains of pure gold twisted like cords,	22 Tu fixeras sur le pectoral des chaînettes en fil d’or tressé.
23 and on the breastplate you wil make two gold rings, putting the two rings on the two outside edges ofthe breastplate	23 Tu fixeras aussi sur le pectoral deux anneaux d’or qui seront placés à ses deux extrémités.
24 and fastening the two gold cords to the two rings on the outside edges of the breastplate.	24 Tu attacheras les deux chaînettes d’or aux anneaux fixés aux extrémités du pectoral.
25 The other two ends of the cords you wil fasten to the two rosettes, putting these on the shoulder-straps of the ephod, on the front.	25 Le bout des deux chaînettes sera attaché aux griffes d’or et fixé aux épaulettes de l’éphod, sur la face visible.
26 You wil also make two gold rings and put them on the two edges of the breastplate, on the innerside, against the ephod;	26 Tu feras encore deux anneaux d’or que tu fixeras aux extrémités du pectoral, sur le bord qui est de l’autre côté de l’éphod, à l’intérieur.
27 and you wil make two gold rings and put them low down on the front of the two shoulder-pieces ofthe ephod, close to the join, above the waistband of the ephod.	27 Tu feras également deux anneaux d’or et tu les mettras sur les deux épaulettes de l’éphod en dessous de sa face visible, près de l’attache de la bande qui couvre l’éphod.
28 The breastplate wil be secured by a violet-purple cord passed through its rings and those of theephod, so that the breastplate wil sit above the waistband and not come apart from the ephod.	28 On attachera le pectoral par ses anneaux aux anneaux de l’éphod, avec du fil de pourpre violette: il couvrira la bande de l’éphod. Ainsi tenu, le pectoral ne bougera pas sur l’éphod.
29 Thus Aaron wil bear the names of the sons of Israel on the breastplate of judgement, on his heart,when he enters the sanctuary, as a reminder, before Yahweh, always.	29 Aaron portera donc les noms des fils d’Israël sur le pectoral du jugement, ils seront comme un rappel sur sa poitrine lorsqu’il se présentera devant Yahvé, dans le Saint.
30 To the breastplate of judgement you will add the urim and the thummim, and these wil be on Aaron'sheart when he goes into Yahweh's presence, and Aaron will bear the Israelites' judgement on his heart, inYahweh's presence, always.	30 Au pectoral, tu ajouteras les Ourim et les Toumim. Ils seront sur la poitrine d’Aaron quand il se présentera devant Yahvé et Aaron portera l’instrument du jugement des Israélites sur sa poitrine quand il se présentera devant Yahvé.
31 'You wil make the robe of the ephod entirely of violet-purple.	31 Tu feras également le manteau de l’éphod en pourpre violette,
32 In the centre it will have an opening for the head, the opening to have round it a border woven likethe neck of a coat of mail, so that it wil not get torn.	32 au milieu, il y aura un trou pour la tête. Le bord, tout autour du trou, sera brodé, ce sera comme le trou d’une cuirasse qu’on ne peut déchirer.
33 On its lower hem, you wil make pomegranates of violet-purple, red-purple and crimson, and finelywoven linen al round the hem, with golden bel s between them al round:	33 Tu feras sur les côtés des grenades en pourpre violette, en pourpre rouge et en tissu teint en rouge foncé. Tu en feras sur tous ses côtés, et entre elles, tu mettras des sonnettes d’or.
34 a golden bell and then a pomegranate, alternately, al round the lower hem of the robe.	34 Sur tous les côtés du manteau, tout autour, il y aura des sonnettes d’or et des grenades.
35 Aaron must wear it when he officiates, and the tinkling will be heard when he goes into the sanctuaryinto Yahweh's presence, or leaves it, and so he wil not incur death.	35 Aaron le portera pour le service dans la Demeure, on entendra tinter les sonnettes quand il entrera dans le Saint, en présence de Yahvé ou quand il en sortira, et ainsi il ne mourra pas.
36 'You wil make a flower of pure gold and on it, as you would engrave a seal, you wil engrave,"Consecrated to Yahweh".	36 Tu feras aussi une fleur d’or fin, et tu graveras dessus, comme on grave un sceau: ‘Consacré à Yahvé.’
37 You wil put it on a violet-purple cord; it wil go on the turban; the front of the turban is the place whereit must go.	37 Elle sera fixée avec un fil de pourpre violette sur le turban, sur le devant du turban.
38 This wil go on Aaron's brow, and Aaron will thus take on himself the short-comings in the holy thingsconsecrated by the Israelites, in all their holy offerings. It wil be on his brow permanently, to make themacceptable to Yahweh.	38 Ainsi, elle sera sur le front d’Aaron, et Aaron sera responsable de toutes les offrandes sacrées présentées par les Israélites. Elle sera sur son front pour toujours, afin de rendre les offrandes agréables à Yahvé.
39 The tunic you wil weave of fine linen, and make a turban of fine linen, and an embroideredwaistband.	39 Tu feras la tunique de lin fin, le turban de lin fin, la ceinture en broderie.
40 'For the sons of Aaron you will make tunics and waistbands. You wil also make them head-dressesto give dignity and magnificence.	40 Les tuniques des fils d’Aaron et leurs ceintures, ainsi que les mitres, seront faites de la même façon. Ainsi ils seront vêtus de gloire et de majesté.
41 You wil dress your brother Aaron and his sons in these; you wil then anoint them, invest them andconsecrate them to serve me in the priesthood.	41 Tu revêtiras Aaron, ton frère, ainsi que ses fils; tu leur donneras l’onction sainte, tu les institueras comme prêtres et tu les consacreras à mon service.
42 You wil also make them linen breeches reaching from waist to thigh, to cover their bare flesh.	42 Tu leur feras des caleçons de lin qui les couvriront des reins jusqu’aux cuisses, pour cacher leur nudité.
43 Aaron and his sons wil wear these when they go into the Tent of Meeting and when they approachthe altar to serve in the sanctuary, as a precaution against incurring mortal guilt. This is a perpetual decree forAaron and for his descendants after him.'	43 Aaron et ses fils les porteront quand ils entreront dans la Tente du Rendez-Vous, ou quand ils monteront vers l’autel pour accomplir leur ministère dans le Saint. Ainsi ils ne commettront pas de faute et ne mourront pas. C’est un rite éternel pour lui et pour sa descendance après lui.
